How is it a bomb if it sells to the publisher's expectations? You can't magically sell MORE than what you have shipped you know. I think the shipment number is realistic considering what Rockman Rockman and Irregular Hunter X did, and the sales show that there's much more interest in this time compared to the previous Capcom PSP outings.

I don't know, duckroll. But seeing 28,000 sales, there's no way I can change that into a good performance. If the publisher has no faith in PSP, it makes sense of course judging by those exact games you mentioned, but it sucks because that means actual good games don't sell. No, Gundam sells :<

PS2 Growlancer V - 37467

Forgot about this one...not very good, although solid. It comes from the best selling growlancer (IV) which was the first one to reach 100k... I think there are one or two fans of this series so I'll add sales of it :D

NDS NEW SMB - 98038
PSP Fist of North Star SE - 82556
NDS Tamagotchi 2 - 75853
NDS Mario Basket 3on3 - 48564 / 94%

PS2 Kokimeki 2nd - 36968
NDS Starfox Command - 28358 / 27%
PSP Extreme Ghosts 'n Goblins - 21321
NDS Atsumare Pawafuru DS - 18417
??? もんｐべすと - 10606
PSP Carnage Heart Portable - 3915
PS2 Wizardary Gaiden - 3610
360 Bomberman Act:Zero - 2594
PSP Every Extend Extra - 2458
PSP Locoroco - 7672
Thanks neo!

(If true):
DS - 10,108,506
PSP - 3,799,037

NSMB - 2,614,228
Tamagotchi 2 - 268,311
Mario Basketball - 159,272
Shaberu! Oryouri Nabi - 233,702
Sengoku Basara 2 - 175,944
Locoroco - 68,801

Great sales for PSP and what must be its best post holiday buying season week for game sales this year. However, unfortunately for the platform we've now had the big summer push Sony talked about. At least it's helped and may continue good sales of hw and sw over the coming weeks.

DS finally passed 10 million on MC and continues to have amazing sales. Mario Basketball is selling better than I expected maybe because Mario's status has improved in Japan since the amazing success of NSMB. Shaberu! Oryouri Nabi sales are continuing to be very impressive.

Also, nice to see the awesome Rhythm Tengoku having decent numbers. It would've no doubt sold more if the WarioWare name was attached, but I'm happy Nintendo went with an original franchise, hopefully it will have good legs.

Starfox Command, pretty low sales imo, certainly not a good sell through. It's become a less and less important franchise over the years and even though I'm a fan, I can't say I'm excited for the game.

How can people be so cheap not to buy Bomberman for 360.
That's piss poor :(
Still, better than EEE... that's gotta hurt. Better off making average action games with Korean developers.

Yeah it's kinda surprising. Considering the low price and the core base of the Xbox360 you would think it would have sold to a large % of the userbase....

Still, better than EEE... that's gotta hurt. Better off making average action games with Korean developers.

Haha, N4 confirmed? :D

Comparing the budgets - maybe not? Although wasn't N3 funded by MS? :D

Gundam's 1st week sales are even better than Monster Hunter Portables's sales (113,640, M-Create).

However, based on historical tendency, IIRC, Gundam games does not have good legs. The first week sales is usually around 30% to 50% of total sales before it drop from the top 30 list.

I thought NSMB can do more than 100K this week. I guess I was wrong (but 98K is still very, very good).

other numbers coming

Can we please have this in a new thread for this week instead of in the last week thread every time. It's really silly to have this week's numbers in the last week thread. Also, these numbers have been spot on since the beginning.

Damn. Guess I was wrong about NSMB. I just cannot believe it has once again gone over 100,000+ copies, in its 10th? week in a row now.

With that said, I'll bet anything that it will dip below 100k next week. No new colors to keep it above that number.*

*That I know of. It has to slow down sooner or later FFS.

NDS NEW SMB - 98038

Mario Basket 3 on 3 seems to have pretty good legs.
And wow at Gundam, it could very well be the best selling Sony PSP game if it has legs.
Too bad at Every Extend Extra, Ultimate Ghosts & Goblins, Starfox Command, and New Super Mario Bros (for not selling over 100k for once).
With the tragic decline of Tamgotchi 2, it seems that "real games" are doing slightly better on the Nintendo DS in comparison (although we didn't get the Brain Trainings and Animal Crossing).

Journalistic integrity, I would guess. But yeah, I see your point. We all blow our load every week in the last week's thread rather than the new thread. But as long as we all get it out of our system that is what matters.

