I'm so tempted just to buy a GC and play this now.. But Im allready doubledipping it for a DD and LE version, systemdipping to play the old unbloomed version as well seems a step too far.

It is time for female Link.

So....is that kid, adult, or old?

To me, the whole female thing really wouldn't change the game at all because Link doesn't have dialogue or anything. I mean, think of WW, if Link was a girl the game would've been pretty much the exact same.

I think they're gonna have Adult Link on Consoles and Young Link on handhelds from now on. The past 3 handheld Zelda's(including a Link Between Worlds) are all Young Link(Toon/Young) and the past 2 console Zeda's have been Adult Link.

I remember after MM and WW there was a lot of noise over Link's age and how everyone wanted adult Link back. Anyone remember that being a thing? It just seems so silly now but I'd beg for that being a major complaint again compared to my other issues.

Sounds likely to me too. (Not including the OoT 3DS remake right?)

Yeah, I mentioned that in the risks of WW. After seeing Link in "good graphics" on Melee, people wanted the next Link to look like that, including me. It seemed to matter so much back then. Glad we got WW though.

Yes, barring remakes. Funny cause DS/3DS has had nothing but Young Link but the remake contains Adult Link. Wii has had nothing but Adult Link but the remake contains Young Link. But yes I think for upcoming games we'll get the Young/Adult Link split between Handhelds/Consoles.

Is not as subjective as people wanted it to be. Just tell me what are the strong points of the game?
I know you posted this a couple of days ago, but since you're rather condescendingly telling people their feelings are hurt because they won't bother to respond to your points, I'll humor you:

-Sparse overworld that kills any interesting exploration.
Subjective, because there are an enormous number of players who didn't find the overworld very sparse at all. I never quite understood why certain people seem to dismiss the discovery offered in this title just because none of the island landmasses were as large or as extremely intricate as they wanted them to be. We're talking a whopping forty-something islands - almost each one offering a unique and interesting appearance with distinct mini-dungeons, serving the purpose intended by the developers by encouraging players to explore every nook and cranny of those islands - along with several submerged ship posts and several submarines to raid and loot, and even a couple of surprises like the boat with the divers or the ghost ship. Obviously you have a few players dissatisfied at the rewards in those chests (heart pieces, rupees and treasure charts), but for many, it was always specifically about the journey and not the destination.

In my subjective opinion, Wind Waker was the best in the entire 3D franchise at making the player feel the freedom of knowing they weren't always completely tied to the main quest.

-Step back in NPC interaction (to be fair all 3D Z games after Majora are guilty of these)
To be fair, you can't use Majora's Mask as a metric for every single Zelda game in existence considering its NPC interaction was one of the main themes of the game. Wind Waker arguably had more in-depth NPC interaction than a good chunk of games in the series, and each sidequest felt different.

-Weak dungeons when contrasted with the rest of 3D Zelda games.
-Lame puzles.
-Low difficulty bar and poor difficulty curve.
I won't argue with these, although they, too, are subjective. If you're wondering why the difficulty is considered subjective on my part, look no further than Twilight Princess or the two handheld titles.

-Uninteresting item save for the Deku leaf
Statements like these make me surprised at your other statement that you're using some kind of basis for these so-called "objective" attributes of the game. There is no basis to this at all.

I'm basically posting all of this to let you know that we're not simply 'brushing off' your points without any reason to do so, because you at least deserve that clarity.

And there's a sidekick who knows when to be quiet.
I'd be down with that.

Once again, I would like to say that from this point on I will not judge a game based on its early screenshots. And also, realistic, hybrid realistic/fantasy, cartoon style, whatever the next Zelda is, I know it's going to be beautiful, especially if it's a continuation of the Wind Waker style.

As far as Zelda controlling goes: I'm satisfied with Spirit Tracks and, to a lesser extent because it's not a Zelda game, Smash Bros.

But others will. 'Tis the curse of the Zelda fanbase.

Why do people ask for female Link? Nobody asks to play as male Samus...

I think people typically ask for Zelda, not a female Link. But even a female Link makes a bit more sense than a male Samus, since Samus is a character, and Link is like 8 different dudes, with precedent for introducing new ones, the only requirement therein being "the hero of the game." Link could easily be female, it doesn't violate any of the requirements of the character, and might be kinda interesting.

Just have to post this link for the goddess pearls part, don't know if it was posted already.

OMG I love the new graphics so much.

It will be such a pleasure to do this game again, I've been waiting all year, retaining myself from playing it on Dolphin because I wanted to do it again since a while.

The best thing is that when I'll be done with it, Sonic Lost Worlds will come right after. :D

That boss battle is just nuts wow. If I didn't know what the game was I would just guess it was a game built from the ground up for the Wii U instead of a remastering of a Gamecube game.

funny how two of the best looking games this year are on crap underpowered hardware and ridiculed as cheap up-ports ;)

That video's amazing. I remember back when WW was first shown people were saying screenshots don't do the game justice, you've gotta see it in motion. This time around, not only do the screens look phenomenal, but the gameplay looks almost breathtaking. I know you've probably gotta be a little nostalgic to play Nintendo games so I'll admit that has a little to do with it, but WW HD looks so warm, so pleasant with just a hint of epic adventure that it really does remind me of being a kid again. It's damn near the excitement I'd get every Sat morning when I'd wake up in my jammiejams and turn on Transformers and the Gummie Bears.
Wind Waker: Making man-babies children again and children aspiring adventurers.

Do you guys think that soup glitch would still work?

If it has pro controller support(which I think it does) and if pausing the game brings up the inventory screen on the TV itself then it should work. The thing that might prevent that is if using the pro controller still requires the gamepad for inventory shit.

Pro Controller should make the game play like the GCN version as it also supports Off-TV which Aonuma has said does make it play like the original since you obviously don't have a second screen to look at for a permanent inventory.

What's the other game? 3D World?

Did I really need to explain this? :)

we haven't seen nearly enough to make any calls on 3D World or even DKC TF either way

Stunning graphics, makes me wish they were basing the next zelda on this style.

Btw I have always wondered, what happens when you reach the ocean borders? Invisible wall? Warps to other side?

From what I remember, the King of Red Lions halts and tells you that it's best not to go too far so that you maintain the quest at hand or something.

The King of Red Lion stops, says something along the lines of "the area outside the Great Sea is too dangerous, we must turn back!" and forcibly turns you around.

Probably for the best. He knew Phantom Hourglass was waiting over the horizon..
