Borderlands: The Handsome Collection |OT| All Jacked Up

Yea this was a common complaint when UVHM first came out, I'm a little apprehensive about getting there myself.

I was hoping Gaige's Anarchy skill would help offset it somewhat. Does that help at all?

Also at the beginning of my TVHM run I farmed a level 34 Unkempt Harold, and at level 40 it is still destroying everything. Maybe try farming one of those, I think all enemies scale to your level in UVHM so you could get a level 60 one. It's an easy item to farm in Three Horns.

Also I don't believe Constructors can be slagged.

It does(that ricochet skill + Anarchy are a great combo), but considering how easy it is to die in UVHM(especially against those Constructors), I rarely can get a stack of over 100 Anarchy(was able to hit 250 once I think, it was awesome...), which is where it really starts to shine. Deathtrap is a bigger helper than Anarchy so far, mostly for being a decoy that is.

Really wish the constant switch between a slag and a fire or corrosive(thank god using a shock one isn't required for depleting a shield) weapon wasn't necessary. At least the legendary Slagga SMG is great for that, powerful, big magazine, and shoots 3 bullets for the prize of one.

Hell yeah.
Can't even compare them.
Also, I think there's still way more people playing 2 than tps.

Okay then, I think what I will do is this...

Finish Main Story for BL2 + DLC and then hold off on 2nd playthrough and other DLC.

Then play through BLTPS and it's DLC before returning to BL2 for it's end game.

Can't wait to get up to max level with my Gunzerker so I can do the DPUH + Lady Fist ownage. Also, can't wait to try dual Lead Storms. I have so many Seraph crystals on my main (Krieg), it's not even funny.

Good plan.

By the way, I suggest you play BL2 DLCs in order, although you could skip 3rd one (not as good as others. No surprise though, since it wasn't made by GBX). But keep in mind that 4th one is the absolute best and something really, really amazing. If you get fatigued, play that one.

in TPS if I want to make a new character do I have to start the whole game over or do I just continue where I was at with the old character, just at level 1 with the new?

Inherited this on PS4 as a from a friend who didn't want it. This is my first time venturing into Borderlands. I'm about 2 hours in and really enjoying it so far. The humor is very late 90s/early2ks PC and the gunplay feels pretty good on a controller. The field of view is a little tight though.

I'm starting with Borderlands 2. Is there anyone else out there who is starting out (new character or new to the game) that wants to play some co-op? PSN: Randy_M_Green

So I just picked up the game a couple of days ago after playing and trading in GTA5 (yeah I hated it). Good GOD where has this game been all my life?!? I started off playing as a mechromancer, as it just looked cool, but am not enjoying it. Granted, I'm only level 9, but it just doesn't seem to fit my playstyle of "in-your-face" RnG. I'm looking at either Krieg or Sal, but am unsure between those two which to start with (I'll probably make and max both, but don't know which one to start with). Any advice from those who've used both, in terms of which was "fun" (quotes because I know it's subjective) to play all the way through UHVM with? I mean Krieg looks like he would be chaotic fun, but Sal looks like he'd have more fun gunplay.....

For the record, I main Maya, but...

Definitely start with Sal. You don't get much more "in your face" than the gunzerker.

If you end up being the kind of player who OPs multiple toons, having Sal as your number one will make that whole bootstrapping process a lot easier.

Krieg is awesome in his own right, but I suspect you'll appreciate him better after having got Sal through the OP levels.

Hey wondering something. Im interested to grab it, but going forward to buy a used copy of it. And im wondering, are all the DLC and games on disk, or its multiple digital codes you get in the box? Just want to make sure i get everything in it as if it was brand new if i buy it used.

thanks.

Thanks Skinner, took your advice and went with Sal. Am currently at level 9 (got there way faster than with Gaige) and am building down the Rampage path. So far my impressions, I've had to ffyl more frequently (probably because I am running head first into battle a lot more than with Gaige) but haven't died as much. In fact, I only died twice and both times was because I wasn't watching where I was standing (once next to corrosive barrel, the other caught in flames from captain flynt). Sal seems like a one-trick-pony, but that trick is just SO much FUN! Definitely glad I'm using him for my first runthrough before Krieg.

An oddly specific question maybe, but I actually activated the captain scarlet DLC too early. I'm at level 9 and it scaled the first mission of the DLC now scaled to 15. My question now: I wanted to do all the dlcs after playing through the main game. Am I now locked into easy mode for scarlet or will later missions in that DLC scale to my current level?

Thanks in advance to whoever is able to answer this.

it depends on the playtrough, every dlc has a base level on each playtrough, the scarlet one is 15 on the 1st an 30ish on the 2nd. the only way it scales right on the level of your char it's if you play after you kill the last boss on the 2nd playtrough, then every mission is scaled.

Really cool to see a patch. The FOV slider is a game changer. The game takes a pretty hard performance hit when you're in detailed or open areas though (think Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition). Setting it to 96 feels good. I don't feel like I'm looking through a GoPro in attached to someone's sternum anymore. Voice chat is actually clear enough to use now too.

Just saw this on the patch notes and wow what a difference FOV makes. Looks so much better. So are thinking 90 is the ideal/realistic setting?

Finally bought this on Xbox One thanks to the $24 Black Friday deal. Awesome remaster so far! 1080p, 60fps, all DLC included....

Only crappy part is the fact that in Borderlands 2, 10 DLC fast-travel locations appear right from the beginning without any explanation for what each is. Kind of annoying that I need to look it up just to figure out which is which.