I'm impressed by NSMB, still selling ~100k per. That's almost disgusting.

PSP not doing so bad.

Not doing so bad for a system being outsold 3 to 1 every week. It's hard to take a postive from that, except for possibly being consistent...but the DS is gaining more and more permanent separation from the PSP in this gen's handheld race. It's a matter of time before we see the evidence world wide.

And do we do worldwide numbers, ever? Europe doesnt release lists or some bit, but at least we could combine Japan and US, right?

WHERE'S ANIMAL CROSSING?!

Star Fox... Nintendo should hold off on the franchise for a while... while it still has some respect left since the sales are GONE. Even the DS couldn't help it (like the DS helped MegaMan, Mario, Metroid, Castlevania etc).

Good sales for PSP again. It really is doing well now and increasing every week. Oddly high sales for Gundam. Just like monster Hunter they've seemed to flock to one particular game for no apparent reason. It's on top for the week ^.^

Continued great sales for New Super Mario Bros. I doubt it'll ever be #1 again, but it should hover around those spots for a long time.

Correct we could, but you really just downed the PSP when it's doing perfectly fine. DS is doing abnormally high for a new system, PSP is showing how it should be selling (even though it's had soem long weeks). It's sold consistently every week and has even started to increase.

I have:
DS LTD at 10,190,033 in Japan
DS LTD at 5,186,022 in US
and 5,000,000 in Europe

For a total there of 21,403,424

PSP LTD at 3,796,688 in Japan
PSP LTD at 4,713,531 in the US
and an unupdated 2.44 million in Europe

For a total of 10,950,219

It's alway sad somehow to see games that have clung on for so long fall beneath a certain level...

Salud, NSMB.

AC:WW, you fought well.

Goodbye.

Pureauthor - We WILL see Animal Crossing back again.

You know, my heart just fell for a couple of seconds right there. A friend we've seen so long stay in the Top 10 and impress everyone. It was such a CONSTANT (if you get what I'm trying to say) seeing it sit in the Top 10 for so long, I miss it being up there.

Have faith. And when it IS back in the top 10, I'm making a topic to celebrate it.

Erm, no. Famitsu's sales charts are always a week old and never the current week, since Famitsu is published before even the Enterbrain figures are in. These are the rumored MediaCreate numbers, which is a different tracker completely from Enterbrain, published on Japanese news sites. Gamefront accuracy FTL. :p

Nintendogs *All three Total* 2,084,851 1,289,071 3,000,000 6,373,922
Animal Crossing: Wild World 623,517 3,002,009 600,000 4,225,526
New Super Mario Bros 728,889 2,614,228 3,343,117

In just 2 months, New Super Mario Bros. has become the 3rd best selling DS game worldwide. And this is WITHOUT Europe numbers.

Good Analysis. I think you're numbers are pretty reliable. What about PSP's numbers in Europe, I think that passed sure the 4 millions mark, but it is not clear.

Erm, take it up with Gamefront, because they say these are the top ten from Famitsu/Enterbrain during the period 31.07.06 to 06.08.06. They even say the positions may vary from the soon to be released Media Create chart. :p

If you like my numbers and you have not already done so... would you like to try out my TEVS document? I've been working on it for 4 years now and currently it's emaile dout to over 90 online users (for free) monthly. It tracks videogame sales data for all current generation systems, and even has data from the SNES/GEN N64/PSX era.

All I would need is an email and I could send it out to you, and with 90 other subscribers... how could you go wrong for free extra data?

I have no updated number for PSP in Europe. I'm pretty sure it's over 3.5 million at least, but no link is provided so I can't put it up for sure.

Btw, I love your avatar. Tales of Sym is an anime/manga? I gotta get it.

It isn't coming back, but it is starting to get some attention. But where is software? They must start buying more games.

Anyways, here's how it compared to last year, I have a chart, but I don't know how to post it. Someone else has the exact same chart anyways:

People really need to learn how to differentiate between sale and price drop. The Amazon sale is all but over, the value pack is back to regular price and the non-value pack is only like 1000 yen off now. I think it's safe to say that the newly released Gundam game had more to do with the weekly sales than the Amazon sale.

I meant by not coming back that it never was really out of the limelight. It still held pretty consistent sales and stayed at #2 in Japan from the get-go. Now it's just starting to get MORE attention.

Plus coming back means it would have had to overtaken the DS in some aspect for the week, which it hasn't. But still a very good week for both systems.
