"Wow Kara sure beat me even though she was holding back and I was going ham !"

"I definitely wasn't weakened whatsoever and I was at full strength"

"Kara beat me so she's the champion of Earth !"

"Ooooh look at me I can't save a city ! But at least I'm able to beat a random punk ! <3"

"You're stronger than I'll ever be Kara"

Can they try to be any worse at this point ?

Have Supergirl be faster, smarter, less flawed as a human being would be a great idea, hammering the fact that Superman is basically worthless and pathetic in every way possible compared to her is about the worst thing you can do.

Kara literally outbrawling Superman for no reason while she's holding back on top of it all was just the last straw for me.

He sucks so hard in this universe. :/

I love both characters, and there has been maaaany stories where both can shine at the same time through different attributes, and it's really not what they're doing.

If you're gonna do this to Superman, how about you don't fucking have Superman at all ? Easy win win situation.

Blergh.

Sorry for the nerd Superman fan rant.

Yeah those lines were pretty hard to watch for me, also a big Superman fan. I get that Kara is the main character but they were really hammering how much better than Superman she is in every conceivable way.

I'll give the episode some credit for its fight scenes. Those kept me interested, when the character drama faltered. Anyone else giggled during the last three minutes with the cheesy song accompanying all the tears? Supergirl doesn't do melodrama well.

Season Finale Watch
- This "Previously on..." segment reminded me how bad the M'gann story was.
- Oh, exploring some more flavors of Kryptonite. I dig it.
- Yooooo. This is a slugfest.
- I like the color scheme they got for Lena's apartment. Maybe a little on the nose with the black/white duality, but I'm feeling it
- Eww, a M'gann subplot? Pls no
- Cat's "I've never seen Star Wars" joke almost went over my head until I remembered she's married to Han Frickin' Solo lol
- This episode killed all its momentum. We had an alien invasion and evil Superman, and that got wiped clean so Kara can 1v1 a middle aged woman. And we already know Kryptonians are stronger.
- Genuinely surprised they seemingly wrote Mon-el out of the show.
- She knows!

That ending stinger sure was something lol. The last scene with Kara was well done but the black cloak and flame baby stuff was hahaha. And I guess Mon-el is in the future and will come back with an immunity to lead? *Shrug*

The special effects and mostly flying were really well done. Especially for TV.

The Kara fight at the end against Teri was pathetic though but that was a minor part.

The rest was rather cringe. The goodbye with mon-el did not work at all.

Also why is Cat Grant the best thing in this show ? How did they manage that ? I watch this on and off and I've skipped at least a dozen episodes but she's like a constant.

The show is really not working for me because it keeps falling for the same tropes over and over and over and I'm getting tired of it.

i still like him as superman...

He could work as Superman.

I just hate how they have to shit on him 100% to make Kara look better, instead of having both do great things and have Kara be a notch above. So that you're impressed with both characters, because they're both amazing. Not "oh wow he sucks... Guess she's really much better after all".

He has nothing over her. Experience was the only thing left and... Well he still rushes head first into obvious traps, he can't fight for shit, and he admits his moral is compromised because of Lois.

Yuck.

How did you get that?

That's why I said seemingly. I mean once the wormhole popped up I knew it'll circle back to him being able to come back to Earth somehow. Even if that hadn't happened, they'd still put him back somehow. That's why I was annoyed with the episode spending so much time on this agonizing decision when you know it doesn't mean anything. When they first setup the idea of the lead poisoning the atmosphere I was surprised they'd even introduce that idea because the only purpose to having that AND the trial by combat is to get rid of Mon-el from the story. If you wanted to write out Rhea, just play the trial straight.

The Martian romance and marriage proposal both felt incredibly lazy. Two things that could've been saved for another time so they could have their proper moment.

On the positive side, the effects work and fights were well done.

So is Mon-el going to travel into the future, start the Legion of Superheroes and then travel back in time before Kara showed up and help superman someway so he gave him the ring that is in the fortress.

Then they can have,"when I seen him at the DEO, I already knew him, but he didn't know me" moment next season.

Thats their only move because Kara and the show absolutely suck outside of her personality(and Lena).
It feels like the show has no purpose compared to even Flash and Arrow's worst seasons.