What's the ideal FOV slider?

There really isn't an ideal value. It's all up to personal preference. And your personal preference may differ depending on how far away you sit from your TV - if you sit far away from it, a lower FOV might seem more natural. If you sit closer, a higher FOV works better.

For me, I sit 6-7 feet away from a 55" TV and I'm happy with an FOV around 90 degrees.

So I recently started a new Maya within the last week to test out her buffs, and wow she feels borderline overpowered.

I'm level 31 currently and the Cataclysm skill tree absolutely shreds, especially Cloud Kill. Anytime the cloud is on an enemy they just immediately die. I was able to take down Saturn in about 5 seconds. I haven't fought The Warrior yet. I'll be interested to see how she scales in TVHM.

Anyone playing this on PS4 that would want to coop tonight? I'm level 38 and looking to go thru true vault hunter mode. My PSN is perfybro if anyone wants to

I bought this day one but just started TPS with my brother over the holidays. I was waiting for a patch for the screen tearing and then other new releases got in the way.

But I'm enjoying it now. It's not BL2, but it's fun, and I like Nisha a lot. Looking forward to the Claptrap DLC too.

So I'm hoping this isn't too off topic (or too much pointless annoying babble) as I won't be talking about the handsome collection specifically... I was just figuring that this would be the more active thread regarding the franchise...

I'm a PS3 only gamer, zero plans to move up to PS4. Not that these are excuses or anything but seriously... if it isn't fatherhood that prevents me from getting any time, it's the simple fact that I kinda tend to prefer just watching tv/movies with the wife anyway.

So basically I play games maybe once every two weeks now, but those sessions can tend to go on for hours. And after realizing just how little of my PS3 collection I ever touched, I sold everything I had and kept the only two games I ever play... ever. USF4 and Bordelands Triple Pack.

Last night was my first sit down and play session in about a month... and I played Borderlands 1 for five hours straight. Because no matter how many times I play any of these games, I can sit and enjoy them for hours with all the additional playthroughs and the hopes of some phatter lewtz that it offers.

Now after ALL that typing, what I'm wanting to know from those who might be able to help me... is there a new THIRD game that I can add to my collection that can offer me the same kind of experience?

Diablo III maybe? I've never played any Diablo before... but I'm wondering if it's too slowly paced (it looks that way) that it wouldn't be as fun for me...

The entire Borderlands franchise may just be in my top 3 of all time because of how many hours i've put into them in the last five years... and I'm kinda too lazy to research other games like USF4 and Borderlands that offer me the same "sit down and play whenever" and still enjoy as much as I do...

Borderlands brought me to Diablo 3 on PS4.

Ive put nearly 500 hours into it now. Its the perfect pickup and play game.

Thinking of picking this up as it's only $24 currently. I've played through the game several times on PS3, beat about half the DLC and was slogging through TVH mode when I played last over a year ago. I just beat Tales From The Borderlands and now I've got the itch to play again. The lure of 60fps/1080 on PS4 is too much.

So my question is, are there still lots of people playing this online? I normally dislike MP but enjoy it quite a bit in BL. Are people only playing one DLC mainly? Or is it spread out through all the DLC / expansions? Basically wondering how healthy the BL PS4 community is.

PS4 ver got a patch last night. Any notes?

Nvm. Found it.

Fixed an issue that was causing ‘Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!’ to crash and freeze while playing through The game in multiple locations.

Fixed an issue that was causing ’Borderlands 2’ game to soft lock during the Pyro Pete fight.

Fixed an issue that was causing ‘Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!’ to crash when joining a host who is in Pity’s Fall.

My friend loves Borderlands 2. If I copied the fully completed UVHM character to a USB thumb drive and then reset UVHM, will I be able to revert back to the old save (USB thumb drive) for later? Would that content still be unlocked for that old save?

Playing Borderlands 2 for the first time ever now and...

When does it get as good as people suggest it is? It's okay.

Maybe it was a product of its time and I'm too late.

I had a good time with it, it tells a cool back story if you're familiar with BL2. It's cool to see how Jack built his army and came to power and all.

I'd also recommend playing as the Jack Doppelganger, it's a fun class and really powerful.

If you liked BL2 you'll like TPS. It's not as good, but it's close enough. It feels like a giant ass expansion, and I mean that in a good way.

Playing TPS after spending about 50 hours on BL2 and already enjoying it so much more.

I'm actually a character, with dialogue. And there's exciting shit happening.

I'm so much more immersed already. Much, much better.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Um... which game do I play first?

To avoid any regression in mechanics, I mean. Don't care so much about story...

BL2 is the better game, so I'd play it first for that reason.

The changes made to the mechanics in TPS (oxygen and low gravity) don't work overall but can be a refreshing change of pace when BL2 gets stale on you.

I have one more question. There are more characters to play as in BL2 than I remember. DLC? Are they explained anywhere? Just, kind of random seeing them there.

Both games got dlc characters. There's also more dlc missions but it's all really well integrated into the main game so it's hard to tell what's what.

I picked this up recently on sale on UK PSN. Plays great at 60fps.

Any chance BL1 gets ported to PS4? I've been working on the trophies for the PS3 version, but it performs horribly so a PS4 version would be ace.

Very unlikely. It's a shame since that is still my favorite one.

Is there anyone on the XBO that wants to do this?

I've got this and I think we can get SkinnerSw33t to jump in too. Let me know when you want to try it.
