We will be having nametags, but as a participant of RealPic January I'm hoping some of you guys recognize me somewhat :) I really don't mind if people call me by my handle or my real name (Ruben) I'm used to both. I've had my screenname for half my life :)

I will wear my lucky bow tie so you guys can recognize me. Also, will there be galbi in the menu option we choose? Or is that part of the more expensive menu? I <3 galbi!

I like how most of the respnoses are like "you're eating it wrong"...you gotta find out what you like from the "secret" menu, as the default one is jsut the simplistic base menu.

I'm not on either that often since I walk to work (lucky me), so I can't say for sure. I stay off the roads as much as possible when I can, especially afternoons and particularly Friday afternoons.

Yep, museums are still boring, even the Getty! I think I have to see things in the wild, on my own terms, for anything to be interesting. Just handed on a platter makes it too easy.

Is this your first visit to LA? I'm always curious what people think since this isn't a very tourist friendly town. I guess there are the Starline tours.

The problem with LA tourism is that the city is based on it's history in film which is A) only 100 years old and B) the studios where these films are made are an underwhelming sight in comparison to the movies they produce.


Anyway, I have some bad news gaf. I was offered a gig in a music video today. The shoot is from 6-11 tomorrow night in downtown (which is where I live). They're paying me $50 cash. What do? :(

Not my first time in LA, but my first time in LA as a wanderer.

It never seemed like the kind of place to do such a thing, so sprawly and car-centric. I like getting a feel for cities by walking them, but that seems a world away from plausible here.

Some parts are walkable (Silver Lake, Beverly Hills area, etc), but overall you need a car. Even to get between those places you need a car... or the bus.

LA really is a shit hole! It has it's parts, but as a whole it is a hole. San Francisco is a real city.

I live in Santa Barbara.
