Originally, yeah. Got overturned to a month.

Why aren't you fellas in era? The footy thread is active over there

You have been banned for the following reason: Personal attack, attempt to establish user's identity, long history of infractions. Ban extended after review. Your ban will be lifted on May 22, 2018.

I saw this community thread, expecting it to be about American Football, but nope it's actually football. I've completely fallen off watching club football, with my zest for Liverpool having dwindled over the years and my interest in norwegian football being low. I mostly follow the WC and a few Norwegian national team matches. Honestly, I've always preferred playing it to, watching it, but I had some interest in club football when I was younger. Any idea how you guys manage to care about club football? Is it the sustained interest that keeps it going?

I can't speak for club football, although my extended family all watch it. I'm just passing by for potential World Cup talk (I wonder if there will be a thread), which is basically when I pay attention, every four years. I'm a follower of Australian Football (AFL) mostly.

I see that Norway didn't qualify for this one, that's too bad! Hopefully we will see both of our countries make it together in 2022 buddy. In the short term feel free to jump on the Australian bandwagon if you want, although we're not expected to progress.

The premier league is back, football is back on television (atleast here in the UK) lets bring this topic back!

Although I'm a Bolton wanderers fan myself (currently stuck in the championship)... I do watch the premier league week by week on MOTD.

so anyone have any predictions... winning team, teams to be relegated?

I don't watch much Premier League, but just looking at the transfer window, not much has changed.

The only team that strengthened was Liverpool. United got Fred but that's it, Tottenham signed literally nobody, Chelsea isn't strong enough to challenge for the league. Arsenal, well, it's Arsenal.

The only wild card is the Sarri factor along no Champions League, and Liverpool really having all their signings keep them up and be consistent the entire year.

But yeah, itll be again Manchester City by a margin.

I think Mahrez strengthen's City even more. I don't see anyone touching them barring a hellish run of injuries. Liverpool got much better, but not enough to challenge them if City stays mostly healthy. The then it's a three team battle for the rest of the top 4 between Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal. I'm guessing United will get third and Chelsea and Arsenal will be fighting for 4th with their coaching changes and uncertainty.

I'm an Arsenal fan and semi-optimistic about the season. Just hard to know what to expect with as new manager with a new philosophy and so many changes (especially on defense) to the roster. Many fans seemed down on them after the City game Saturday, but they were never going to win that. Losing away at Chelsea this weekend wouldn't mean much either, though an away win or draw could be a nice confidence boost). It's really the run of matches after that one which will be telling as they don't pay another top table team until Liverpool on November 3rd. So it's trial by fire to start with City and then away at Chelsea, and then we can see how Emery's tactics and the new players start working out as they get more matches against teams they should mostly be beating or at least drawing on paper.

So, my footy friends, the Champions League has started.
Im looking foward to see my team play today like usual even after last year's super embarassing feat with 0 points on the group stage (can you guess wich team is that? :messenger_grinning_squinting:)

For some reason, I knew there had to be a Footy Thread on GAF and I would find you guys here.

Have been messing around here more and more in the last few weeks. It's a little slower than ERA but the moderation is so much better.

Yeah, but there's hardly anyone posting in the football thread. I have to go to reddit for a bit of Juve chat. :/

No idea how to get added, though. Think you had to PM Syder for an invite but that got a little bit harder to do as of last night.

Still funny, though.
