What's the best way to farm Red Lizalfos tail? I scoured Death Mountain and only fought 3-4 of them. The ones in the abandoned mine didn't drop the tail (or just fell into the lava).

Have you tried talking to the original quest giver again?

It's the shrine quest where you have to
defeat the corrupted dragon. One of the three triforce quests.
I've gone back to the place where the quest is supposed to start and there's nothing I can do, I've already completed it, it just doesn't show up in my log. Oh well, at least I stil got the reward for completing all the shrines.

I don't understand why so many people seem to have problem with the stealth mission in Death Mountain because it is incredible easy if you let him stay behind, clear the area and call him to use him.

It's just frustrating for people who keep trying to sneak past all the guardians instead of
climbing the cliffs and using magnesis on the steel blocks to wipe them all out while he waits behind as you note.

I got annoyed for a few attempts before I remembered the focus on exploration and decided to climb and look for other options. I never got frustrated with the game after that as I rarely tried something more than once before looking for another option if that attempt failed.

It's easy for Link to go sneaky not for a Goron.

Thanks for the replies.

I've purposely been avoiding media. I need to go in as fresh as possible when I finally get to play it. : )

It also has
the highest defense of any other armor set in the game besides the soldier set and the ancient set. Amiibo armor stays at 20 defense per piece when fully upgraded and the Wild Tunic armor set goes up to 28 per piece

Speaking of which, is there an easy way to farm for Star Fragments outside of amiibo?

Can you only shoot the Dragons one per loop? Feels that way.

Yes, you can only get one material per encounter. It's pretty stupid.

Yeah, they'll only drop one thing and then fly off into the sky to despawn.

I think I got a glitch once though where it basically spawned twice in a row. Like I shot it and immediately got hit by one of its attacks so couldn't see where the item dropped and had to look around for it, and by the time I found it I heard the music again and saw wind updrafts appear and looked up and it had reappeared, so I was able to get two items in a single run.

I'm not entirely sure about this. I don't know if it's once per encounter or if there is just some kind of cooldown.

I was hunting
Naydra near Mt Lanayru - East Gate
. I was sitting up on a ridge and watching for it to spawn in the distance. When it did, it followed its path down the mountain and into the valley beneath me. This allowed me a clear shot and let me harvest my
horn piece.

After retrieving the item drop, I climbed back up the mountain with the intention of making camp and waiting for it to appear again, but to my surprise, it was already close by and seemed to be passing through the path again. I took another shot and got another item for my trouble.

So the possibilities are...
1. It's possible to get a second item after you have picked up your first one.
2. It's possible to get a second item after a certain cooldown time.
3. It spawned twice, once immediately after the other, and approached my vantage point again without me noticing.

I don't know which it is.

I also had an issue where
Dinraal wouldn't give me a horn no matter how many times I reloaded the save. I would hit it right in the horn, unmistakably, but would only get a scale. Either the hitbox for the horns are broken or you always get a scale, no matter what, the first time you shoot the dragon. This could be done for the benefit of the Spring of Widsom/Courage/Power quests.

Oh!

I never thought about it... yeah,
the first thing I did when I saw those drones was looking the environment and when I looked the metallic boxes it just clicked..
.

Reminded me that part in which to open a gate I used Stasis on the door and hit it to open it instead of using Cryonis because forgot that I had that power.

I really hate having to aim when hitting something that was frozen in time. I'm just bad at it.

I got to this shrine where I have to hit a ball just enough so that it can land on a small platform the other side of a hole and I.keep.missing because the arrow isn't straight and I run out of time trying to make it so. I think I broke 2 or 3 of my weapons before giving up yesterday.

It was my first. I struggled with it for 2 hours, couldn't figure it out at all, then left and came back and did it 20 hours later. It was by far the hardest one.

I remember having to time the connection of the moving parts so that I could run outside and get on the right side of the thing as it moved up so I could access the place, higher up.

Fuck, that was horribly ambiguous. It's been too long, I can't remember.

There was an easier solution than perfectly timing it.
You could use the map to rotate the power source in/out of position to remotely activate and deactivate the electric mechanisms. It's the only time in the game I remember intentionally manipulating something off screen, which is perhaps why it wasn't obvious.

There are some that you can find in chests. You need three for fully upgrading the
Tunic of the Wild set

The Dog chest in Lurelin village has a star fragment, the stable
dog chests are found feeding a dog, then the dog takes you to a chest

The dog chest in snowfield stable has one too.

there is another fragment inside a metal chest inside the Hyrule castle docks.Right below in the water in front of the
secret shrine there

If not, you just have to wait for the night to come and be on the look out of a fragment falling, look for the column of light and go there to pick it up.

Farming star fragments sucks.I am never upgrading the Ocarina of Time set, ever. It requires 30 fragments to upgrade it fully, which is stupid xD

Oh, savage Lynels (silver) drop them too.

