I did it!
General System Bus
is soooo beautiful. And
the building and the sky in the top of The Wall
is amazing.

I am now at that room Mandlebo was stuck in a couple of weeks ago. =/

Also, question. It only dawned on me yesterday but are the yellow and blue guides
Moon and Pebble respectively?

I just got to
Five Pebbles and Unfortunate Development and it's awesome. I love how the creature from the wall got shaped by gravity into this weird mass

Guys, just avoid
Unfortunate Development.
That's not the only way you can go.

did I miss something? I went both up and right after the save point and they both led to that place

Oh dear... I left just two tiny patches of that area uncovered, and I just found out that the smallest one was the entrance of the - oh, so beautiful! - alternative way. Thanks for the tip again, mate! :3

The ones that cross the room are harmless and can be grabbed like poles.
No, I was talking about the
walking blue x-eyed octopus-like creature, the ones you find even before finding Five Pebbles. :3

that part is legit great. Like, the visuals and
the ruined city in the background

makes you even more interested in what the hell happened

Just got this game based on the artwork I've seen and few reviews. Love the art style just grabbed me. Bout to start it up. Any pointers for clueless but interested guy goin in

Did you find
Pebble?

You mean the
pink alien? I've also found a huge flying golden squid thing that sent me back to the previous shelter.

Go with an open mind. This isn't your usual platformer. It will make you furious, but it will also blow you mind just like it did to me a few minutes ago.

You guys weren't kidding about the other route, it's like night and day.
they really should make it more obvious or maybe reverse them, because of the gravity you naturally go up in that room and dont even think theres stuff below

For
The Wall, I reached the chamber next to the exit gate, but I explored and found another big chamber below it with a save at the bottom and another room exit on top. I can't see a way to get up there, the poles just aren't close enough, but it seems like the plant is telling me that's where to go.

I spent so much time trapped in a farming up loop, thinking I finallyfound my way out of Chimney Canopy, only to discover its the way I came in. FML

Same, but I gave up trying and went
Chimney Canopy > Sky Islands > Farm Arrays > Drainage Systems

Y'all I just got through the very first karma gate and WHAT IN GOD'S NAME EVEN IS THE I
NDUSTRIAL

I made a huuuuge chunk of progress yesterday. Up to now, I hadn't accomplished anything for the story so had restarted several times. I had good saved map progress in a bunch of areas like
Drainage
,
Farm Arrays
,
Chimney Canopy
, and even found the
Shaded Citadel
and
Sky Islands
. The only problem? I couldn't find the damn
Garbage Wastes
. Finally found it and got to
Moon or whatever
and ate a
neuron
without even realizing the consequences. I lost my little helper and realized he wasn't coming back when I was running through the
Memory Crypts
So now I'm wondering if I should start over because
Shaded Citadel
was actually really easy for me and I know I can blitz back through pretty quickly.

Keep going through MC. You don't need a guide for the next bit.

Beat it. I don't know what happened in the end but that was an incredible sensory experience. Really, really awesome game. I feel drained

I just made it out of 5
pebbles and although I still punch the desk when I get chomped .1s after poking my head out of a hole, I see now how the karma system is so tied into the lore and story.
I'm not save scumming any more.
(I must have got gud)

Is there a way to get up to the crawl space in the ceiling here? I used to be able to do it by crawling into the dead-end tunnel above the exit, then jumping back out and grabbing on to the entrance to the tunnel that leads to the ceiling. I guess a patch has made it so that I can't enter the dead-end tunnel, and the pole seems to be too high to grab. Spears don't stick to the wall, either.

Can you long jump from the ridge and grab the pole hanging out? Seems like it would just be in reach.

No problem, this game has its fair share of platforming headscratchers. Plenty more to get stuck on!

Can someone explain if the
glowing fruit
in Shaded C have any other purpose besides
throwing them for illumination?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

!*@#%$ THIS GAME!!!

