What? The deal started Sunday. Sunday, August 9. This deal had no impact on July. July closed on the first.
Yea, for some reason I thought this deal was going on for the past month :3

I was a bit stumped too by the revelation. I also thought that deal started this month. What? The deal started Sunday. Sunday, August 9. This deal had no impact on July. July closed on the first.
No hate, just wondering why you think it will win the month?
Hah. "Just" a $350 bundle with what, three games? Four games? It was a fire sale.

Yeah, Xbox should definitely take August. Literally giving the Ones away or vice versa.
Well. I don't know. It's not like we've stopped selling ps4s during this week. It's been a great promotion for them, but best buy is only 10% of the market for NPD and this is a single week sale limited to just us. Leading into this week we've had ps4 still was winning so far. We don't have a lot of preorders for the Madden bundle, though I'm sure it'll do something.
This one sale is a solid boost, but it doesn't affect the trends for gamestop or Wal-Mart, the two monsters for market share on consoles.
It's hard to read into specific deals for us, as a result.

Wait! I just realized the MGSV Bundles

August goes to Sony confirmed.
Heh. I'm not making any such claim. I'm actually hoping for more insight from those in the other giants. Cause I have no idea about how the Madden bundle is thing at gs for example. It could be ready to clean house. We've got more preorders for the taken king bundle in my district than the Madden ones, by a pretty solid margin. I'm kind of surprised, honestly.

How do The Taken King bundle preorders stack up against the Destiny bundle from last year? I wouldn't imagine the numbers would be that close, but even having 100K vs. 300K sold for September NPD would make a pretty big difference compared to the Forza bundle.
The MGSV bundles are only happening in Europe and Japan (so far).
I wonder why Sony isn't bringing the MGSV bundle to NA? It would sell like hot cakes.

It's probably as simple as them deciding between TKK bundle or MGSV and Destiny has been pretty good to playstation I'd imagine.
Well, I'll say outright they're not as high. Nope.
Beating both the Madden and forza bundles in my district though. Easily.
They are releasing both bundles in Europe though.
Much of [Wii Us software] growth can be attributed to Splatoon, which inked nearly 85,000 total units in its third month to bring its lifetime total to nearly 540,000 total units in the United States alone, reads a Nintendo press release provided to GamesBeat. As of June 30, the game has sold more than 1.6 million total units around the world.
While Splatoon continues to deliver an impressive performance for the Wii U, Nintendo also noted that its handheld business is also doing well.
Through the first seven months of 2015, sales of Nintendo 3DS hardware have increased by nearly 35 percent over the same time frame in 2014, reads the press release.
The company is hoping to keep that momentum as it finishes out 2015 with releases like Super Mario Maker, Yoshis Wooly World, and Star Fox Zero for the Wii U and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, and Yo-Kai Watch for the 3DS.
That $500 Samsung TV + XB1 deal may shifted a decent amount of units, at least according to employees on Reddit:
Grain of salt and all, but ~12k boost to XB1 next NPD if true.
I don't know how they would verify across the entire company, unless they directly went in and tallied up every single district's sales, or if they were high enough to get summary reports. We sold out of all the inventory we had in pretty much every store, but as I said in a previous post, some stores got more inventory, and some got less.
We're supposed to get in more stock as part of our weekly shipments, but it's still not a uniform number across the districts.
Sony’s on a roll.
The PlayStation 4 was the top-selling console in July in the United States, according to NPD data that Sony shared with GamesBeat.
“We are truly humbled by the success of the PS4, and we would like to thank gamers for making it the top selling console and No. 1 in software sales in the United States in July,” a Sony spokesperson said in a statement provided to GamesBeat. “The Batman Arkham Knight PS4 bundle continues to be a top seller, and we are looking forward to delighting fans next month with the launch of the Limited Edition Destiny: The Taken King PS4 bundle on September 15.”

Moderate growth YoY, boring month.

I'd have to say oversight or ignorance. Leaning towards the latter. Can't think of a logical reason not to aside from either supply constraints or underestimation of MGS's North American popularity. The lack of a plain-Jane console bundle is baffling as well.
inb4 it charts anyway
My heart is pumping. Its going to be very close this month.
