Holy crap. Where did that come from?

PS4 #1, no surprise.

The only chance Microsoft has to top Sony in sales is the Master Chief Collection. I doubt it will give the Xbox One enough momentum to topple the PS4 though.

No way it gives the Bone enough momentum to top PS4 during November. It's going to be really interesting to see the first true Black Friday, since they were both barely a week or so old last year, for the systems.

Will we see actual numbers this month? We already knew PS4 would be number 1.

Incredible for TLOU to place #1 after just a few days on the market. But also expected, we want numbers!

we see them most months, cryptic or otherwise, the leakers just usually wait a few hours to do it.

Well, damn. Why in July in particular?

It's been heavily discounted on XB1 for months, it was $19.99 on XB1 at amazon for a long time. I presume they are courting TF buyers in prep for this fall.

Congrats Sony.

Interesting that TLoU:R was only out a couple of days in July. Good for ND and those that didn't get to play it on the PS3.

Microsoft also released a statement, but it was even less specific than Nintendo.

“Xbox One continues to sell at a strong and steady pace following the release of the $399 console in June, when month-to-month sales more than doubled,” a Microsoft spokesperson told GamesBeat. “We continued to see this momentum in July.”

strong and steady

So they are saying that sales doubled month-to-month again? Can't we calculate the numbers then?

Offset by digital perhaps?

I don't think the new consoles have created such an additional focus on digital that the market has changed by such a large amount in a year.

More likely down to the fewer releases; can't really see momentum building behind software revenues outside of individual big releases. The market is going to be a lot less diverse.

It's interesting how the ps3 version of watch dogs outsold the xb1 version.

Just as interesting is the xb1 version of ghosts leads all platforms.

thanks for the laugh
last july, the last of us, minecraft and an american football game made up the top three.

Really glad for TLOU, well deserved once again. Even as a remaster, it's not surprising to see it at the top. How did the TR13 remaster do on PS4? I think we're going to see even more of them if the sales are this good

So they are saying that sales doubled month-to-month again? Can't we calculate the numbers then?

That would suggest XB1 sold 394,000 units in July which they didn't else they would be singing it from the rooftops

They're clearly referring to the doubling of sales that happened in June

Has the Xbox One beat the PS4 at all yet? If so, which month?

December 2013 by about 50k during heavy PS4 shortages
