Even if these reports don't know the price of the Kinect components, if it was nearly as much as the rest, it would be like $625 for the whole thing contradicting your statement of XB1 not being sold at a loss intially.
Would think it was down to Nintendo trying to shift as much 3DS inventory as possible as the n3DS will leave plenty of it on the shelves.

ms was (re-)active like crazy, while sony only followed their path. it looks as if the ps bundles and price were already decided a long time ago while ms went all in nearly spontaniously. it's telling that the playstation had a specially designed box with all content in it and the xbox deal plus bonus games was put together...
both can nevertheless be happy with the result i guess.
Well they were extremely aggressive, were they not ? I think I said in the npd prediction that it shouldn't be a surprise if ps4 lost to xbone in November.
I mean I didn't think they would lose by that much, but hey with all those deals I guess it was kind of expected. if I lived in the US I would of picked one up too, and I am not a fan of xbone one.
I also imagine they want it to luanch with a new game, they missed the Smash boat so im think N3DS will luanch near S.t.e.a.m or MM Remake. Likley MM since its more marketable.

Well, give them some credit. But that doesn't change the fact that XBOX One sales are going into freefall if MS really tries to go back or even near to pre-holiday prices. Besides, the One is still weak as hell in developed countries.

I find it extremely fitting (for now). Once Microsoft gets aware of their superpower again they can easily beat Sony - I say "for now" because of that battle vs. war thingie you know

I think a substantial portion of the Wii userbase were new to gaming and very soon realized they don't want videogames like they thought they would.
I don't think they moved on to PS4/XBO, they left for good and play ocassionally candy crush on their phones whenever they have the rare idea of getting into gaming.
I know, anecdotal, but I have a ton of friends like this.
They hate videogames, think are stupid, all of them, but bought a Wii for Wii sports and Wii Fit. exclusively, Mario Galaxy, Zack & Wiki or Resident Evil 4 never, ever crossed their minds.
Really sad Dragon Age didn't chart, I would double dip and buy it again if I had a better PC setup but it would only be me contributing to digital sales twice in a row since I bought it on PS4 digitally. I'll still prob do that eventually though once all DLC is out. I reaaaallly hope it holds up for more sequels, DA:I corrected quite a few problems and I'm having such a good time playing it!

Wii U numbers are a pretty sad sight, but the runaway success of amiibo means that they could slowly start to boost the system's sales over time.
we did get real numbers. 400k more xb1 units sold versus ps4.

2014 is going to be a peak year for the system in the us. what amiibos represent is another way for nintendo to get more money out of their existing fanbase similar to how microsoft and sony make theirs pay for multiplayer.
i also don't know about calling it a runaway success. let's see how it does during nonholiday months before we know just how popular it will last and how widespread it actually is. and without a game attached to amiibos (aside from smash bros.), i don't know how they would boost wii u sales since the 3ds will also use them. and so will upcoming platforms, i imagine.

Sony haven't released NPD PR for longer than I can even remember.
The most they've done is tweeted about being the number 1 system for the month.
There's nothing to tweet about this month.

Still, interest in Nintendo as a brand will drive more people to consider Wii U. An aggressive price cut combined with a full amiibo title (skylanders style) could do wonders for the console.

Good numbers all around. GTA being up there is surprising with all the bundles that included it.
Imagine if I had just glanced over that gif and were it not for your comment I would not have had a clue.
Yeah Argos are slling it for £349.99 with far cry 4, gtav and tlou remastered

Microsoft will have to decide whether they want to keep the pressure on Sony by hitting them where it hurts (price and the ability to take a loss) or if they'd rather settle for second place and not continue being so aggresive pricewise. Sony, on the other hand, should be getting ready for drastic price cuts if they want to keep the lead in critical territories like the US and UK. Consumer goodwill will only get you so far when your opponent offers a much cheaper product.
