Ugh I’m so weak. After watching you guys go on about this I just bought it even though I disliked Division 1 endgame, and have so many games I’ve started, but still need to complete.

Didn’t buy the gold edition this time at least. That last season pass was a joke. Can anyone point me to the Xbox Gaf clan so once it’s downloaded and I get to the spot I can join it?

This probably doesn't make sense but the skills glitch appears, to me anyway, to be location oriented. Like, I can be in one area and not have an issue, I fast travel to another area and its glitched, fast travel back to the previous area, glitch is gone.

Its weird, man.

Oh well.

About to ding 30!
It's back again for me. I've been in the same area, though. Just working through West Potomac Park and it's doing it again.

P.S.- Congrats!

I'm so annoyed with the skill bug, every time I'm deploying a turret or using a drone to heal, it disappears after a few seconds and I have to wait again for the cooldown ,I got my ass handed in the darkzones because of this

DivisionGAF, Just look for it :)

quick question: there is no way to see your inventory without being at a stash is there?

Stash inventory can only be seen at one of the stash boxes.

Division doesn't have an inventory API like Destiny. Was hoping Massive would add that this time around.

Its my only serious gripe with the game, other than the watered down story elements.

Skills are vital, especially for solo players.

Edit

At least the bug made me try every skill out.

I like the shield a lot

So... is there legit enemy variety and boss encounters this time? I liked the first game to play it at launch and revisit it during west side piers. But the boss encounter was a friggin helicopter :/

However... I knew I was just playing because the hooks were solid and the shooting was good; not necessarily because I thought it was fun.

I’m in the camp where I can’t help but think that games like these, whether it’s diablo, destiny or monster hunter are best set in a fantasy setting of some kind.

Then again, ubisoft has such dev force behind this game across a number of studios so it should have the content to keep going.

Dumb question:

When you see friendlies on a supply route is there some bonus to escorting them?

There is a trophy/cheevo tied to it. I got it yesterday. Just follow them to wherever they’re going to collect stuff. Once they find a spot, a little pop up will appear on one of them for you to give them some resources. Do that and you’ll get a commendation and the troph. Maybe some XP too but I’m not positive on that.

Only been fighting against one faction so far but the enemy types have been:

-Melee dudes and ladies that bum rush your ass

-Snipers

-Regulars with assault rifles

-super tank heavy guys where you need to shoot off their armor to get the kill shots

-enemies that set loose these Rage-like RC cars that go after you and explode on impact

Not bad

Clipped 13h so far.

Did one main mission and a lot of side content.

Then did the same mission and the same side content with a friend that also bought the game, and the difficult level adjustment is just amazing.

The amount of times we died on side content, wow.

Yh i found enemies can be brutal and fast killing you. So i was lvl 7 but had lvl 5 assoult rifle and enemies where lvl 7 they just kicked my ass so i went back to look for better weapons. It can be brutal and if you covering in wrong place they will surround you and just kill you . not sure but seems that enemies too good shooters they just hit you from any distance i mean cmon and they moving and shooting, they are not some rookies there.

Really!!!,I never had any big problems till now,I feel that is easier than the first game playing solo, and I always have 2-3 lvl down weapons than my actual lvl,its just that you need to find the right weapon for your playstyle, when I encounter elites always use a machine gun on them, they have a lot o bullets and this way I won't let them use their attack cause I shoot until I empty the magazine.

D1 was much easier to deal with enemies and yes i didint had problems being lower lvl before. somehow i ending up in wrong place most times or picking wrong cover place were they spawn in surprise ...you cant play it in hurry maybe i wasnt planing it too much. it just one day was kinda hard for me. like yesterday after new patch. will try it now. yh machine guns would be great if i wouldnt sold them all...and now i cant find then anywhere.

Man, you're not lying. I had been playing solo and don't want to say I was coasting, but with a little strategy, dying wasn't really a concern. I played a bunch of the same things later with one friend who was a level higher than me and one who was lower and we were getting trucked trying to take over a control point that I already had taken over on my own.

I'm still trying to figure out how to balance solo play and play with friends. I have a bit more free time to dive into the game, but I don't want to go through playing main missions on my own then have to do them later when they're on. Still, I want to progress my character, and do so without screwing up the co-op leveling/difficulty when we do play together.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure how it works. Does it scale to the group leader or the highest level in the group?

