Today’s update enables a highly requested feature – the ability to chat in Discord Voice on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S! While you are playing on your console, you will be able to see who is in the call and speaking. You’ll also be able to adjust the sound, and switch between Discord Voice and Xbox game chat. To learn more, check the blog post here.

  • How to Participate
    1. Get the latest versions of the Discord mobile app and Xbox mobile app.
    2. On your Xbox, open the Guide and go to the “Parties & chats” tab.
    3. Click on the “Try Discord Voice on Xbox!” button and use your phone to scan the QR code. This will signal to Discord that you are an Xbox Insider!
    4. Follow the instructions in the Discord mobile app to link your accounts (you will need to do so even if you have previously linked Xbox and Discord).
    5. Follow the prompts in the Discord mobile app to join a call and transfer audio to your console!
We’re really excited for you to try this feature! Be sure to give us your feedback in the Xbox Insiders subreddit, and if you encounter any issues, please use “Report a problem” by holding down the Guide button. Please categorize the bug with Guide > Discord. Thanks and happy chatting!

New Features and Experiences

We have exciting news! Alpha Skip-Ahead users can expect something new coming to their Xbox Update Preview.

My Games & Apps

We have enabled a new feature which allows you to specify a different default install location for games, backwards compatible games, and apps. The default for each will be set to the location you had set previously as your default install location for all content. You can also let Xbox decide where to install your games and apps. Setting a default install location to “Let Xbox decide” will cause your Xbox to try to install that content type to best available drive that has enough space. To get started, you can access this by going to Settings> System> Storage Devices> Change Install Locations.
