Is there a way to grab the rune and bone charm from the two overseers giving the sermon near Karnaca docks? (without being spotted that is).

It's actually possible to just crouchwalk up to them and snag the runes and charms without them noticing you. If you approach from the alley, stay crouched, hug the wall and and move very slowly you'll move within object-grabbing range no problem. Fortunately the grab-distance is very lenient.

I'd put it more towards 25-30 if you're taking your time.

Im trying to be stealthy but not restarting every time I get spotted, and mostly non lethal. Trying to collect a lot of the runes and bonecharms but not sticking to collecting them all. Im at about 13 hours and just started chapter 8.

Its a pretty long game.

Doing my first powers run. So much to choose from!

You can sneak around behind them (on their left) and nab them off the table while their backs are turned. You can use a bottle to distract them if needs be.

Gotta admit, (mission 4 spoilers),
kneeing Jindosh in the nuts before driving my sword through his neck felt pretty satisfying, even if it was a bit...unoriginal.

I seem to have hit a bug when trying to complete the Clockwork Mansion non-lethally. I
start the electroshock chair and everything seems fine
but the mission doesn't mark itself as complete.

I see that someone else has hit this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/403640/discussions/0/208684375415016399/ , but don't see any solutions. Anyone on GAF have this problem as well?

To provide an update on this in case anyone ever encounters the same thing - the newest patch didn't fix the bug, but I was able to load a Clockwork Mansion save that was about 15 minutes earlier and when I got to the problematic section again everything worked as it should. Not entirely sure what I did differently but at least I didn't have to replay the whole level again.

Always be saving.

Very satisfying, but the non-lethal solution is infinitely more savage. He's probably better off being dead, haha.

I was so bummed I couldn't reason with him and get him to use his smarts to help the world, it's such a shame to see one of the few brilliant minds be destroyed. But then again, he was a smug asshole and a tiny bit of me enjoyed frying his brain.

NG+!!
Nice!

Did quick load of my latest Emily walkthrough. Had the rune crafting upgrade. Did a quick junking of all my bonecharms and crafted more runes (spent them too, just in case - don't know if that was required). Once I got to the Dreadful Whale I had, like, 62 (67? I forget) runes. Lovely! :)

After three playthroughs of Dishonored 2, I went back and replayed Dishonored 1 and its DLC for the first time since release. Still incredible. I have even more respect for Dishonored 1 now for how well it stacks up against 2.

The biggest difference I noticed is how difficult the combat is in 1. Enemy attacks are harder to anticipate, parrying and aerial takedowns require much more precise timing, and guarding doesn't automatically block ranged attacks. 2 is way more lenient in those regards but I think that makes the combat more fun.

I really, really love Dishonored 1, so I'm amazed that I think 2 managed to top it in nearly every aspect, especially in level design and art direction.

Yeah, I've also been replaying Dishonored 1 and had the same thoughts about combat. I think I enjoy the base sword fighting mechanics in Dishonored 1 just a bit more, actually. Enemies don't do that weird backstep move that they rely on in 2, they're better at dodging your swings, locked swords happen more often, and guns are much more punishing. The number of powers and upgrades in 2 makes the combat in 1 seem quite a lot more limited, though.

After thinking about it a little more, I might agree with you on Dishonored 1's mechanics. I think my issues arise when it comes to groups of enemies. When I engage in combat I prefer not to use anything besides my sword and Blink. In Dishonored 1 this can make for some really fun and dynamic fights against 2-3 enemies in which I'm frequently jumping and Blinking around while sword fighting, but any more enemies than that and I can quickly become overwhelmed. But Dishonored 2's combat is lenient enough that even against 5+ enemies I feel like I have great odds - though perhaps the fights tend to be less exciting than in 1. I dunno, I guess I would say that I really enjoy both combat systems, but in slightly different ways.

Finished this last night and immedatley started a murder run as Corvo. This game is fantastic.

Edit: Quick Question - If I am working on a stealth run and I kill a guy that spots me, will I not get full stealth? Or can I not be spotted AT ALL?

