I just got my tattoo a few hours ago and I'm a little worried. The ink is really dark compared to my pale skin! Will the ink wash and fad a bit after awhile?

I walked by the local jew community with my shirt off the other day. Needless to say I got some stares.

White power.

That's a fake uh?

While I can understand why most people find it repellent or upsetting, it's ignorant to think that anyone interested in it or practicing it is only interested in it because they have some sort of unhealthy urge to cause self injury.

I don't really want to get into an arguement, but what would be a healthy urge to cause self injury? :-/

Seriously.
Think about this for a second... it's DRIVING HOOKS THROUGH YOUR SKIN AND THEN HANGING FROM IT.

There's nothing there that sounds anywhere close to normal or sensible.
Tattoos I get, but hanging yourself like some extra from a Hellraiser movie? What the fuck....
Youre messed in the head if that's what gets your rocks off.

Let me kick you in the nuts and you can relish in that pain too. After all it's healthy right?

Hoping someone can provide insight or anecdotal experiences right now. From another thread:

Thinking of getting tattoos on my neck behind/underneath my ears. How much do you think small, one colour tattoos, a few centimetres in total area, would cost? I'm guessing they're going to be very painful and cause headaches after the session?

like a bunch of little ones? maybe 75-90? the pain on the neck is pretty bad, i almost fainted getting mine done there but if they are small it will be fast and no biggy.

Cool! It'll be my first tattoo, so I guess the more painful it is, the better. It'll make getting subsequent tattoos easier, I think. I'm aiming for the ribs in the end, so having a good estimate of the pain will be nice. :lol

I was thinking of getting some really small ones. Mainly numbers that are important to me. I was thinking of getting the area code of the town I grew up in, but I don't want to be mistaken for a gang member. Haha. I have to do a little more thinking before I go drop a hundred bucks.

you're doing the most painful spots! lol i have one on my ribs too and the neck ( i got numbers too :) ) did hurt more but i think it's just because you have to keep your head down the whole time, it gets really uncomfortable and all while as the ribs you can just lay there.

Looking to get my 2nd tattoo sooner rather than later. It'll be a type of tribute to my late brother - he took his own life in July 2001 :( :(

On his left forearm he had an Ouroboros. For that reason and many others, I'm looking to get that tattooed on me. I haven't decided where it'll go and I have yet to find a design that I like. I am shit at drawing so designing my own isn't an option.

I want a Team Fortress Classic red team tatoo but I'm afraid of needles and have a low pain tolerance...

*edit* Oh wow this was bumped? I should really pay more attention to details!

Would all of the black in this picture not work out in a real tattoo?

Depends. The image currently can't be made smaller without making it look like a black blob. The eyes would probably be where the most trouble is and the batarang might as well be removed from the image. If the area it goes is exposed to the sun a lot it will also fade pretty badly.
And the image could probably use some work before giving it to a tattoo artist. Right now it kind of looks like he's wearing a giant black diaper and his shoulders look weird. There's also a weird white line that keeps appearing from his calf all the way down to the round part of the building that looks like bird shit.

This has been on my right shoulder going on 10 years now. Was going to get an Autobot on the other shoulder, but I never got around to it.

go talk to an artist tell him what you're looking for give him a few days to draw some stuff up for you. If you have any pics of ouroboros take them with you and show him. Thats really your best bet. Also don't be afraid of saying you don't like something he or she drew remember this is going to be on you forever. Sorry to hear about your brother man.

it will lighten up a little after its done peeling. Don't pick at it either just let it heal.

I need to get some pictures of mine. I've got around 40 now I think...My fingers were the last thing done a couple months ago.
Most of my stuff is traditional american sailor kinda stuff. Besides some random bad punk tattoos from my youth, and my cholo virgin mary on my ribs.

Thread bump fingers crossed I get my new tattoo tomorrow getting my pinup girl done finally after that my geisha girl will be up next. Can't wait to get it done!

ARGH. I want a new tattoo so bad, but I gotta stick to paying off my credit card debt before I make any big purchases. Once I get that squared away I can focus fully on my tattoos.

I don't have any, but I want this next one done on the back of my right arm. I want just the owl, and none of the other hooha. I also want just black, and maybe styled a bit differently so it stands out more. Yeah.

Sup guys. I got my first tattoo today.

Somewhat of a parting gift to myself as I finally leave Japan. It's the kanji "mugen" which translates to "infinite". The artist (Kozuru) has his own studio in Kujo in Osaka. An incredibly talented artist. I'm glad he gave me something really stylized.

I will take a picture of it sometime soon, but I tattooed my armpit last week. It's a lotus flower. It did not hold ink great, and I'm really not that interested in getting it touched up right now. It was not pleasant at all.

Here are my other two though.

The koi fish on my arm will eventually be made into a quarter sleeve.

Getting this on my right arm September 5th (i looked around for an artist I liked for almost a year before finding one, he was way backed up though so i had to schedule it in june

sorry the image is smudgy, my scanner is crappy. not sure what i'm going to do with the tail, plan on just letting the guy suggest something.

after this one, i'm getting a werewolf howling at the moon on my left arm, then a valkyrie on the left side of my back (the angel kind, not the tom cruise kind)

I've always been tempted by a tattoo, nothing major though but who knows how addicting it could be to me.

I'm a big mythology nut, particularly Egypt and Norse as well as the cultures that were around at the time, was gonna get one of these maybe:

mw8v7t.gif

The Shen has always led the pack, it's an Egyptian symbol associated with eternity, the cartouche comes from it. Leo is my birth sign and the other 2 are runes, Ansuz typically corresponds with Odin and Fehu (Fe) with Frejya.

They're just the symbols, not necessarily the design. Got absolutely no idea where I'd put them either. Inner forearm maybe? Seems a bit too cliche though.

Runic symbols are usually stacked for tattoos just FYI

I've been looking into getting a koi as a cover up to a shoulder tatt. the artist actually said he would have to do it facing down like what you have, but Ive always heard its bad luck. Not that I believe in that, but I don't want to be in some hot springs in Japan and have all the locals screaming bloody murder when I take off my shirt.

Sorry but why the fuck would you want to get "cow" tatted to your back. In chinese slang mandarin and canto it means strong but dumb. wth...... the cliche dragon would have worked even better.... I would start looking for a good laser removal doc asap.

If you feel you must tattoo Chinese words, then for goodness sake make sure that the words are not by someone who does not know Chinese.
