PlayStation VR2 |OT| I heard it has a single cable. Is this true?

If you do, go straight to the Lindsey Stirling Experience. It's free and it absolutely defines VR IMO. It's what I imagined the future of VR to be 20+ years ago.

Finally someone that atleast tried to build a comparable PC. I expected more comparisons though but i guess he did not even try because there is no point to it. I would have liked for them to reveal the specs of that PC to see how it compares to the 150 usd less PS5. He also did not mention the triggers or the haptics so i think the review could have been better but it was pretty obvious he was blown away.

After having it since launch day, I am really enjoying it. But I do feel a little dissapointed but at the same time excited about it. I think my disappointment comes from the fact that the headset is NOT as comfortable as the original PSVR. I have used several headsets for the last 5 years and found the PSVR to be the most comfortable, so it was dissapointing that the PSVR2 is not as comfortable. The second thing is that the Sweet Spot is easily found, but very narrow. I can usually line it up quickly, but still wish the sweet spot was bigger.

I also feel that the perceived resolution is not as good as the actual resolution that they state. I think they made some cutbacks to get to a better price and cut some corners. When you read the advertised resolution, it seems like it should be a lot better than the Quest 2, but in some regards, things appear cleaner on the Quest 2. Overall, I think it is better than the Quest 2, but at the end of the day I guess I was expecting a bit more for the price. Still loving it and looking forward to them making more dedicated games (Sony needs to step up and announce stuff they are bringing to the PSVR2). I also wish that the controllers used standard AA batteries like the Quest 2/PRO. These things only lasting for about 4 hours is a bit of a letdown. Granted, not many people will play that long, but I tend to have family get togethers and everyone wants to try it out and them lasting 4 hours does not give enough time for everyone to enjoy it.

I tried playing around with brightness in RE8. I noticed that at 0% brightness my left and right screens are very different. Different brightness and slightly different hue.

The right eye is darker and slightly more orange/yellow.

Anyone else notice this?, it seems fine at the 70-100% brightness I generally use so it doesn't bother me.

I'm interested in some off-ear headphones. For when I'm playing with my wife there. I'm going to try this, tho:

Not exactly "off-ear headphones", but they do what I want to do. I found other neckbands like this but none with a 3.5 jack. Hopefully it doesn't randomly break like other hori products I've bought over the years!

If you are awaiting my review, don't trust my comments on sound quality lol. I am a poor judge on that I think.

The controllers having low battery life is a pain in the ass just like the dualsense. Moreso, I get unreliable charging with them and I can pick one up from charging and it'll still be dead. I'd consider getting some upgraded capacity batteries.

How about that official charging station tho lol. Rave reviews!

Seems to depend on the game, Horizon being the worst offender. It has the worst persistence out of modern headsets even at the lowest brightness.

For those that don't know, persistence is the time it takes a pixel to go from lit to dark. High persistence can cause blur and ghosting, which can lead to motion sickness. I guess this is the explanation for the motion ghosting in some games.

Shouldn't be an hardware thing (i think?), should be patchable. The interpolation horizon uses seem to be a problem.

Yep. One area Q2 has it beat.

Okay. I have a complaint. Apparently my nose is sensitive and the little rubber piece tickles it. A lot. Not sure what is going on or what I can do about it.

You think it's the material or the light rubbing? Or do you get stronger rubbing if the lens units are bumping up to your nose?

I think it is a combination of how light the material is and that it rubs. It's kind of weird and annoying since I can't really scratch my nose. I have used my finger to poke it up a bit once the headset is on and that seems to help. It is not a perfect solution but it helps.

Oh so it's like tickling almost. Yeah I don't have any ideas for that. Rub some chalk on it lol.

Moss Book I and II is not available as a bundle in Europe as far as I can tell. I haven't played either of the games, is it worth buying them both or should I just buy the second game?

Interesting, I wonder if different colours are more pronounced on different headsets or is it green on all.

Personally I do see mura just like I could on PSVR1 but Im in the camp of it doesn't bother my as I hardly notice when playing.
Same. I see it when looking for it, and then I can't shake it, but its not an issue while Engrossed. If I can limit it, I'm all for it, but not at the expance of wearing sunglasses. Could something Similar be achived via Software, a Digital Filter as such?

If it is available, Its usually well hidden. Go to Moss Book II and click the 3 dot menu. Is it in there?

So....is separate audio only available on GT7?

I don't want to use those shitty little headphones that come with the headset.

I've tried, Hogwarts and TLOU2. Via theatre mode so far and both require (?) The headphones and won't output to my audio system. Any one figured this out?

Not got full COTM but I see a patch mentioned on Twitter. I know some have complained about reprojection artifacts: does this alleviate them?

Is Synth Riders worth it?

Also, I'm really enjoying Pistol Whip but the obstacles have been a pain so far. Ducking is fine but I've found it hard to avoid the ones on the left and right - not sure if its a tracking issue but even physically stepping to the left or right doesn't always work.

Leaning seems to work on Pistol Whip for me, if that helps. And Synth Riders is well worth it - itā€™s my fave VR game atm. I really like Pistol Whip as well, but just find Synth Riders a little less intense.

From what I can see it looks like Synth Riders puts you on a moving track almost like a ride, and you pass over / past objects and lights are flying everywhere - but Beat Saber just looks a lot more basic? I kinda like the journey you see in the Synth Rider videos more, but haven't played either of them yet. I'm kinda surprised they don't have demos either, they seem like ideal games, just have one or two songs unlocked like Puzzling Places.

Thanks, I'll grab the "Latest Music edition" bundle. Can't say no to Gorillaz.

Yeah, a demo for SR would be ideal because it really does sell itself after just one go. Iā€™m glad I took the punt, but demos definitely help when there is so much choice.

Visually, SR is really cool and it has a few ā€˜experiencesā€™ that are like playing through a VR music video. Unfortunately, I think the majority of these are part of DLC, but the standard stuff is still great and there are plenty of different levels to choose from, with space or Egyptian based levels, etc., - I always select random.

Right, I might be going mental but does anyone else have the issue of, when turning the headset on, Sky Q Pauses? Its the 3rd time now :messenger_tears_of_joy:
