Fuck I wish I had a decent gaming PC to run this. Oh well I'll have have to make do with a base PS4 like the rest of the peasants (at least its not a base Xbone in all its 900p glory at least).

Yes but after leaving the game and restarting windows later on, it changed back to "pre-load...". Tells me the games is not released yet when I try to launch it.

If anyone's already playing, can you please check if the game supports 16:10 (black bars or not, doesn't matter), specifically 1680x1050?

It does, no black bars.
EDIT: Nvm, there are black bars, for some reason I didn't even realize but the game supports the resolution.

I don't know if I'm going to like this game or not. After watching gameplay it just seems boring. Like a poor man's Nioh. Like you only have one type of attack their is not even a strong attack. No equipment. I think a big thing also is it takes place in a real world location which I feel From Software is so much better at fantasy or dark locations.

That sucks. I'd throw a fit with their support if I were you. They're giving away a Sekiro letter opener at the stores.

I can't wait to fire this game up. It's been years since Yharnam.

I had a few words with the head district manager. We'll see what happens.

I launched the game thinking I would play for an hour and then get back to Division 2. Four hours gone by in the blink of an eye.

This is a great game.

Gonna take a break, knock out some dailes in Div2, then dive back into Sekiro

Kamina

Golden Boy
Been playing for about 6 hours now.
Had to beat several bosses already, most of them from the demo and preview builds. Fuck that game is hard though.
I am so used to dodging, but that doesn’t help all the time.

So would you guys say it's harder than bloodborne or dark souls? Some are saying it is and some are saying it's easier lol

The satisfaction and rush I feel when beating a boss or surviving a tough encounter against multiple enemies is something I haven’t felt in a long time.

My blade is thirsty for more.

Harder than Dark Souls, about equal to BB.

I was gonna compare it to BB but I never finished any Souls game or BB so I figured I’d let someone else answer first.

I play each Souls game for a few hours before kind of flaming out. I played BB for about 28 hours until I hit a boss I couldn’t beat.

This has me hooked more than any Souls game and hooked me quicker than BB did

If anyone on Steam is having issues after starting the game where the display is stretched out showing only the top left and you get flickering then what to do is go into Nvidia control panel, enable DSR 1.20x, and restart the game. Fixed it for me! You can disable DSR afterwards.

Ended up getting it on my Pro. Seems like my laptop wasn't going to run it any better anyway.

First game I've pre loaded this gen and this sucks..... it's right there on my home screen but I can't play it for another hour an half at which point it's going to be too late (1AM over here)

You made the best decision of your life right there. The PC version is literally unplayable for so many because the controllers can't get detected.

You mean lock the framerate at 30?

No. I mean unlock so i can play at 144 fps.
Oh well. Dark souls 3 was locked at 60hz so i guess sekiro is the same.
Unlocked fps, higher refresh rate support, ultra wide support is the bare minimum you should expect in a PC game.

there are strong attacks, its just that nobody is using it even on streams which is weird since they're pretty op as usual

tbh there are attacks for every single movement / prosthetic weapon used in the game, aswell as the basic grappling hook move, people simply suck for now

like i cant believe the amount of posts complaining about low damage etc when said people dont even seem to use consumables. they give you a lot of for a reason, on top of that they're actually pretty potent

the usual stuff i guess

Played a bit tonight.
Pretty fun.
Bloodborne is probably better/more interesting (similar feel).
On par with NiOh, very similar.
Overall an 8/10 for me so far.

Loving this game! It's difficult in a good way but a lot of fun and runs amazing on PC.

It would be nice if we could go beyond the 60fps cap tho (144Hz monitor) and increase the FOV a bit.

Edit: was noticing some black trails / ghosting when playing this and turns out disabling Overdrive on my monitor fixed it, apparently its only an issue due to the 60fps cap (overdrive works well at 120+fps).

I like it. I ran around like a rat out of a cage, not knowing where to go. Then I died. I ran out of my items thinking I was going to die/restart. It takes me back to Tenchu 2. I love the setting, the Sengoku period. It reminds me of Devil Kings or Sengoku Basara. I can't wait to play more...

I like the way he can maneuver around the environment. Which puts it above Nioh in my books.

I'd definitely watch out for spoilers if you plan on watching more footage.

Don't know what it is about From software games but I always feel a urge to play them and immediately regret it after a few hours. Haven't beat bloodbourn or a single souls game yet. Way to hard and I get frustrated.

Going to pick this up tomorrow if I can find it.

Golgo 13

The Man With The Golden Dong
Played for 4 hours straight on my first session and I’m hungry for more.

I forgot how brilliant From Software games can be.

About 2 hours in so far. At this point I don't really know what else to say but yeah its a From Software game. The base mechanics haven't change much since Demon Souls so if that isn't your cup of tea then Sekiro won't be either. It plays faster, there is a narrated plot, characters talk (slightly) more, setting seems more medieval than Souls' fantasy style, but none of these points matter if Souls-like genre isn't what you're looking for.

Can't comment on difficulty yet, but I do think the game will generally turn out to be easier and mass-friendly than Souls and Bloodborne.

There's only one thing I need to know before I'm getting this game. I am going to get it on PC, however considering back when DS3 came out, I have had some weird issues with my PS4 controller. It recognized all inputs twice instead of once, meaning my camera was constantly circling around and menu's we're opening and closing instantly and so on.

Loads of controller issues reported everywhere. Seems like they forgot about Dark Souls 3 shit and did the same exact thing here. If you're using a PS4 controller I would suggest you hold off for a day or two and see if there's a fix or some community modding to ensure it works.
