Twitch Plays Pokemon: Dig, Dig for Victory!

There shouldn't be a vote. It should be implemented by the streamer when we need it.

The instant anarchy wins, democracy starts to get more votes. The moment it goes over to democracy, anarchy is starting to get more traction.

This thing is so meta it's unbelievable.

Impossible with the 20-40 seconds of twitch lag.
How so? What's to stop them from taking a vote for 1 second, then us seeing the result 30 seconds later? Maybe I'm overlooking how it works...

It wouldn't solve the delay problem, but it seems like it would filter out a lot of the random one off 'start's or 'down's that happen at bad times. The game can't accept input as fast as people are chatting anyway, so it would basically just make a better decision about which input to take. At least that's how I imagine it.

I would hope they would try and stick with anarchy for anything that isn't a stupid tile/rock/ledge puzzle. I only check in every now and then, but it's just more interesting to watch Red aimlessly wander into walls.

The attitude of some that democracy shouldn't be based on a vote and should be put into place by the streamer is actually really intriguing. Rather than letting the people vote for what they want, you would rather have a monarch above them all tell them what the best way to progress is?

Democracy coming back in full force. Good to see.

Why would they get back to democracy now, maaaan, so boring. Thats exactly what I meant, as soon we are back to anarchy, people want to change back to democracy while the anarchy people are inputting directional movements.

Now we are as far as people wanting to change to democracy for normal movement. Meeeeeeh.

We already tried that and rebellion happened, START9

Actually, it looks like it's stabilizing right now which is good. Anarchy is where the fun and unpredictability comes from.

It's this and Nuzlocke which make pokemon more interesting to watch because you can never guarantee what will happen... By itself pokemon is boring to watch, and democracy just adds to that additional tedium.

(edit) Argh why Dig pokemon at top of the list? This is danger danger danger!

Yes, because people will want to take the easy and boring way out when it isnt even needed (democracy). It was needed for the maze, but people will probably want to use it for everything remotley challenging which is no fun.

This anarchy/democracy thing is like Red slipping between lucidity and insanity. One moment he's a somewhat functioning pkmn trainer, the next he's Ash-tier.

I think a ten minute freeze period between civic changes would be a good idea. Anarchy works better if half the chat isn't going 'democracy'

I don't see how people see democracy as fun to watch. Of course 91K people are going to know how to play Pokemon. If this stream started that way it would have none of the traction it does now, because nothing funny or unexpected would ever happen.

The whole point of the stream is that given enough time, a mob of people with seemingly random inputs can get the job done. I believe we would've gotten out of the maze, eventually.

I'm hoping this voting system goes away after we're out of here.
It's nice for the puzzle areas (like victory road omg) but I enjoy the complete unorganized chaos of the original input system.

People are just trying to go to democracy instead of focussing on actually progressing during anarchy, so stupid.