I decided to approach Death Mountain yesterday. I had not lit that tower and I hadn't explore any of the area because of the heat. Finally I bought some heat resistant potions and went for it.

My first mission was to reach the tower, which I did very easily with three bursts of Revali's Gale. But from there, I realized I didn't know anything about the layout of the volcano and had no idea where to go to reach the Goron Village. I ended up getting there by following the shrine sensor. And I didn't even know I was there until it told me on screen. Great, I thought.

But I'm definitely conflicted because I basically didn't explore Death Mountain at all. I have to get some fireproof lizards to upgrade my flamebreaker set though, so I'll probably try to get back to the village on foot.

Okay, so I just entered Hyrule Castle for the first time, and I swear
the Master Sword does not seem to ever "break" against guardians and monsters there. I've been raiding the place for a good hour just smashing every enemy on sight, and it has yet to get "low energy" at any point. Maybe there truly is an unbreakable weapon in this game, only at certain conditions, like my earlier theory about the Master Sword not ever breaking inside the divine beasts. Gonna test it more and see if it really is true.

And yeah, the loot here is damn great. For those having trouble getting dragon scales and such, some chests here have them.

It can break there, it just has MASSIVELY increased durability. I've had it break inside a Divine Beast because I used it heavily outside on the overworld.

Pro tip: hold down ZL and just move left or right to perfect your direction. You'll get your aim down on your second or third swing that way.

As for golfing. Were you doing the shrine where there is an optional one for treasure? If so you need to hit it with
the hammer 5 times and then switch out for a lesser weapon like a spear and hit it once.
that should do it.

Use the LZ targeting to get more precise with lining up.

Yeah I remember that shrine. It was a long shot but I only succeeded by using my spear weapons bc they were easier to swing straight than a dual wield hammer they give you. Also ZL helps a ton!

Anyone know why there's a random metal door in the bottom of that pond? I don't think there's any korok puzzles nearby

C7Z48aBUwAEQX3C.jpg

It's south of the stable that get hits by lightning in the Faron jungles

There's an enemy encampment on a ledge below this plateau. You can glide to one of the towers but must use the metal door to make it to the other and get the treasure chest there.

Is that so? Maybe it really is massive because it's really taken a lot of hits and still going strong.

Though I found one exception. I tried using it on a stasis and it seems it goes back to its usual durability when used against objects in stasis. It did break in just a few strikes.

Thanks, Impulsor! I have 3 in inventory. Thought I would need more for
Tunic of the Wild.

Apparently there are some kind of stealth fish? Well they sure got their Solid Snake on because I have never encountered a single one and need some to upgrade some clothes.

Jep, sneaky fish.

Then again I ran around like rambo, so I'm not surprised.

If you need help finding the stuff for upgrading this set, let me know. I went through this yesterday and it took me the whole evening to gather everything to fully upgrade it.

I'm still early in BOTW on the WiiU and it blows my mind how nintendo got this to work as good as it did on that hardware. I know the framerate isn't that consistent but the fact that it runs at all when its pouring rain and all those weather effect are going on blows my mind.

Besides releasing the left trigger and centering on another enemy? I don't think there is one.

I find the targeting to be really lacking.

One of my biggest complaints tbh

Targeting, then releasing the targeting, and trying to re-target to center your shield is sometimes just impossible.

xxracerxx

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Not too mention just how close you have to be before you can actually lock-on.

I fought 4 guardians simultaneously last night , each with their lasers focused on me, and I only had to make sure to parry any hits, regardless of who i was focused on or which direction the shots came in. So if you have 3 goons right in front of you, just parry away attacks until you can get a clear shot to attack them.

It's especially bad when trying to fight
parry
a Guardian when there are other enemies around. It's really difficult to lock on to the Guardian when the game keeps focusing on some stupid skeletons.

Lol just found out my tv supported surround and the switch does also turned it on.... Yeah it sounds orgasmic to the ears the music ingame is top notch....! (especialy Hateno Village)

Can't wait to replay the whole game with it turned on whenever hard mode is out.

Going to do all sidequests and shrines on this save and fuck around:p

If it's the one that is part of the main quest I didn't see how it was that bad...
Yeah I'm most of the way through the dungeon that follows it and that escort section was nowhere near as painful as people here made it out to be. He only got stuck once and it was easily fixed.

Speaking of the DM dungeon, how do I activate the penultimate control panel?
I know it has to have something to do with the slope with the slender metal rods that run on it, and I've seen each of the ends, at least one of which has a tiny Magnesis-compatible box under, but what do I DO exactly? I did light the blue flame on the outside at one end but that's as far as I've gotten.

Wait...how does a TV do surround sound if you don't have speakers, you know, surrounding you? Do you mean simulated surround sound?
