Look for me on the local news, I'll be the guy arrested for trying to burn down a Nintendo exec's house.
Ahahahaha, this got me.

This thread is perfect for lightening my mood on the way to a funeral.

Got me too, hahaha, fucking PopGAF.

Earlier, this thread was filled with people hoping we were headed to a funeral.

So, I ain't readin' 2000 posts, especially if this thread went the way I think it did...

Is this an apt summary of this thread?

- Nebulous tweet from some duder who thinks there might be "bad news" on the horizon for Sony.
- Thread gets posted.
- Anti-Sony fanboys come flocking in full of glee and smiles.
- News turns out to not be a reduction of RAM.
- Anti-Sony fanboys scamper back off into the woods, editing posts left and right
- PS4 is architecturally the same as we thought it was last week

Am I in the ballpark?

lol any links to these posts or a wall of shame?

You know what would funny? If after this premature celebration something negative ends up being revealed. I can only imagine the reactions... Like the dark souls of threads.

So, the portuguese Eurogamer already published the article, and says that the developers can access up to 5.5GB of RAM. The rest is reserved to the OS.

Seems like you will have to download 3gb of ram day 1...
Sony lied all the way, starting with DRM with ram on first day...
The people with slow internet, they gotta download 3gb of ram, which is about 3gb.
Whats with the people who dont have internet? They can only use 5gb of ram for games. Thats absurd.

So I wonder how much RAM was dedicated to OS prior to the increase from 4gb to 8gb? Because it can't have been 2.5gb.

What the hell? The game director for The Witness said that they were already using 5GB of the PS4's RAM. How can this be?

"The PlayStation 4 reserves 3.5GB of GDDR5 its 8GB memory for the operating system, leaving 4.5GB of space for game code, according to current documentation PS4 shown to Digital Foundry by a well-placed source in the studio. However, other sources suggest that an additional 1GB of "flexible memory" can be claimed of booking OS, based on availability."

Leadbetter is certainly betting the farm on this one.

3.5gb for the OS, with a flexible "return" of 1gb, giving anywhere from 4.5gb to 5.5gb to games.

And nobody else had heard anything? I am not entirely sure how this could be real. No sign of article on English site, even though its Leadbetter?

So wait, they said that the PS4 originally had 4 gigs.

So it was only going to have 500mb available to developers? Wait, what?
