Didn't Nvidia have a whole conference dedicated to the Shield recently? Even after that, they only sold THIRY-THREE units total in one month? Holy shit...

BB's 85k was about what I expected...

Looks like my 450k bet took a few extra weeks but whatever, I was close :)

Bloodborne sold more than Battlefield hardline and GTA 5 this month on a given platform. It's not as big as those series but we can hardly call it niche. Not any more niche than any other game that aren't in the yearly top 5 (namely Fifa, Cod, BF, etc).

pretty crummy month for all involved, but it's april. still, previous generations were better. really feels like dedicated hardware is becoming increasingly holiday-oriented with nothing special to drive growth in the off-months.

Yes we can. Because it is.

It's a critical and consumer darling that fills a very specific need for people. but it's not a mass market product. A game like far cry is only just getting there and that one is like what, 7mm world wide?

Maybe holidays offers are so good that people don't want to buy hardware on preseason anymore.

The 6th generation was one of the best. Your argument is invalid. Not to mention Sony dropped PS2's price in under just 2 years.

Thought in Feb they had the double the trade in value.
March they were giving up to $175 for 360/PS3 towards a PS4
April it was up to $125 for 360/PS3 towards a Xbox One

PS4 is now done 3/4 months versus last year, despite having lots of bundles and deals that they didn't have last year at this time. It's falling further and further behind the PS2. Wii sold 721K in it's second April, more than 4X the PS4's number, so there is lots of room for improvement.

People still think there will be no price drop this year?

Best buy had up to $175 for 360/PS3 towards a Xbone in April too (4/26 to 5/2)

Why is it that when the Xbox wins for the month people blow it off like it's not important? Whereas if the PS4 had won there would be cheers and tears of joy.


The system is fantastic and it's great to see it doing well and with both systems selling- it's obvious consoles aren't dead.

Since creamsugar was talking about top 10 SKU I will assume that 82k for Bloodborne doesn't include Collector's Edition (that probably sold very little in april).

The single player is like 3 hours long and the online multiplayer is so offensively bad it might as well not even exist.

Bloodborne #4 by SKU is encouraging. The fact it outsold the individual SKUs of BFH and GTAV gives me hope. Glad to see it hasn't dropped off as much as the title list would seem to indicate. Here's hoping it continues to sell at a decent clip through the Holidays. From deserves the success.

Also impressed at MLB pushing the second month sales. Didn't expect to see it doing that well.

The reason PS4 needs a price drop has nothing to do with MS outselling them by a small amount.

It needs a price drop because it is down YoY for the entire first quarter. If Sony want to maintain momentum and be up YoY its time to cut price before this holiday.

Why is it that we are not allowed to acknowledged how negligible of an accomplishment that 13k is in the face of all the doom and gloom that people want to attach to it?

Yep but my prediction was for 1.5 million at NPD. I'll own up and say I missed my prediction but I'm not too bothered as it was within the same realm. Still a huge succes and yeah with digital it may well have done close to 1.5

I was believing in more than 1 million including 360 and PS3. Since old gen versions are delayed I'm surprised, 1.25m at retail is amazing.
