Seems high, they only just hit 1 million sold in the UK. I can't imagine they'd want the best part of year's sales in stock.

I usually stay away from NPD threads. Just wanted to pitch in with my two cents and say that I have said from the start of the gen that I don't see MS losing. The more they fall behind, the more money they'll throw at the problem, and the more aggressive they'll get. Momentum is on their side now, and the ball is in Sony's court, but I still see MS winning the marathon. This is the scenario in the US and UK at least.
Who knows. I agree that Sony will make back that loss pretty easily next year. Cause the games are coming both first party and third.
But for this month specifically, yeah, MS winning with the kinds of deals they had on the biggest month of the year was a matter of course.

Well it's shipped. So of they are at 1.1-1.2 in actual sales by year end, they probably want 400-500k in stock there. So maybe not 2 million, but 1.5 ish
The U.S. would have to be more than 6 million shipped
They sure won the previous two gens.

Sony knew since early November that the would not win this NPD and probably not the December one. IMHO, they don't care. Their worldwide lead is significant enough for them. They sold more than 800000 consoles in US this month which is good and they will certainly outsell the X1 worldwide for November and December. This war is a worldwide one people...

People are probably overestimating this win. Its good that MS wins a month, but its more concerning what they will do outside of black friday or the november month when people arent in such a rush to get the deals and the console is a higher price. Will the sales go back to what they were previously?
MS can't loose 170 bucks from their original price plus store gift cards and free games and not feel anything.
Its also only two regions. They are trying to claw back even a little marketshare from their home territories, its not really a win per se, even though it is.
I was kinda sad that Sony was equalized before we found out the truth. Sony didn't have to literally do anything and they still would have gotten close. That means they would have continued to do little of anything. Maybe now they will learn to be slightly more proactive

If MS only shipped 6m to N.A. they'd be sold out everywhere sometime around now. (mid December) They're looking at selling ~6m in USA alone, there could be 7m shipped to North America easily.

I'm disappointed that utter shit like GTA and ACU make the top 10 but Dragon Age doesn't. I hope the GOTY PR boat gets it in the top 5 for December. I don't want EA to be wary of approving a sequel because cheap rehashes and cash-ins beat it in November.

Probably because giving up $50-100 million every BF when the competition is making profit is not very sustainable. They have the money to do it sure, but they have little to gain now that the war for the living room has proven to be a dream at best.
It had a better launch than the previous two games. I don't think that EA are that worried.
Yeah that's some mayor wishful thinking. By next years holiday Sony already have the price of the PS4 dropped.
That only matters if a holiday like this one, which was especially anemic for Sony happens again. Which i doubt they would let happen if they have any sense. Next year will be much more competitive on both ends, i'd wager.

Are there new figures since last night? When I went to bed XBO was about 400k ahead of PS4, which from my rough maths means the gap is still around 700k in PS4's favour (500k-600k if you're just talking about the 2014 sales gap).
Also 'easily win' is debatable given the deals MS were pushing.

They'll have some good/ok results in this quarter because of PS4/XBO - GTA V, but their net loss for this fiscal year is - $76.772.000 currently.
*Last years net loss was - $186.034.000 for the same timeframe.

I assume this is standard practice for tracking down leaks; kind of like putting certain mistakes or watermarks on a script you circulate to tell which copy was let into the wild.
This is going to be a fun race. The worldwide sales is going to be Sony domination but US and UK looks like its going to be a close race. They problems is that Microsofts price penetration can't go on for too long, they must have gone on a big minus this holiday with the different deals and bundles. But if Sony wins each month and Microsoft takes the holiday seasons it will almost go up. The interesting thing here is to see if Microsoft has gained any positive consumer awareness. Last year it was Sony domination but the different deals and bundles this year from Microsoft has been like a present to the consumers.

I'm subscribing to the theory that CBOAT was buttdevasted when he saw XB1 sales superiority, and used his cred to post bullshit just to watch the small fire that he sparked out.
In the US you mean? Then maybe. Worldwide, it would almost be a miracle for them to win with current status.
That said, nice performance on NPD for november. They needed that to stay relevant and managed it well (arguably with a high cost attached though). Hopefully this will lead them to support more original first parties.
Bundles aren't counted in NPDs Top 10.Good numbers all around. GTA being up there is surprising with all the bundles that included it.

Why can't they? Sony have what for the holiday? Uncharted 4? They spread thier titles all over the year, when it come to holiday,
it will be forza6, halo 5, tomb raider maybe QB vs uncharted 4 and...weather patch for Bloodborne?
Not to mention MS have another COD and AC marketing deal, Sony don't have destiny to save them this time around.
