Apart from the two Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic RPG's, I really think Bioware has never made a good game. Decent at best.

Naughty Dog games are not as great as everyone makes them out to be. Yes, their games are visually stunning and well written but they're missing that 'it' factor. They leave me wanting.

On your vision...

You mean he should get glasses, so that he realizes how he is missing out on good graphics and has to buy an expensive TV to compensate ?

Reminds me of a friend in the mid 90s when the first mp3 players (RIO and friends) started coming out.
They were expensive and came with like 16MByte of storage.
My friend, who was completely deaf on one ear since birth, thought his handicap was a positive.

He encoded his music in MONO and could fit twice as many songs on his player without any loss of quality.

True story.

Thrasher: Skate And Destroy is better than THPS1.

THPS4 is the all time best skateboarding game, not THPS2 or 3, and not Skate either. Underground and Underground 2 round out the top 3.

OH Boy..where do I begin..

First off, I think abe's oddesy is a boring game, jak and daxter is overrated,
The best final fantasy was IV, and anything after X is crap.

I have tons more but you gotta give me time.

I just don't like anything about the DS. The DS had some of the worst versions of major Nintendo franchises ever released (NSMB, Metroid Prime Hunters, Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Tracks), and almost every 3D game on the platform was ugly and controlled poorly.
It had good Pokémon and the Phoenix wright games,
Sure it had a lot of crap
But it had a lot of decent stuff too.
Professor Layton,
And several others I'm too tired to think of.

Star Wars: Episode 1 on PS1 was a good game. It was glitchy but I really like the game. Mos Espa levels are the best part:

They were open and the game didn't tell you where to go.

I think that guy's post was from 2012 but I always felt this way until I recently got all excited about playing GBA games on my CFW 3DS. I realized that I had all of these warm feelings towards the GBA that were somewhat unwarranted. I always thought it was "vastly superior" to the DS until I recently went back and took a hard look at each of their libraries. There's much more I'd rather play on DS now. One of these days I need to go back and take a look at the GB/GBC to see how much nostalgia affects my view of those too.

I do agree that the quality of Nintendo's first party output hit a downturn on the DS, however (Advance Wars: Dual Strike is the only Nintendo-related title on the system that I can think of that is probably the best game in the franchise). Ignoring the CDi, those DS Zelda titles are by far my least favorite of the past 30 years.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Star Ocean 4 and Final Fantasy XIII are great and fun games!

Last of us is possibly the single most overrated game I've ever played. It's story is full of tropes that wouldn't stand up in a movie.

It's gameplay is nowhere near as clever or intricate as people think it is (those bin moving 'puzzles' are pathetic). The objective plot points in the game don't work well with the overarching story.

First party Sony games are only ok.

I'm not saying they are objectively bad games. They just aren't for me. I want much more gameplay than story and cinematics.

The Zune was so much better than the iPod in just about every way but marketing. It was the superior piece of hardware that you looked like a complete dork for using.
I had the 30GB brown one, LOVED IT

I'd give them Jade Empire and Mass Effect 1 as well, but I'll agree that they've made more underwhelming games than great ones.

I'd say that everything after Dragon Age: Origins was crap but everything before that game was quite good.

Related, I think all of their RPGs would have been better with a turn based battle system, similar to the old SSI AD&D games. Same goes for the current crop of CRPGs

Turn Based Combat can exist, but it shouldn't be paired with Random Encounters anymore.
I don't mind Random Encounters as long its not too crazy often that you can't even take two steps before enemy encounter or at very least you can control how often you get encounters like in Bravely Default.

Fuck video walkthroughs.

Fuck them so bad. Apart the fact that it's always huge friggin' pain to go browse the video to look for the exact puzzle solution you're looking for (it's was SO GOOD just doing CTRL+F and immediately finding the right spot on GameFAQs), I just got myself a big fucking spoiler on the game I'm currently playing thanks to an idiot youtuber's thumbnail choice.

Fuck everyone who does walkthroughs on youtube.

pretty sure I played this game like 20 times when I was younger.

Also Zelda games in general are boring and uninspired.

Tombi! (or Tomba! depending on where you're from) is one of THE BEST PS1 games ever made and it's an absolute tragedy that it doesn't have much in the way of awareness or recognition that it deserved. It's also a crime that it was only made available on the NA psOne classics store on PS3 and in no other region or even ported to PS4.

Also, MGSV TPP Would've have been perfectly fine if they cut all that Motherbase Bullshit, Helicopter intro and cinema snobbery intro credits every mission and if they cut all the rehashed missions.

I have never and likely will never complete a Rockstar Game. I just can't get into their titles... never cared much for GTA and absolutely hated the controls and western aesthetic for Red Dead. I know... I know... I'M SORRY.

Nintendo has no idea how to make engaging gameplay mechanics and hasn't for decades. BotW is the best example. Everything from the traversal mechanics to the combat mechanics to the "puzzles" are mediocre-to-bad and completely outclassed by other games (e.g. Gravity Rush's traversal mechanics are miles better than the options in BotW). Moreover, they have no idea how to design boss fights either. Again, look at BotW and compare it to say, Shadow of the Colossus. Both games have a focus on climbing but only one game actually uses it to create fun and memorable boss fights. No fight in BotW can measure up to Avion in SotC.

Matsuno and Akhiko Yoshida are the best things to happen to Final Fantasy. I can't believe this series has received as much praise as it has when the writing in most games, including VI, is just utter shit. Goofiness has no place in what's supposed to be a dark plot. Cyan's wife and son die one moment, the next moment Sabin is poking fun at him for being scared of machines and then in the next moment, they're fighting a talking train. All the while you're bogged down by the tired and rote ATB-system even though Square desperately tried to make it less boring by incorporating more action into it (e.g. Sabin's combos).

Assassins Creed Unity is the best of the current gen AC-games. Its combat feels fast and brutal, you can really feel how your weapon slices enemies' bodies. The graphics are 'Wow!'. The world is brimming with details and lore.

Meanwhile, Syndicate had a boring story, killed traversal with its hookshot, and combat felt extremely stiff. Moreso than Unity, it forced you to grind to match enemies' levels. The world lacked 'love', considering how rich of history the real London is.

Origins completely gives up on story ('they killed my son!' x100) and has an empty, vast world where no place feels meaningful. The cutscenes were the most boring of any AC-game, no music, no exciting characters or camera angles. An ugly Cleopatra didn't help either. Combat relied entirely on your level, you're forced to do sidequests.

If one played these games in reverse-releade order, he'd think 'wow, Ubisoft is getting better and better!'. As is, it's a tragedy.

Nintendo has no idea how to make engaging gameplay mechanics and hasn't for decades.

I mean .. sure, Jan. 🤔

I think Nintendo is a boring company who makes boring games and boring consoles. They feel like an ancient dinosaur that are about to become extinct, but survives due to a loyal following and a couple of innovative hardware ideas. In areas that other companies excel, like online, voice chat or simple things like your account, Nintendo fumbles around in the dark with no clue about anything. In short, they suck ass.