I really liked Mon-El before he got sucked into Kara's orbit. Some of the early scenes between him and Winn were promising signs of a good bromance (and they arguably have more chemistry than Winn and James do). But alas, it wasn't to be.

I did like the juxtaposition of Kara's sacrifice vs Clark's. Perhaps it's just me finishing up with Injustice 2, but I don't see Clark every willingly sacrificing Lois. I know they probably show he can do so in the comics, but in THIS universe it could've worked well. I liked how it works for this show, and I wish they had played on that difference rather than "Hey, you're stronger than me!". Kara can be stronger than Kal is ways other than physical.

I wonder how much more time and money they got for the finale than a normal episode, the fights were much longer and more impressive than normal.

This is fucking garbage. I don´t mind that Kara defeated Superman, it´s what comes after that makes this shit so insufferable. Making Supes to be this useless is utterly nonsense. Also Kara actually pressed the button that would have killed many living beings, and lol it was shown as she is making a sacrifice? Utter garbage. Superman would not do it not because of what this stupid version of him said. He would not do it because he would not kill living life forms indiscriminately like that.

This destroys Superman as a character that is known for decades. Garbage show with garbage Superman.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Mediocre end to a bad season. Yikes....

...did Jimmy even had a spoken line in the final ? lol....cant remember but i dont think so. Though he would at least interact with Clark for a bit.

I agree....they had to throw the one good part about S2 with Superman under the bus to make Kara look good....ridiculous. Girl was getting beaten up and screwing over the whole season and for the finale they show her as some Uberpresence compared to Clark when she was the one fangirling him whenever he wasnt on screen.

If Kara is the strongest Kryptonian on this earth...they really are screwed.

Yeah, but then you just know they'd pair up Mon-El with Caitlin.

Don't you mean Killer Frost.

The opening fight was good and you could tell they saved some budget for the finale, but it didn't really have the impact they were going for. I was never fully invested in the Mon-El/Kara romance, so him having to leave wasn't a big deal for me. It didn't really help they fought for like half the season, before fully getting together.

Damn Maggie has Alex sprung. I love the dimples too, but a marriage proposal so soon?

Glad they confirmed Cat knowing Kara's real identity.

Season 3 definitely needs a better villain arc/story direction.

If Kara were smart, she'd have called Barry to bring Mon-El to Earth 1.

Yeah that would of been the best solution (especially since Supergirl could of done some inter-dimensional date nights like Wally did) though sometimes people don't always make the best or most logical solution when they don't have a lot of time to fully think something out.

Well, she is.

Same as in the comics.

Is that true ? I dont see how it makes sense in the show when he was already Superman when she arrived at earth, He must have had way more experience fighting with power of Sun and all.

Well, he is hot. I'd date him.

Of course.

Didn't know he and Kara were together outside the show.

Yes. They started dating a couple of months ago.

What an asshole. Although, I think my wife would understand if I left her for Melissa Benoist. I think her crush on Melissa is stronger than mine.

It is not really his fault. Melissa's husband had no chemistry with his own wife when he appeared on Supergirl last year.

Kara was a teenager when she left Krypton. It's only fair to assume that she had a better starting point for her powers/DEO training.

Who's the asshole? Melissa? Her husband? It's not Chris Wood's fault he's handsome and charming, he doesn't force women to fall in love with him. At least I hope he doesn't, Mxyzptlk style.

She had less. No powers on Krypton.

She wasnt a UBERMensch on Krypton...no way she would have had more fighting experience than Clark when he was Superman for years on Earth and already dealed with Lex and Co. He pretty much grew up with his powers and Sunlight from the beginning.

She is quite the noob in the first season and when talking about Clark they arent subtile about him being superior to her - the last episodes have shown nothing that would put her suddenly above him.

Season 3 definitely needs a better villain arc/story direction.
Look how fucked the villain position was this season.
Unless a new crew is brought in that ain't getting fixed.

It's like they had written 2/3+ of the season until someone finally pointed out that they didn't have a real villain at all.
5 seasons of Arrow, 3 seasons of Flash, 2 seasons of Legends and the 2nd season of Supergirl is the worst villain of all.

Makes Arrow's Ra's al Ghul look like a masterpiece by comparison.
