Stranger Things Season 3 Offical Trailer

I know it's only the trailer, but that looked so much fucking better than season 2.

Steve looks to be in a lot of trouble though. Better not kill him off as he is by far the best character on the show.

Also, Nancy and Mike's mum looks incredible

They overuse the nose bleeding shit. I hope it only happens one time.

Agreed. She should be working up a tolerance by this point. Something as simple as moving toys around should be nothing for her. Nosebleeds should be saved for the extreme stuff.

And the kids don't even react to it, which is always annoying.

I wasn't a fan of most of Season 2, so I am hoping this is more like the first season. Really didn't care for the majority of Eleven's subplot with the others. Honestly, I just want to see more of Steve/Dustin bro friendship.

That trailer brought me back to that time. So many memories in the age before the interweb and social (media) regression. They do such a good job with continuity and the props.

Season two was fine guys, I don't get the hate.

Looks amazing : I hope the same day release game is decent too.

That episode 7 really brought it down.
Even the 80’s aesthetic seemed to be missing from that episode.

I do think that this should be the last season of stranger things with this cast. They should finish their story and maybe do something different in season 4.
I enjoyed the first two seasons though so I'm gonna watch the new one for sure.

Going from amazing to “fine” is the exact reason for the hate.
Fair, but as the years past and everything goes up a level I try to keep my expectations in check.
Season two wasn't the same as one but it's still far more enjoyable than most anything else out there IMO.
The bar for everything now is just so damn high.

Ah didnt know there was a divide. I enjoyed the change of pace personally

I haven’t watched the S3 trailers yet, just finished S2 and sharing some LTTP thoughts:

Finally watched S2. Thought it was great. I would probably rate it slightly ahead of S1. I now understand all the divisiveness around “that episode” that I heard about (episode 7). I thought it was kinda cool but definitely felt like a somewhat jarring tonal/thematic shift at a really odd time. We go from Hopper seeing a demodog paw pop up in the lab to Eleven and pals playing X-Men Outcasts.

I’m not gonna lie though, I kinda liked it. I wouldn’t mind more of that, or a spin-off show, but it felt like an odd fit for this season.

I thought Billy was a good addition this season. There was something sinister about him beyond just being a bully type.

What’s up with Steve always getting his ass kicked?

Good stuff, gonna watch the trailers and get ready for S3 now

Edit

Also, I thought Winona Ryder was WAY better in S2. She was the worst part of S1 fo me, just didn’t find her performance compelling. Much better this time.

Another thing I like about S2 is I wasn’t mostly just interested in El and her powers. Yeah, all that was cool, but between Billy, Max, Lucas, Steve, Nancy, Jonathan, and Dart there were plenty of things going on that entertained/interested me.

Side note: I don’t like Nancy and Jon as a couple. Like Nancy and Steve more

Edit 2

Wow this trailer gave me chills. Great music

on about episode 5/6 of s3.... just not loving it as much as i used to. season 2 and 3 both feel pretty different from s1. and they just never offer enough answers, or what answers they do give arent satisfying. i just feel like the show could be handled better, its shot really well, but the story is a bit amateur imo. every aspect and beat feels really rushed, with no forethought between seasons. i dunno, the relationships, char development, conflicts etc, feel a bit hamfisted and in your face, which makes me think its Netflix's doing.

also, whats with characters having amnesia. its like they forget the shit thats gone on just 6-12 months later.

personally i preferred the handling of s1's upside down/demogorgon because it felt more horror and adventure. now the show feels TOO supernatural/sci fi.

also i think as the budget boomed and netflix gave more of a shit adding their input, it spread the roles and characters out thinly to develop them all and their arcs evenly - feels a bit too game of thrones'y'..... rather than do more with less screentime for certain characters, its more force everyone to have equal screentime even though some arcs arent as strong or require as much screentime. I also think a lot of storybeats are not as developed. i think the amount of separation each group has just constantly breaks the viewers immersion.

i dunno - i'm certainly enjoying it, but its yet to repeat it's interest level for me since S1

I can't say I liked this season. It was just OK. Season 1 was perfection, 2 was good, almost great, and this season was the same story told in a slightly different way.

There was little lore or backstory, or explanation of motivations. It was a highly forgettable season that added almost nothing to the stranger things universe. Still somewhat entertaining, though,

Yeah, they need to change the direction of the show, the upside down, the same monter over and over, etc. First season was cool because there was the upside down/demogorgon but also the human baddies (Eleven's Papa). Now it's always the same monster in a different way. Please give us something new.
