So what? People have included that kind of thing in celebrations for centuries now. It’s been weird to see Satanic Panic make a return.

But the idea of people shopping themes for a public carnival and just being like "let's do hell" is pretty sick. I wanna see the rest of the floats now, I think the next one's Abu Ghraib themed.

When I was young, and before I read enough books to inevitably become an atheist, I always used to think being a satanist was probably a lot more fun, as they seem to have all the best music.

Best thing to ever come out of Brazil (other than Ayrton Senna) was Sepultura.

Brazilian here

"Satanic carnival" lol

There are many "samba schools" that choose a theme for their parade. One of them chose good vs evil or something like that. That explains the "satanic imagery".

Themes vary from good vs evil to ... yogurt (seriously)

So anything goes. Doesnt mean we are satanic.

I've been so good about avoiding religion for the past decade or two.
Seeing people still honestly believing it and getting mad over it, it's just funny.
