Word from connected people is that the first two weeks of November was what won it for Xbone. PS4 nearly caught up thanks to BF and GTA bundles. Exciting stuff!

Really? Interesting. Would have thought it would be the other way around, with BF going to the XB1.

Yea, I'm borderline ashamed for doubting Sony's pricing strategy for the holidays.

PS4 is truly a beast :/

It is pretty funny. You and others were absolutely convinced that Xbox was gonna destroy the PS4. I can't stop laughing. This NPD has already delivered above and beyond.

Considering consumer response, and the PS4's comparative much higher price all month, this is insane. That means it takes that sort of price and deals to just BARELY best PS4. That's...wow.

I don't know what else Microsoft can possibly do then. They went as balls deep as they could.

Yup, MS is just fucked now. With the Target gift card offsetting the price, it was $280 for an Xbone with 2 games. Sony just stuck with their standard bundles at $400 and sold the same amount.

MS is going to absolutely hemorrhage cash just to even try and stay competitive with Sony now. And keep in mind this was in MS' strongest territory. They're so fucked.

I remember when MCC was announced people were talking about it like it was gonna sell like a brand new Halo.

To be fair, it certainly had the potential. Incompetence by 343i and poor word of mouth really spoiled what should have been a celebration of the Halo franchise. Shame. I doubt Microsoft would have let them delay the game either, not if it meant missing the holiday shopping season.

Damn at last gen version of Call of Duty Advanced Warfare being the best selling game. It just shows how much exclusivity and advertising pay off, seeing as how Xbox One best PS4 as well.

Last gen still has legs in North America. Microsoft needs to be ashamed at Master Chief Collection launch. Could've been top 3, instead tanks to #10 with no hope of recovery.

This is still shocking. 7-10K.

Mattrick killed Xbox and got a golden parachute in the process. You can't make this ish up.

Incredible.

It's 10%. 90% is software.

Oh, that's really bad then. Wii U is not even going to come close to Gamecube numbers confirmed now.

I feel bad for Nintendo, the system they have now is so charming after a few days with it. I mean, they have games that look awesome visually (Super Mario 3D World and Captain Toad, for example) and run at 60fps, and look relatively extremely clean. Such vibrant and attractive looks. After the stop in the wasteland of Wii tech, it was invigorating just to see that.

But then we also understand how amazing their library actually PLAYS, from Pikmin 3 to Wonderful 101 (minus the touchscreen actions, painful), Bayonetta 2, Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 (not for me, but for others), Super Smash Bros. U (same as MK8), Super Mario 3D World, New Super Luigi Bros., ZombiU, Lego City Undercover, Earthbound finally, Fire Emblem GBA, Hyrule Warriors, it's a wonderful albeit compact game library that meets a niche other platforms simply rarely touch anymore.

Anyway, wish Nintendo could have had success with this one over Wii. :(

Truly is mind blowing. How does Microsoft even contend with that?

They had the games in Sunset Overdrive and even pushed up Master Chief Collection for the holiday season despite its obvious technical problems. Comparatively, what does Sony have? Not much of interest on the AAA front, though if you aren't playing Binding of Isaac right now I have lost all respect for you.

Microsoft brought an extremely competitive price point along with pack in games. Again, Sony almost isn't even trying. They opted to keep the standard price point and some pack in games.

I really have no idea. This is seriously red alarm territory, essentially solidifies PS4's position in #1 this gen. That's how serious it is.

The difference may be small but microsoft still won november so they didn't technically "lose".

Yes but numbers have a context. If you're winning by 7-10k with 3 games in bundle and around 70$ less, that's not winning, that's taking a huge hit on the head.
Waiting for more details.

I've been waiting for this thread. Surprised Smash U and Dragon Age didn't sell more. If 7-10K difference is all for MS that is definitely disappointing.

So, if MS keeps the $350 price point, does that mean they'll match/exceed PS4 numbers for the rest of the year (win the exception of major exclusive release months)

Lol the 7-10k is a reverse meltdown lmao ahahahaha

Kazuo is probably laughing

Anyway this is important for MS. They are still " in busisness"

They will probably win december as well.

If X1 is still " in busisness" I guess Wii U is done?

Seriously, it's selling better than 360 and twice as fast as Wii U. X1 is in better shape than PS3 was last gen, Xbox brand isn't going away no matter how much you want it.

The real question is - how many of those XB1s sold were people who had been fence sitting and jumped as soon as the price jump hit in those first 2 weeks. Can they sustain that momentum through December as well?

10k is far less then a rounding error when talking 1,000,000

What would the rousing error be? 2-3%? Doubt the rounding error is just 1% or less

Pretty impressive though for both to be over a million sales. Wonder what the WW number was for the Ps4 in November. 2.5-3.0m?

CBoaT's post totally makes me feel better about what I was seeing.

There was virtually no clear winner on our end. Stores were all over the place. Huge Sony shipments that didn't sell as 'fast', but sold like a goddamn truck, just constantly pushing numbers after the XB1 bundles emptied out.

So, yeah. 7-10k difference matches completely with how close of a game I figured it'd be.

Yep your info seemed pretty damn close to what actually happened.

MA quote US and UK in a US NOD response?
CBOAT says 10k gap?

What the actual hell?

Why would MS need to rope in UK? Was it really that close?

This could be quite the thread. I figured MS would at least make up 100k in US alone but if CBOAT is right then were talking a phrric victory at best and no way can MS let the console return to normal price.

That momentum for Sony, had heard similar about X1 sales peaking early in the month.

PS4 for December seems stitched on.

The Xbox One: where selling well isn't good enough.

The fact is that the PS4 is selling like freaking crazy. Calling the Xbox One's 800k~ sales in November "sad" is extreme, I'll say.

First, I'd like to thank myself. Whilst everyone gave up hope, I continued to believe in the Age of One, and I spent every last ounce of energy I had in helping it grow across the world, and especially online. Through my efforts alone, and against all odds, it slowly built momentum. And with all that momentum, I threw it into the United States of America, in God's favourite country, with the force of a thousand suns.

Number one, in the Age of One, is the All-in-One, Xbox One.

Need the other one, then.

lol still need numbers from creamsugar before jumping to conclusions.

MS could barely win in November with massive price cut deals along with exclusives coming out. They are going to get annihilated first half of next year when they have no big releases in sight.

Let alone second half if those lukewarm Halo numbers are to be considered.

They had to push pretty damn hard for that so it'll be interesting to see if they have legs.

Surprised MCC snuck into the Top 10 especially for single SKU on a console with a tiny base.

Those WiiU numbers are so bad. Nintendo did nothing to move hardware this year.

This would pretty much be the last months Xbox One would outsell the PS4 anytime soon if true. If MS lost Black Friday with the deals they had, that is a major issue. They are 100% not going to outsell the PS4 in December.
