I honestly don't think turning Cena Heel changes his merch sales negatively at all.

Hell he could basically come out with the same gimmick and be like Bret Hart is to Canadians, only he'd be the Bret Hart of older women and children.

I can't see Cena going heel until all the kids are bored with him. As long as Little Jimmies across the land can't get enough of Super Cena, the WWE is going to be loathe to turn him heel.

I would be delighted to be proven wrong.

Hogan turned heel on WCW at a time when he was still big with the kids......

and this is a bad comparison because the heel turned sucked but Jeff Hardy turned heel when he was the biggest merch draw for TNA.

Hogan wasn't big with anyone when he turned. JCP/NWA/WCW was never really a kid territory at least nowhere near like what the WWF always was. People had been booing Hulk for years by the time he turned. Nothing like what Cena gets, but he was getting negative reactions even before he went to WCW.

Undertaker vs CM Punk: Undertaker loses through underhanded means as he is ruled to have tapped out when he didn't even move his hand. The referee then takes off his mask and it is Paul Bearer.

Rock vs Cena: Cena wins clean and smirks as the show closes. People swear to never watch wrestling again.

The Hogan hate before he turned is overstated. A pop for Sid Justice eliminating Hogan at the Rumble doesn't translate to "Everyone was sick of the red and yellow". You can watch a lot of his early WCW run where he gets loud pops and you can also find footage of him getting booed. It definitely seemed to vary based on location, with the more negative reactions becoming more frequent in early 96.

Do you guys know what the most disappointing thing about this Wrestlemania is going to be?

After John Cena wins the title back from the Rock, they're going to make one more match to make it best of 3 for next year's Wrestlemania and "finally settle it all".

And by the time it's all said and done we'll have had four straight years where the WWE's biggest event has come down to some sort of Rock/Cena nonsense.

Hopefully they put the blowoff match in Summerslam or Extreme Rules or something closer than next year because damn, even the marks would be put off by the same match three years in a row.
