Those aren't opinions though just because you preface them with 'imo'. They're just misguided statements. I mean you can say it's your opinion the world is flat, but it's not! Just like you can say Animal Crossing is good, but it's not.

Why do you people think ports = huge sales?

The simple fact is that people say 3rd party sales arent good on handhelds. 3rd parties is what is selling on PSP nowadays, the past month MH:portable and VP (ports) both sold 100k+, guess what? They are both thrid parties.

And even if this is media create topix, when you look at the US (uhoh) PSP has sold 8 million~ 3rd party games (near double what DS has sold even tho its been longer 4 months longer) which is incredible.

but comparing PSP a system out for 1 year~ to GBA who was out for 5~ years is complete joke :lol

Capcom is no exception, MHP is an exception to how 3rd party sales are likely on the PSP though. Most of Capcom's games bomb

Actually it's port, full scale console level remake, full scale console level remake, original game, port collection, arcade port, original game, port.

Scarily though, it seems the ports tend to outperform original titles on PSP. :/

And really, almost nothing sells on PSP nowadays. The fact that nearly half it's total software sales come from it's first 3-4 months on market is telling...

Just refuting your deeply flawed notion that 3rd parties don't move serious units on Nintendo handhelds. Fact is they do and in Japan it's significantly more than PlayStation handhelds currently, even post Game Boy.

DS has effectively killed off the GBA in Japan, for it to achieve similar success in North America, it must phase out the GBA brand here.

Because in North America, people are still buying tons of GBAs, that's what's holding the DS back here, not the PSP (which is an entirely different market).

Fake or not, unless the real DS numbers are much, much lower, this makes the 14th non-consecutive week that DS outsold everything else combined.

:lol Seriously though, Nintendo must be loving spring time in Japan ... it's the most wonderful time of the year (outside of late December aka Easter 2).

Woohoo Nintendomination! But to be fair i think microsoft quit manufacturing xboxs, so the xbox customers probably bought a gba instead.

The ratio (weekly DS units)/(weekly PSP units) breaks a new record with 4.29. The previous record was 4.27 set in Dec last year.

So DS Lite shortages are ending? Nintendo is shipping at least 110,000 a week now. Also, since Nintendo can ship at least 50,000 DS units a wekk, looks like fat DS is now readily available.
