Well I guess I didn't do horrible, but still I did pretty bad. :lol

Holy crap, those GBA numbers are absolutely insane. GC numbers aren't too bad either. I would see them increase next month as well, especially due to the Mario Party bundle.
PSP and NDS are neck-and-neck it seems. I wonder how AC will affect the DS numbers.
Low Xbox numbers are too be expected but the 360 numbers are not bad at all. I would have loved if the Gamecube numbers were higher though. :lol

It's a good game for sure, but I also wonder if part of those sales were due to those pre-rendered commericals shot to look like gameplay. It worked with FF7!thorns said:

Now, I'd imagine the DS software sold porportionally better than PSP compared to the nearly 1:1 hardware ration this month.
I'm disappointed by the 360 HW numbers though. If this is all they could muster should have waited till spring 2006 w/ HD DVD drive and launch the system instead of cripplilng it in 2008/2009 with a standard DVD drive. Well we'll see if this happens but it is something I'm worried about with 360.

As for those disappointed with the 360's #s, wasn't it announced prior to launch that shipments were gonna be ridiculously low? I can understand being upset with the shipment, but the actual sell-through has got to be very close to 99% (outside of retailers getting off on being withholding).

In fairness I think the GBA killed a lot of us, would love to see a breakdown between SP and Micro.
Fantastic software sales for the 360, shame there wasn't enough hardware to go around and hope people with just games get to pick one up in December.

A few comments on HW sales

1) Holy shit on 360 tie ratio. That is gargantuan. Don't give me bundles. Bundles work because consumers make them work. It's also the case that almost no B&M retailers forced bundles. I'm floored. They sold more software in their first month than any system in history (US NPD).
2) Boo to Microsoft on the crappy number of HW units available. They really, really have missed a huge advantage they had. It's certainly not completely lost, but it's a huge shortfall from what they were envisioning earlier this year.
3) GBA is not that incredible, IMO (923,664 / 1,198,489 / 1,186,667 / 1,117,175 were the sales the past 4 years in November). Still, it's a bit higher than I thought as I thought DS would be higher and eat into the GBA sales more.
4) Sony should have dropped the PS2 price to $129. Period. 546k is pathetic for it's sales in November. Now, they're going to do it at a time where it won't have nearly the same impact.
5) DS sales are disappointing IMO, and PSP sales are impressive (again,IMO based on expectations). The DS is almost half the price and had MKDS come out and Nintendogs. Perhaps we'll see a bounce in December for the DS.
6) Xbox is dead. And there are PLENTY of units on the shelves. Consumers have abandoned it for the 360.
7) The Gamecube is also incredibly disappointing. 280k is it's lowest total in December, ever. By a big amount. ( 647k / 425k / 751k / 350k were it's sales the past 4 years)
8) Overall, though it's quite amazing that the market is able to support 7 platforms at once. There has NEVER been anywhere close to this many platforms viable at one time.

Awww man, I was only 92,000 off victory of which 267,438 came from the GBA which by far saw the biggest percentage increase in sales this month even though there was a lack of releases. Oh well, even if I didn't win, at least Nintendo and VIP shareholder Gahiggidy did

I'm not trying to be anti-XBox at all, but the release of the XBox 360 inadvertently had really hurt the sales of the XBox, even when the earlier console probably could have sold around 4-500k this month had the 360 not come out. Now, with massive shortage of the new console and the figures for the older one dropping off dramatically, it seems like overall hardware sales for the company will be really low - not a good thing, IMO.
My predictions were:
PS2: 740K
GC: _________ (waiting for bundle numbers, if not gotten, then I'll come up with something)
XBOX: 190K
360: 415K
GBA: 900K
NDS: 440K
PSP: 360K (very unsure about this)
I almost got GBA right. :lol
