Borderlands 2 announced for PS VR, where is the Switch version!?

WoW! Borderlands 2 has been ported to everything but a toaster at this point. The newest version drops on PS VR in December 2018, and guess what...it looks good!!!

We know Randy Pitchford and 2k love money the same way Scrooge McDuck does, so where in the hell is the Switch version of Borderlands?

Hell, even Nvidia Shield has a version. If Randy hasn't noticed there is a lack of bigger 3rd party AAA games on the not even 2 year old Switcheroo...perfect opportunity to sell some Borderlands prior to the release of Borderlands 3.

The Vita port wasn't received well because of poor performance and visuals, but given the fact that Nintendo fans are far more 'forgiving' of such things (Doom and Wolfenstein say hello), they should definitely give the Switch a shot.

Also, here's the trailer since it isn't in the OP:

I guess this is what Sony meant when they said they'll be focusing on fully fledged games for the PSVR going forward.

Damn, I never actually played the 2nd game and was thinking of picking up a PSVR when they're even cheaper next year. This could be cool.

This is such garbage. Why does PSVR get all the good games? I guess I have to wait a year or more to get this on a decent VR system.

I'll definitely grab this, but I've played through BL2 more than a dozen times across all characters/versions. Gonna be fighting some major burnout to play this. Skyrim VR all over again.

I do like borderlands so I can see me getting this at some stage.

Bioshock would be excellent in vr as its got some serious atmosphere, metro also, there's so many last gen games that would suit vr. Keep em coming sony.

I'd think BL2 would run fine on Switch anyway. Vita was way less powerful than 360/PS3, Switch is more powerful than those. Different architecture so the port may be a lot of work, but they should be able to get it to run well I'd think if they have the time/budget.

got to milk borderlands 2 to help make borderlands 3 right!

There's not enough VR titles these days, might aswell port an old game!

Wow megaton! Psvr aim compatible?
The trailer showed hand interactions, so it's seems it's PS Move compatible. Hopefully they allow all control options, Dualshock 4 and PS VR Aim included.

Also if this is going to be released, maybe Bioshock VR will not be a pipe dream anymore!

Port-begging in the thread titles now?

Because Sony is the only company that delivers quality and affordability with VR. ;)

The game has performance issues on the base PS4 which weren't fixed by any patch. The framerate still likes to drop when you're using the scope or looking at a lot of bodies (I'm talking about solo play, don't know if co-op is even worse). It makes me wonder how big of a downgrade they'll make for the VR version.

Well, I don't know about that. Affordability? Sure. Quality? Eh. If Sony let devs use the pspro for vr we would see great things. As it stands, performance is an issue. And room-scale is on another level entirely.

They sure get some great games.

But still, the best VR games are spread across different platforms, and that's bad. There is no clear dominant platform (even though the only sane choice for VR is going the pc route. With a Vive and revive you can play any game, with the expection of psvr exclusives).

are you telling me you think a system thats multiple times stronger than a 360 would have the same performance issues as a handheld weaker than a 360?

a good chunk of why borderlands 2 was criticized was because of the control scheme due to the lack of L1/R1 and L3/R3, which the switch has.

I absolutely loved Skyrim VR, so I am in for this on day 1. Is there any mention of online co-op?

Why just Borderlands 2? Surely they could've crammed the first game and the "pre-sequel" in as well.
Because BL2 is the only good one
Im only half serious, BL1 was ok. It didnt grab my attention like 2 did and the presequel was a major downgrade from bl2 imo, and it doesnt help they had a season pass but stopped making dlc after the second dlc due to lack of sales

This would be so fun! I wish I could afford a PS4 Pro and the whole VR suite...I would love to play this and Resident Evil 7 in VR (so long as my heart could take it!)

Finally, another reason to use VR! I really liked BL2 so I'm game~

This and Home Sweet Home will make sure I actually use my PSVR this year.

Room Scale VR is fantastic... if you have the room, the money needed for both the PC and the headset, and then the price for the game itself. PSVR is far more affordable, works fantastic for its price point, and ultimately is the better option for most gamers. Also it has physical games which is always a bonus for me.

Yes, the Vive and the Oculus may be more technologically impressive, but that doesn't mean much when the vast majority can't afford it.

RE7 VR can be done on PC btw.

I'm unfortunately out of luck when it comes to PC gaming, as I have the 5K Retina Display iMac. It's awesome for Photoshop and pretty much everything else, but gaming? Not so much... :/

Actually that thing can play games pretty good at least looking online it seems to be able to play GTA V at 60+fps. If it's the Radeon 580 you're actually able to do VR at around a 1060 level.

Awesome, thanks! I'll have to look into it some more!

You are right. In all seriousness though, since it is already on Nvidia shield, it wouldn't take much work to have a better version on Switch. Also, the Switch version would crush the PSVR version in terms of units sold. I think we can all agree on that.

In all honesty, I loved borderlands 2 at release. The dlc is stellar and the late game stuff with Co op is fantastic. I would dare to say that it should sale as much or more than Doom. It's a fantastic game but I'm sure tons of people already played it.

i really don't understand devs, porting to psvr over vive

like re7, now this

so weird
Short answer: $ony
Long answer: re7 is a giveaway as an exclusivity with sony. But maybe with this project its more like sony approqched gearbox to make a vr game, or maybe gearbox prefers to milk bl2 for everything it can get before they finally (and may never) make bl3

Because PSVR has a larger user base. It has sold double of Vive and Oculus and a bit more than both combined. It isn’t like Vive doesn’t have exclusives either... be happy with what you got!

Why no Vive+Rift? :(

Also, definitely would buy a Switch port. Really, to me the biggest mistake when it comes to the Switch is how Nintendo hasn't been able to get enough 3rd party support. Ports are acceptable to me, because the Switch is a portable that I can take on the fly, meaning that I'd easily buy a game I already own just on that basis alone.