I still hope they release a Dunwall City Trials style DLC. I know people as a rule don't seem to like challenge map DLC but I found that DLC extremely fun (especially Back Alley Brawl). I feel like they could come up with all sorts of fun challenges with the Dishonored 2 power set.

damn. that's a good idea. Didn't think of that.

The levels of this game are great. So many ways to do things. Also, I heard a witch talking to herself about how pissed she was that a guy who she wants to have sex with is late, and how much she liked having sex with him lol

Are you doing a full ghost run where you don't want to be seen by any guards? If so, then you must not be spotted at all costs. Knock out any guards if you're aiming for a full non-lethal run as well

If you are on console, you can use quick save/quick load when you pause your playthrough.

Yeah, I thought those actually were quite good in the first game. They actually taught and required you to fully understand all the mechanics, while you could just easily fumble your way through the main campaign, which I'm guessing about 90% of the people playing it did.

Just started it. Gosh, this game really looks phenomenal. It's too bad that it isn't the smoothest running game, but it's nothing unplayable for me with everything maxed out.

They're not too long but they're really really good.

Yep. I actually enjoyed Daud's campaign more than the main game.

Thanks! I'm doing a no detection/high chaos run with Corvo. It's so much fun!

Stop Time + Drop Spring Razor in a group of enemies never gets old.

On my second NG+ run I actually ended up using cheat engine to give myself unlimited money and unlimited raw whalebone...that way I could craft all the runes I had and unlock all the blueprints at the start of the game. Felt more like a real "NG+" that way, because otherwise I was still spending way too much time scouring the levels for money and waiting until I could afford upgrades.

My impressions so far after completing the I think third mission where you
take the train to the island with the doctor whos the crown killer
.

So far I have a bit mixed feelings. On one hand the level design is great in the sense that you can go everywhere, on all the roofs etc. On the other hand I feel like there is a problem with interactivity - there's like hundreds of glasses/bottles lying around and all you can do with them is throw them, it's annoying. And I wish there were more actual side-quests so far, but maybe I missed something. So far I feel kind of "disconnected" still as opposed to DE:MD which immediatley sucked me in and felt way more "interactive" to me. The way it currently goes for me is enter area X -> go around a bit and start going for runes/shard bones -> some indirect storytelling along the way -> get to main objective. It doesn't help that it feels like I don't really need any other upgrade/powers than upgraded Blink which I already have.

Also question about that mission
I collected all the objects the heart radar showed me but in the end I still only had 5/10 runes and 6/12 shardstones or something like that, whats up with that?

Everything from when you get off the boat to when you get back on is one level as far as stats. Maybe you missed some in the city.

And what kind of sidequests? There can be some pretty creative ways to your objective, but for the most part sidequests are acquired from overhearing conversations or reading letters. There are a few times someone will stop, talk, and give you a specific objective, but I wouldn't call it a quest system like Deus Ex.

As for the bottles, you can only throw them, but you can still do some creative things with them. They're pretty useful as improvised nonlethal and lethal weapons.

I'm like 95% certain that the DLC
will have Billie as a playable character, with Daud factoring in somehow. Maybe they'll do an Emily/Corvo thing and let you choose between Billie and Daud. Or maybe the DLC will just be about her trying to find Daud (which is what she's doing at the end of Dishonored 2). There's just been way too much setup for this not to be the case.

Regardless, I'm even more certain that Daud will be in the DLC in some manner. Beyond all of the references to him in Dishonored 2, I think the biggest giveaway is that they brought Michael Madsen in to record that single audiograph. Someone asked Harvey on Twitter why Emily/Corvo don't respond to it and he said it was mainly because that was recorded after they had already finished VO for the game (https://twitter.com/Harvey1966/status/807349651783487488).

You don't bring in a name like Michael Madsen to record a single line. The fact that it was done after every other VO indicates to me that they recorded that during DLC pre-production when he was doing the rest of his lines.
