Starfield releases September 6, 2023

Ya dense forests, or sweeping lands of grass. I don't want just rocky formations.

These parts look promising in that way to me - but maybe there will be a more forest vibe type thing as well

Quality and variety with brand new IP along with next gen only, that's what we purchased new hardware for.

This is exactly what the hell I purchase a new console for. Xbox is not lacking for diversity at all. There's a little something of everything especially when you factor in 3rd party Game Pass day ones like a Plague Tale: Requiem last year along with the other first party stuff.

Not too bad. I assumed June 2023 would be too soon, so I predicted late Fall or Winter 2023 would be more feasible if it was to come out this year.

I’m surprised they just dropped their numberology thing all together. 11.11.11 for Skyrim. 22.11.22 for Starfield, at first. Then 9.6.23?
Or am I missing something clever here? 9 divided by 3 is 3, 3 times 2 is 6, 6 divided by 3 is 2, 2 beside 3 is 23 gah!!1

September 6th is the birthday of Todd Howard’s favorite actor, Idris Elba.

I’ll probably buy it after a few months since my most anticipated feature will be its modded play through.

I will be utterly surprised if it comes out this year. I expect it will get pushed into early next year.

If just a release date is enough to rattle the trolls you know it’s potentially a monster.

Looking forward to the June show, all will be revealed there. Hoping for a space radio station personally :messenger_tears_of_joy: Spent literally hours wandering the wasteland in Fallout 3 just to listen to that.

No one world builds like Todd Howard. No one. No Man’s Sky? Get that shit out of your mouth - sacrilege to even utter the names in the same breath.

I think there’ll be mods on Xbox, right?

Yea Fallout and Elders Scrolls are nice IPs...but CDPR (after all patches) delivered a better experience with Cyberpunk, even better than Fallout 4...

My concern about this new IP is that seems like the son of No Mans Sky and Mass Effect ..but could and as the creepy son full of bugs and glitches.

There is so much to play and coming soon that it is hard to keep track of everything. Still haven't started Atomic Heart yet.

I keep seeing people say this, but we’ve seen so little I don’t understand it. Is it going to be said about every space game in future with planets?

No Man’s Sky has no story of note for one thing (I think they’ve tried to tack one on since launch perhaps?), and Bethesda are nothing if not story tellers…

This is going to be character and story driven at it’s very core.

I’m not seeing anything so far that improves on either of those games or RPGs in general.

The game is gathering so much hype, I’m not feeling it personally.

At least it’s a 2023 game, which is great news. And there are plenty of great games to play before September, the main one being FF16. It seems like a good release date to me, as long as there aren’t any other bangers coming out around that time.

69 23. You wrote date wrong way.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Don't trust Bethesda to write a story and characters worth a damn but we'll see.

I mean, who intends to play a Bethesda open world game for character development. That's never been the focal point, or strong suite, in their WRPGs and not what attracts people towards them *shrug*.

I never even finished the main story line Skyrim and I’ve put more than 100 hours in that game

I don’t care who you are if you put your face

I HATE when some YouTubers put their goofy reaction face in their thumbnail…..

Whether you hate it or not, it works and they're getting the exact reaction they want from you. Free advertisement. Working as intended.

Personally when I see it I avoid their videos like a plague, but I guess it works for some people.
You aren’t missing much. The RGT guy was endearing when his channel was smaller. Over the past year he’s become insufferable. There are tons of better options out there for general gaming news.

There better be tons of story quests everywhere, which is what No Man's Sky is missing and made me drop off fast.
Man No Man’s Sky with an actual in depth storyline would be so much better. It’s really the reason it just doesn’t work for me. I know they added shit but it’s still too barebones and the emphasis on just mining shit and building shit as the main things - I dunno.

Same. I will buy on Xbox and on steam, and play via gamepass. Skyrim is still one of my favourite games ever.
Facts this will be my first steam game. So far I’ve just played everything that I already had on my series x from gamepass. I want them mods lol.

An yes I will be using a controller like the console peasant I’ve always been.

Edit: Going to do my first run through on gamepass on my series x first ofc.

Yeah, that's what made me bounce off No Man's Sky, you can do all this cool stuff but for no reason ... makes the whole game feel empty. BoTW too.

I'm fairly confident Bethesda will deliver in the story quest department tho.
Botw I didn’t feel this way at all, No man’s sky felt completely pointless to me though. It was like why am I doing this. Maybe it’s the survival aspect? I dunno but BOTW felt like there was just more of a genuine sandbox fun factor
