@LumberjackRy as a source is damn right hilarious (seriously go through the guys tweets).

If Sony could afford Take-Two and this was even remotely serious... I'd be cool with the aqusition with the for sure behavioral concessions.

But Sony isn't playstation. They can't put all 10 billion into playstation.

They have their music, TV hardware and so on as well.

While Microsoft also have Windows, office and so on, earns around 10 bill every quarter

According to this site, then Microsoft earned 70 billion dollars for 2022, and Sony earned around 7.5 billion in 2022.

Sony is not poor, Microsoft is just much more wealthy.

It takes over 8 years for don't to earn what Microsoft does each year.

Microsoft already earned the price back for Acti Blizzard, while Sony are still nowhere near to afford it from the date of the reveal of the acquisition.
You don't think profits are the only way to finance and acquisition do you?

He's Rythian. He was to mentally unstable to work at Raytheon so got kicked out despite changing his name to sound similar. Now he does troll tweets on twitter in-between bagging groceries at the homeless shelter.
I hope they plan on having to sign a contract with ms to make gta and red dead multiplayer for 10 years.

Sony is so poor they can’t even PAY attention to the FTC.

On serious note this publisher is too expensive for Sony. I don’t think MS would buy them either. Best bet is Ubisoft since they are struggling and need help.

Could Sony buy Take Two? Yes. Would it be simple? No. Are they likely to? There's a better chance that Elon Musk stops jerking himself off on Twitter.

A complete buffoon, liar, and scumbag.
And he look like a buffoon too.

I feel sometimes some sites are running by 13 years old fanboys.

Also, Wasnt the deal trajectory headed to be blocked ( or at least that's what some people here think ). did something happen recently?

Sorry not keeping track of everything

It must be true, my grandma sent me an email with the following subject line:

"FWD: FWD: FWD: FWD: SONY INVESTING IN SATANIC MURDER SIMULATOR MAKER!!! - SEND TO 5 FRIENDS OR YOU WILL DIE"

I guess if Activision does go through the response that Sony will make is to buy take two the 2nd biggest money making

The source of the rumour is dogshit. HOWEVER, I do think Sony is considering Take Two, IF, the ABK deal closes. As to why Sony would want this deal:
  • Become the top 3 mobile publisher when they merge mobile efforts with Zynga
  • Secure an IP that is as big as COD
  • T2 live-service and PC expertise
  • T2 has lots of IPs that would fit well with PlayStation Productions
Sony would have to pay $27B to get this deal done. Unlike MS, they would pay for T2 in a combination of stock, cash and debt.

Many problems here with this rumor,
1. The original source of this is Bezinga
2. Take Two is not likely to accept.
3. Despite having best selling games Take Two is constantly having money management issues even with reductions, why would Sony voluntarily be dumb and take on what could be rapid loss/ debt, especially if they make their games console exclusive cutting the profit reac h?
4. Paper towels on bottom and top of pizza are not a sandwich
5. FTC/CMA would be encouraging rapid consolidation if they let them do that as retaliation.
6. It wouldn't be a fair trade and Activisions benefits would walk all over Take Two's if any.
7. 779311
8. Lol
9. No
10. Charlie Brown got ate by Hobbes, Calvin should have put him on leash.

Regulators would make Sony keep GTA multi-platform. T2 posted losses for the recent quarter because of a wide range of reasons, including a very expensive Zynga acquisition. In 2021 they were profitable and posted $900M in profit.

Ok but I'd rather Sony buy Walt Disney instead.
Sony couldn’t afford Disney, they tried to buy Fox for $30B and were outbid by Disney by quite a number (50B?)

Sony may have increased their cap since but it still wouldn’t be close to Disney level.

Yeah the website stated that if abk goes through Sony would aim for that only if it goes through and what u just said not as big as Activision but alot of it does come under what Sony wants. Live services, mobile and pc and has many good ips and could do not just pc but the likes of steam and geforce now or any other devices including mobile

And Activision's IPs shouldn't? 👀
You do know I'm against Activision acquisition right?

Not because of it being exclusive but because of the $70bn price tag.
I would prefer Sony to invest more in that Sophy AI for in game companions/followers, than acquiring Take-Two.

If GT7 is anything to go by, Sophy needs a lot of work.

As much as I agree with u call of duty is probably Sony's biggest income and if Sony says if it's true that the money they get to invest in small studios etc and having to lose call of duty then personally if I was Sony I would go for the next best thing and that is take two. Once that cod goes Sony won't be making money

One things for sure, if MS do acquire ActiBlizz it's going to be a bloodbath... And it's not going to be good for gamers at all.

I can see Sony snapping up multiple big Japanese publishers because "fuck you"
