Some Reviews:

If you’re new to the series, Yoshi’s Crafted World has colour and charm to spare, even if its inventiveness is largely limited to its looks. For Yoshi fans, it does exactly what you expect it to, which is perhaps the worst thing we can say about it; it contains few genuine surprises. It’s delightfully presented, though, and makes for another very solid entry in Nintendo’s ever-growing pantheon of material-based platformers – it takes extreme discipline to not overuse that word ‘charm’ while discussing it. So, if you’re looking to share a light-hearted platformer with the family, or simply relax in a big chair with a cup of something warm and a comfy pair of socks, be sure to have a spare pair ready – Yoshi's Crafted World will charm the ones you’re wearing right off.

IGN
Yoshi’s Crafted World is an engaging and charming platformer that is absolutely worth playing, but it misses a clear opportunity to be more than that by not taking full advantage of its most clever ideas. It has enough creative collectibles to make completionists want to hunt down every last one, but I’m disappointed Crafted World didn’t challenge me more in the way its last few levels proved it could have. Of course, I still thoroughly enjoyed every adorable hour I spent with it.

About as I expected. I really liked the demo tho so I will prolly get it.

I need a polar opposite to sekiro to calm me down inbetween :messenger_relieved:

Seems like solid reviwes, can't wait for the game to arrive. Yoshi's Woolly World was great, so I have high hopes for this.

Eh. Seems like a solid game. But like the Kirby titles, I’ve felt really bored with these games in their last 3 iterations (except I enjoyed that Mech Kirby game). I was hoping this one would finally step it up and get creative. I don’t think I even beat Wooly World, because I found it too safe.

Any reviewers here who have already played it? Wrt the many point of it being very easy: Are there still challenging extra levels to be found, or is this another Yoshi's Story?

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

With that username / avatar combo, don't pretend like you're not going to play it either way

I have it preordered and it was just shipped. But Yoshi's Story (together with Sonic 06) is my biggest gaming disappointment ever. If Crafted World is similarly braindead easy, I want to brace myself for that.

Well, did you like Woolly World? This game seems like an extension of that.

Yes, but Woolly World did have quite a few challenging extra levels. They were required for being happy with the game.

Got woolly world for the 2 char 1 player mode with the yoshi amiibo which was fun and had a few nice shortcuts, to bad its not kept in this game as it would be day 1 purchase as its super niche with such games.

Really looking forward to this. Gonna be nice to have something pleasant and trippy and brain dead easy in between bashing my head against the wall with Sekiro :)

Big fan of Yoshi but the supposed 9 hour story completion time for a full priced title is really off-putting.

We loved Wooly World for co-op, and I found the demo of this game fantastic, truly clever design of all the paperwork layers. I don't expect to be disappointed.

i thought the demo was quite boring.

Me too.

I wish they'd work on making a more innovative and challenging Yoshi game the way they made Yoshi's Island.

They'll never take this series as seriously as they did that game, though. This series is exclusively for relaxing experiences.

Nintendo games used to have challenge, but now you have yo beat the game and play the secret world to get any sort of challenge. I wish they would stop treating gamers like morons and put the challenge back. These games are so easy I often get bored. Mario on nes and even snes had as nice level of challenge. Go back to that.

This is one of my issues with odyssey. Extremely boring cakewalk. Sure there were extras to play to give yourself a challenge, but by that point i had had enough of everything. The initial playthrough needs to have some challenge for me or else i wont want to spend any extra time in the game. Ill be too burned out and bored of the game by then.

I'm absolutely IN. Woolly World is one of my favorite Wii U titles, such an underrated gem and I expect this one to be no different. Good-Feel is an absolutely based developer.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I adored Wooly World - one of my favorite platformers ever, though it's pretty different from most games in the genre given how focused it is on exploration. Really hoping this reaches that same level of quality.

WW also had one of my all-time favorite soundtracks. Doubtful they'll achieve that again, but I wanna believe.

Looks fucking shit. Why does a 2d sidescroller run at under 720p?

Edit: LOL. Even Gamexplain shit on this heap of garbage.

It is using a non-specialised engine, as opposed to previous games built in an engine specifically meant for the respective system. And the developers (luckily) prioritised performance over resolution. Something has to give.

Getting this day 1, loved the demo! I used to adore Yoshi's Story growing up, never liked the games with bebby mario for some reason.

Yeah odyssey was way too easy. Same with Yoshi's Woolly world. I didn't even really feel like the enemies were attacking me as much as I was attacking them.

What also drives me crazy about the more modern yoshi games is the super obnoxious constipated baby sounds that Yoshi makes. In Yoshi's island, he sounded nothing like that. I have to wonder who was calling the shots when they started to make Yoshi so annoying.

Thats the style of all 3D Mario games though.
