Chris Fehn from SlipKnot kicked out of the band

http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/slipknot-officially-parts-ways-with-chris-fehn/

I know a lot of people kinda of dont like Slioknot as they are considered nu-metal but this pisses me off as a fan from the early beginning. I was there from the MFKR album onwards, seen them live multiple times. And then about before the release of the previous album, this "business" side of things became serious. I dont know what the truth is but everyone knows Clown and Corey are running the show and are money hungry. These were brothers brought up from nothing and its shitty money kills all that away.

Jim left Stone Sour because Corey wanted more cash and more tours to get as much as possible. They kicked Joey out, now Chris....it was a band I thought would stick together minus the one death which you really cant count on. Shame.

You think you can kick me out of the band? Sorry I love this bit.

Edit: Just watched this at home, sorry about the....asian subtitles. I forgot that he did that in one take. Makes me laugh every time lol.

This the guy who banged the occasional barrel?

Totally. I saw them live (admittedly--a long time ago) and I'd say maybe four or five of them actually did anything significant music-wise. The others either sat still (pin head guy-- Craig?) or jumped around on things, occasionally hitting a beer keg which you couldn't hear.

Corey has always been a douche. I used to be scared of slipknot as a kid and the vocalist turns out to be some douche who whines about rap music and watches rick & morty. Also this.

Their first album was good and that's it.

Pop and rap music do suck for the most part, though.

I always thought a few of them were stealing a living. As you say, basically doing nothing.

I’m not defending Chris but isn’t one of Slipnots selling points is the amount of band members onstage at once?

Nobody can agree on what their first album is and nobody said Iowa was the first.
If anyone can agree that 1999 happened before 2001 and if we can assume that every year come sequentially on a base 10 logic one after the other; and looking at their discography; we can say that 1999 was the year of their first publicly released album. Their first album was called "Slipknot". Iowa came second in 2001.

Beside 1 song here and there, they haven't released a single good album anyway.

Corey is, and has always been a douchecanoe. The band got markedly worse after he joined. I was at the battle of the bands concert at the Safari Club and to the first Dotfest they played (sans Corey). They were awesome in my 16 year old mind at least.

I dig Slipknot, imperfections and all. I like most of the music, love some of it, and really connect with it when I'm pissed off. I own all their albums.

Never saw em live, tho.

They need to completely reinvent their sound to be good again.

I stopped caring about Slipknot a couple albums ago.

To add to my post above, I will say that yeah, it was at least a very good performance. Very high energy and a lot going on on-stage. Pales in comparison to other masked acts, but they're a good band if you're into going nuts and moshing, something I've always enjoyed (regardless of the music).

EDIT:
Anyway, is the loss of another member even a big deal at this point? I stopped following this band after their third album, and even on the third one they sounded basically nothing like they had before. I recall their "debut" album as a standout due to the grit, loudness, and anger it portrayed, and the third one had a fuckin' ballad on it.

I would imagine any change to the band at this point is meaningless since Corey Taylor successfully transformed it into Stonesour, the band he was trying to make big before he even heard of Slipknot.

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
In a band with nine dudes, of whom five do anything, what's one less name on the list? Did he matter musically?

damn that sucks being in a band for this long just for someone to get kicked out for petty shit. and yeah corey seems like a massive hand job. ive been a fan of this band for a long time and my tastes have lets say evolved but ill always enjoy their music just because its just cheesy music thats catchy

Haven't really been a fan of these guys in a long time, but it's hard to be broken up about this. Chris contributed almost nothing to their sound -- the losses of Joey and Paul (who was a primary songwriter, as I understand it) hit way harder. This is just a minor bump in the road.

They could have brought some random dude on stage and put the Chris mask on him and pretend nothing changed ... because we all know nobody would actually notice haha "rim-shot with trash-can lid"

jokes aside, i do think Chris was a bigger part of the band than most people know. He did the back up vocals live and probably aided in the song-writing process at some points. He's one of the original members, so it means a lot in many ways. I think it's sad that the whole fiasco was about MONEY of all things ... taxes and money, the deal of the devil, I say.

I'm still bummed out about Joey getting kicked out of the band ... still totally uncalled for.

They could thin the herd a bit, not sure why they ever needed 15 people in their band

well thats the fucking point this stupid ass band doesnt need that many members but it does. thats what makes it fun. when people try to get serious with it is why this band sucks. its a shitty nu metal band but its like just be fun with it. have band mates that do nothing who cares

Maybe he should join corey taylor's other band "stone sour".

You mean like Jim Root did and then he quit the band because he said they were to money focused and wanted faster album releases for quicker cash? Yeah I think right about now I get that Corey became a businessman first and friend later.

This upcoming tour may be your last chance to see them. You never know. They put on a great show.

That's what I hear and why I'm going to see them this summer. I'm not a super fan or anything, but I dig some of their stuff. It's pretty good gym music when you need to bust out that last heavy set. Some of their stuff will pump you the fuck up.
