June 2013 NPD (U.S. Hardware) Predictions - Closes July 15

So the TLoU did jack shit for the PS3 eh? What a pity, was hoping for the 360 to be dethroned at least once in the US before the gen is over for those two consoles.

Halfway through 2013 Xbox 360 maintains its lead in the U.S. console market. Xbox 360 sold 140,000 units, more than any other console in the U.S., making June the 30th consecutive month Xbox 360 was the best-selling console in the U.S.

June 2013 NPD highlights:

· Total retail spend on the Xbox 360 platform in June (hardware, software and accessories) reached $197 million, the most for any console in the U.S. (Source: NPD Group, June 2013)

· During the month of June, Xbox 360 held seven of the top 10 console game titles including: “Minecraft,” “NBA 2K13,” “Injustice: Gods Among Us,” “Deadpool,” “Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” “Grand Theft Auto IV” and “Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.” (Source: NPD Group, June 2013)

Xbox One, which will launch this fall, has already seen impressive pre-order sales as consumers have signed up to be the first to receive the new system. In fact, Xbox One pre-orders are trending ahead of Xbox 360 pre-orders during the same time period and have already sold out at most major U.S. retailers. To reserve your Xbox One system today, and for the full list of launch countries and prices, visit http://www.xbox.com for participating retailers.

Xbox 360 and Xbox One will also be at Comic-Con International in San Diego this week with a series of exciting events including “The Future of Xbox Gaming Revealed” and “The Video Game Culture of Zombies: How “Dead Rising 3” on Xbox One Kicks Off a New Generation of Mayhem” panels that will take place Saturday, July 20. System sellers are rare so late into the cycle. I thought there would be a minor bump too maybe ps3 will be closer than usual.

People who are fans of ND games already got a ps3 for uncharted. The last of us did not do better than uc2 so its not like people would have got it for ratings

Also the 360 is still killing it. 499 is the stupidest shit ever

All right, so Major Nelson must have been looking at 3DS numbers then. :p

Would be a terrible 3DS number, then. AC 3DSXL sold 30K and no weekly increase otherwise for June? Really would have to question what numbers Iwata was looking at to say it was 4x the previous week.

155k would be abysmal. If so a price drop has to be coming

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Isn't possible that he just...read it wrong? If 155k is seriously what 3DS sold, then...but it wouldn't make sense with what Iwata said XD

“The Last of Us was the top selling game at retail in the month of June,” said Callahan. ” To put this in context, it had the second highest first-month sales of a PS3 first-party game, after God of War 3 in March 2010. The Last of Us was also the third highest game to launch during the month of June since NPD began tracking sales in 1995.”
