Hype-0 already 31% off on Amazon.jp

It begins?

As Kagari said, game already was out here ages ago where most people who played it did. On top of the cheap "re-release" version on the PSP. There would be pretty much zero reason to buy it again outside of the FF XV demo.

That and the price was poorly thought out to begin with that didnt help retailers move units. Seriously no idea what the fuck SQEX was thinking when they did that.

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete sold quite well so perhaps they thought the same strategy would work for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD too. FFVIIACC was a HD remaster of FFVIIAC and it came with a demo for FFXIII. There was also a Limited Edition PS3 bundle.

SCEJA have made serval great PSVITA games already. You cannot say the same thing about Capcom and SE.

Lol. Moor was making a joke. By definition its Sony's own portable, so it'd be absolutely miserable if they made ZERO titles for their system. However, past the initial launch titles, there was Soul Sacrifice, Tearaway, and Killzone Mercenary and that's it right? Pretty sad from a first party perspective.

Square Enix barely supports consoles anymore, an install base like the 3DS has only a couple of games released for it. We've got DQ (decent amount of these for JP b/w 7, X, M1 and M2), Theatrhythm (FF, Curtain Call, and DQ), Bravely Default, Bravely Second, and FFExplorers, most of which (apart from DQ), look like budget titles at best. Square supported the Vita with a decent port for what it's worth (FFX/X-2, and it's one of the platform's best selling titles). That's why people were happy with the company at least seeming to support PS4 (DQ Heroes in a sense, KH3, FFXV, and Type-0 HD).

You're missing quite a lot of games. After the initial launch titles in Japan the following were also published by Sony at retail in Japan: Freedom Wars, Gravity Rush, Soul Sacrifice Delta, Oreshika 2, Little Big Planet Vita, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, Reality Fighters, Resistance: Burning Skies, Wipeout 2048, Borderlands 2, and God of War Collection. Not to mention dozens of games released digitally on PSN as well as those released exclusively on retail in the US and UK, but not Japan (I omit all of those, since this thread is about Japanese retail sales).

There are Oreshika and Freedom Wars and both aren't launch title published by Sony past year.

EDIT: Beaten.

FFVIIACC was a new version with added content, including the FFXIII demo for the price of 5,900 yen, also sold in a PS3 bundle for 49,980 yen. FFT0HD is a new version with removed content, including the FFXV demo for the price of 7,344 yen, also sold in a PS4 bundle for 50,738 yen. Consoles are dead and Final Fantasy is dying.

I already have all the excuses ready.

The fact that Type-0 is a recent game, and sold quite well might have a two-fold effect on sales of Type-0 HD: people already bought and played the games -> 1. they're not going to buy it again OR 2. they have fond memories of the game and they would like to play it again on a bigger screen with somehow better graphics.

The fact that PS4 doesn't have much jRPGs should also help.

Oh yeah, I completely agree on that point. It was just to correct some misunderstanding.
Sony could perfectly at least help on marketing and localization (if not as many publishing duties as they can). They could perfectly herald XI as the revival of the good old JRPGs from the PS2 era for example. I think this has a lot of potential on this point.
Can't see that happening again for a MonHun 5 if Capcom asked Sony though.
Fair enough. Yeah, i think that Sony and Square Enix has a good relationship, so there would probably be help given if they see that as benefitial.

The fact that people think companies can "hate" is extremely naif ;)
Didnt Yamauchi (previous boss of Nintendo) refused Square to make GBA games to begin with? But i agree, its not something that is usual at least.