Had to bounce off DX12. The crashing for me yesterday was unbearable. In the span of like six hours, I think I crashed a dozen times. Those minimum frames are really nice but i don't think it's a worthwhile trade-off. No crashes on DX11 yet.

Got my gear score up to 350'ish and am about to jump into WT3. I wound up going with the sniper specialization and I think I kinda hate it. Everything around it is nice, but the sniper itself isn't that good, mainly because of the heinous zoom sensitivity that is unchangeable. Why on earth does it increase my sensitivity x10? Really hope they fix it in a patch and allow you to keep it the same as everything else.

You know the scripting is legit when an enemy from a zone activity follows you into a side mission all the way to the end and when you finally kill him the side activity still completes lol.

Thumbs up Massive.

I tried playing the game in DX12 and the fps boost was NICE BUT.... there were microstutters. I will take my smoother gameplay(it is extremely rare if I were to dip under 60fps max settings) over microstutter trash. I hate it so much that this happens with DX12 in like every game.

Well sometime I also have issues with the cover, sticking on the wrong side, but you need to be more tactical when approaching an area, even if your 2-3 lvls above, you still get get your ass kicked if your not careful.I was lvl26 and the enemy 22,I went into them like Rambo with a machine gun thinking I will cut them down easily,I got my ass kicked like I was nobody, because suddenly I was surrounded from all corners. :)

i think i still dont learned all those wepons stats. ok so things we see is accuracy and stability so we want weapon that have better those things then previous one right ? well not sure. what about spray like you spray bullets all over place i thought it would be stability but found out that its not. i dont know sometimes assoult rifle with worse accuracy and stability works better shooting short burts from cover. and ones are better aggainst shields then others. again where to find that stat i dont know i just found out that by testing 2 assault rifles on enemies with shields. ones is doing nothing to shield and other is cutting trough like butter. but i didnt know that until i tested it . and yes i want my mag be as big as can be but not yet mods for larger mag ? where i get those and when, so not yet in lvl 9 ?
and i hate those running to you enemies with bats .. sometimes you see then and thats ok but sometimes you too busy and they just run to you and beat you with bat to death i mean yh i hate those. and enemies with explosives attached omg ... they so bad ...
what i use for now... but im not happy with my weapons really...

and about that crafting problem... does game does that on purpose like if i crafted blue armor long time ago so even after 3 hrs of playing and leveling i wont get any blue gear ??? really ? so my lvl6 crafted body armor is still better then lvl 9 what they give me on street , but its garbage compare to mine... so i shoudnt crafted anything then at all i duno maybe then game would give me better stuff...

If you are having the skills glitch, I could see the lower level still being difficult. Enemies got crazy hard for me at lvl 16 and lvl 21...I mean swarming like angry hornets.

Skills glitch aside, a few things that helped me in combat:

1. The apparent path isn't the best. Vector of attack is really important.

2. Take the high ground and keep a spot to fall back to in mind.

3. Time weapon reloads and movements between cover

4. Learn to identify melee and shotgun enemies and take them out first. Sometimes put a few shots to supress mid-long range, but melee and shotgunners must go fast.

5. Identify and hit weak spots like cancelling grenade throws, grenade pouches, machine gun belt feeds on some heavies, etc. Make sure to shoot gas cans and tanks!

Anyway, this stuff helped me. I'm sure more veteran players could offer better help.

From my experience in DI and now D2 (I just hit level 19), crafting is not very useful in levels 1-30, as you level up fairly frequently. So, for example, if you spend the time and resources crafting a level 6 gear piece, there is a good chance that you will get a random drop to replace this. This is especially the case in D2 once you take over a bunch of control points, as the loot rooms in the control points refresh every day in levels 1-30. I currently have 6 control points, so I will log on later today and visit the loot rooms in each of the six adjacent loot rooms.

In the end game though, you use crafting for specific builds, specific gear sets and to try and min-max particular pieces. Crafting (and then recalibration) are end game activities.

As far as crafting a blue gear piece leading you to not get blue drops, I have found that the frequency of blue drops and purple drops increases as you level up. I started getting a bunch of blue drops around level 12 or so and now at level 19, I rarely get any green drops.