I'm stuck in this stupid small area in Sky Islands where I can't go back and can't go further because I need ranking. I've found a shelter right at the end of the area, at the entrance of the portal to Farm Arrays, but I need a certain ranking to cross that (which I did, but died latter and got sent back to the shelter). This stupid final area in Sky Islands is full of cables and small high platforms to jump from one to the other, and the only food options are two popcorn plants and bats. The thing is: you're completely exposed to the vultures that are ALWAYS around, and sometimes the game decides not to sent any bat to that area, even if the popcorn plants aren't available. So you're completely exposed with no places to hide from the vultures, really prone to falling from the cables and platforms to die, and frequently with no food available, and I can't go back and can't cross the gate.

ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

EDIT: again, no bats. Popcorn plants with no fruits.
EDIT 2: there are bats. Ate one. Vulture pushed me to death.
EDIT3: bats. Eate them and hibernated. Rank up. Woke up to hunt more. Managed to grab just one bat. Rank up (enough to cross the gate). Woke up again and tried to fill slugcat's belly before crossing the gate because theres no food going to the next hibernating chamber. No bats. Vulture killed me. Rank down. -_-'

Are you playing on PC? Use that mod I linked earlier.

It makes the game 100000000000000X better.

I was really thinking about using it, but OH MY GOD, after 24 hours of struggle, I finally left that hellish place. (ノ´д`)

It doesn't disable the rain or hunger, you still have to find food to actually save the game and progress. You just don't need to grind for Karma.

That's probably the best approach. I really would like to know what the game designers were thinking with this karma system. None of it is fun or thrilling. Pretty much one of the worst thought out subsystems I ever had to deal with.

I want to avoid using the mod as it may swing the pendulum too much in the other direction, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Picked this up tonight and holy shit this game is so far up my alley it's practically in my house. I'm only a couple shelters in and I'm already in love with this game.

I almost wanted to wait for the Vita version but playing it now on PS4 I feel like it'd be kinda hard to see everything on the Vita. Hoping for eventual cross-buy nonetheless.

HStallion

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Finally DLed this game on my PS4 and must say its as engrossing as expected. I wish I had more time to play this morning but I've got things to do. I must say its pretty unforgiving though I suppose I expected that as well. Those fucking green lizards in the starting area are tough to take down as my strategy of hucking rocks and the occasional spear doesn't really serve me well so far. I'm not sure if its me but I feel I'm always clinging to the ground and slowing myself down.

The Leg
was basically the worst thing ever. The section between the gate and the first save room resulted in an obscene number of deaths. I actually am at the final save right next to
The Underhang
now and am having difficulty finding a save room by the next max gate before I get rained on. However, I feel pretty confident with my lizard and
gigantic blue spider
avoidance skills. Game is still incredible and I keep restarting without fail and am still immensely enjoying my time with it. Game really has it's hooks in me.

I also now realize how difficult I was making life for myself by using only the dpad for movement. None of Slugkittys extra moves really work without the stick control. A good example is trying to backflip + tuck and roll + far jump combo. Super easy to do with the stick, basically impossible with dpad. I've been out turkey hunting but I think my next session with this tomorrow is going to feel like one of those unstoppable sessions.

HStallion

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
So just got killed by the rain for the first time. Are the only real safe spots the save rooms?

Have you seen these round, pale yellow flowers? Throw one of them and they will reach out and lower themselves so you can get on them.
Yeah, I noticed that they're attracted by that thing, but they're so tall even when they're seated.... I managed to hop over one once, but I slipped from its back. =/

They like the beige fruit. Throw it to lure them to your location and place another one on the ground to feed them. Grab onto their horns like you would a pole
.
You mean pressing up? I tried the X/Square button like when you grab something from the ground, but it didn't work.

So, er

Any news on the PS4 patch? I haven't played the game for a couple of weeks now because I was waiting for it to come out so I could stop hitting my head against The Wall, but I'm getting impatient... I just really want to make some progress, but I don't see why I should bother trying over and over again to open the Karma Gate when the patch'll make it so I can open it at the lowest rank.