Another tactic that has been helping me (I am level 19) on solo missions is that for boss fights at the end of a mission, you can basically expect a barrage of rushers and shotgunners - along with a boss who has a specific challenging weapon/fighting style. For me, I like to find the spot in the room that offers some sort of barrier against rushers/shotgunners being able to flank me. If I sit in cover behind a concrete wall that is open on both sides, there is a good chance that a rusher/shotgunner will flank me and kill me. But - if I can find a location near a wall or some other physical barrier that cuts off my right side or left side, I stand a better chance against the aggressive flank attacks.

yh to find that good spot to cover is best thing ... but sometimes you just rush on like dumbass and die fast :) or its just no rooms that give you that best cover place. those walking tanks most times are easy specialy in closed rooms as they just walk around and look for you, giving you plenty time to shoot on them. for me harder are those others enemies not elites.

I have the large shield on Q, sawed-off as my sidearm, so much fun cleaning up the last few guys that way, or slowing backing out of a really bad situation.

The only enemies in the game I have to be really careful with are Flamethrowers and those double circular-saw rc cars. Those cars are nasty. World's smallest drive-by and you lose all your armor and half your hp.

Favorite guns are m60/m249, model 870 shotgun variants, sawed-off, and model 700 rifle. Played entirely solo so far for 26 levels, running large shield and revive hive.

Never realized there were so many hotels in D.C. lol

Goddamn this soundtrack is so good. Ubi has really nailed their composers lately between this guy and Dan Romer for Far Cry 5

What was the bug if you don't mind? The only bug bugged me was my specials kept disappearing. Turret and especially Drone like after few seconds..wassup with that?

So, got hit with the skill bug... :messenger_pouting:

The hive reviver still releases the self-res, but the game acts as it does with the other failed skills and sets the timer to 15 seconds.

I picked this up from Redbox today. Played a couple hours and it's cool. Feels like there is so much to do and see. I'll tinker around with it for the next few days but between Destiny 2, Anthem and other games, the time investment needed is too much for me atm. Man, with these Gaas games nowadays I feel I can only pick two and stick with them.

Golgo 13

The Man With The Golden Dong
Ended up picking this game up.

It’s good (not great) but it’s basically a very polished but VERY generic loot shooter, which to me doesn’t do enough from Division 1 to recommend it above that game.

I believe this game is getting way more credit than it deserves because it’s coming off the heels of Anthem, which was just a fucking disaster on so many levels. Just to launch a functioning, polished loot shooter so soon after that mess will gain you accolades on proximity and relief alone.

It’s very addictive though, which we have to sit back and examine if we’re being honest with ourselves here — addictive DOES NOT MEAN GOOD when it comes to video games. I don’t think many people can differentiate.

Can he swing from a thread? Take a look overhead / Hey, there, there goes the Spider-Man
Was going to pass on the game not a huge fan of modern style shooter (prefer stuff like destiny and anthem) and cover shooters. My brother loves them so got me a copy. Really enjoying it so far, the turret bug is a killer though. We taking our time like in Division 1 and clearing out each area before the next. Really good stuff.

Hope they fix the turret and drone despawning bug, other then that it a hoot.

Switching to DX11 solved numerous promlevs for me. No more stutters and hangs.

I need to figure out what setting to adjust to get the FPS back tho

What about mods? Do they go with the sell/deconstruction too?

Would love to know this too. For example generic utility mods slotted into armour, do they disappear if you vendor/deconstruct the armour?

In any case, this is the first game in a really long while where I actually pause in to take in the surroundings. It's an insane effort by level designers and artists, almost feels like a waste to have it in an mmo-esque world since they are a little more static by nature. Something like this would be absolutely mind blowing in a first person rpg/fps hybrid like Deus Ex or similar. Also one of the best depictions of a post apocalyptic overworld I've seen so far. It still blows my mind how memorable random shootouts in seemingly generic locations are, because these very locations make them anything but generic. It reminds me of how I'd often hype specific locations in games to a friend and how they made for really good battle arenas and then I play this game and I'm greeted by this same feeling every 5-10 minutes.

I think the thing that sets it apart from post-patch D1 is that the open world is much more fleshed out and dynamic, much like the Assassin's Creed games have become as of late (random skirmishes occuring without you, etc.). It feels like you're actually in a living, breathing (and struggling) city, rather than the desolate and by-the-numbers open world of D1's NYC.

But yes, as much as I enjoy the game, I have to agree that it's probably getting a boost due to Anthem. I can see the review scores settling in the mid-to-low 8's.

I like the game i knew what it is from private and open betas, that was all i need to decide so its no way anyone could not know what game its. And its great it gives me hook that i didint had with metro or new dawn i droped those games in middle for D2. I just like what it is how it plays looks and feels. Much better then first one
