Fursan al-Aqsa® Official Launch Trailer + Accolades

Finally, after many years of dedication and hardworking, also many sleepless nights, Fursan al-Aqsa, the full game, is available now!

-----------------------------------------------------------

Resisting the Zionist Occupation is NOT Terrorism!

Here is the original trailer in MP4 Full HD 1080p 60fps format:

Fursan al-Aqsa® is an Action Game which addresses the Israel x Palestine conflict from a Palestinian perspective, breaking the cliché of portraying Arabs as Terrorists. You will play in missions across Palestine with many objectives to accomplish, epic battles, powerful guns, vehicles to drive and more.

release-banner-full.1.png

Available now on Steam (PC version):

And Gamejolt (PS3 and Xbox360 versions):

Obs: The console version of this game is a Homebrew App, which means it only runs on Hacked Consoles (PS3 CFW/HEN, Xbox360 RGH/JTAG). And even though the content is the same (Campaign + Multiplayer), the PS3 and Xbox360 versions of Fursan al-Aqsa are inferior to the PC version, regarding graphics and performance. Also the consoles version, specially the PS3 version of Fursan al-Aqsa suffers from memory overload, which, sometimes causes missing textures and invisible objects (rendering problems), sometimes some textures may become too much blurry, and so on. Also On both consoles, due a problem on accessing the console's hard disk file system to write the save data, I had to make all the missions unlocked by default, but if you play from Mission 1 the game will take you to Mission 2, Mission 3, Mission 4 and so on. So that means I tried my best, and even with these small bugs, you can play the game and enjoy the gameplay experience on PS3 and Xbox360. I'm proud of this achievement, and I'm sure that despite its flaws, Fursan al-Aqsa is the most advanced homebrew game ever developed for the PS3 and XBOX360.

I thank you all for these years following my project, interacting with me, rooting for me, giving me words of support, and specially for playing my game's demo released last year on Steam, and giving me your precious feedback. Thanks to you, players and supporters of Fursan al-Aqsa, I was able to make this game even better than the Demo, fixing many bugs and shortcomings, polishing the game to make this one of the best Indie Games of 2022!

I hope you enjoy the full game, and please, write a small Steam User Review, because this is very important to help my game grow on Steam.

My last words are a request for help and support. As you may know, I am working solo on this game, without any financial help, or funding from a Publisher or anyone. I self funded this project with my incomings from my job of Web Designer. However, due the Covid Pandemics, I lost my work of Web Design, and now I have on this game, Fursan al-Aqsa, a hope for a new source of incoming, for me being able to spend on behalf of my family. So please, buy my game to support me. Each copy sold will help me too much.

About the game size

The download size of this game is just 9.8 GB. After the installation it grows to 18.71GB, because this game has modding support and all game's assets are decrypted. However, if you want to free some disk space, you can free 3GB if you delete these 2 folders and the files inside them:

FursanAqsaGame\UDKGame\Movies\Story
FursanAqsaGame\UDKGame\Soundtrack

The first folder contains the Story Videos in MP4 HD format, for all languages. I included them inside the game folder so players don't need to go to YouTube for watching the game's Story Videos. The second folder contains the game soundtrack in wav format, which I included after many player's requesting this to me.

Obs: Due the modding support, the first time you run the game, it will ask to rebuild the game's scripts. Just click on 'Yes' and after the rebuild finishes, launch the game again.

Fursan al-Aqsa® Easy Mode, Modding Tools and Hebrew Language Support

After the request of many players who complained about the game's difficulty, I decided to add an 'Easy Mode' alongside the Modding Tools and Hebrew language support.

-----------------------------------------------------------

Since many players are not hardcore gamers, and since I want my game to appeal to as many players as possible, I decided to add an Easy Mode, as a custom MOD (instructions below), and take this oportunity to release the Modding Tools for the community, alongside many sample and crazy MODs.

MODS-2.png

The Easy Mode increases the player health to 200 instead of 100, increases to 50HP the healing amount of each healthpack, increases to 100HP the extra health given by the body armor, increases to 25HP the health given for each headshot, increases to 50HP the health given for each knife kill and doubles the health for the player's vehicles on the bosses battles.

Now with the Easy Mode more casual players can enjoy and beat the game. I tested it too much, and even on the Easy Mode, the game still has it's challenging factor, but now without being too much frustrating for not hardcore gamers.

MODS-1.png

We all know the importance MODs have for any game, and how it can be a true game changer and a reason for many games staying alive for several years to come. So thinking on this, I decided to release the tools to allow players to create and share MODs for Fursan al-Aqsa.

Due engine licensing questions, I am afraid I won't be able to share the full game editor for Fursan al-Aqsa, because I am using a custom build of the engine, which I did port to Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 some years ago, without EPIC Games authorization, however, even then, they were very kind with me. Instead of suing me in court, they allowed me to sign a custom engine license which allows me to use my custom build of their engine to develop my games, but they did not allow me to share from this engine, except the game itself with the files needed for it to run. In other words, I can not release the map editor and other engine tools, unfortunatelly.

MODS-3.png

However, thinking on this fact, and also thinking on a way to allow ANYONE to MOD my game, without the need to have advanced technical knowledge of gaming development, 3d animations, programming and the such, I have found a very easy way to allow you to make and share mods of my game. Yes, the modding tools are a bit limited, however, you can do a LOT of crazy and cool things, and you can change thousands of gameplay features, and the only tool you need to use is Notepad++. Yes, you heard it, you can mod Fursan al-Aqsa using just a simple text editor.

To get started with Modding Fursan al-Aqsa, just download the Modding Tools here, and on the zip file you will find a very easy step-by-step tutorial:

And to activate the Easy Mode, download and install this MOD, after you download the Modding Tools and read the instructions on how to install the mods:

And here you can download the sample mods I made:

release-banner-full-HE.png

About the Hebrew language support, since many Israeli players are enjoying my game, I think that this is nothing more than just to allow them experience this game on their language. the game now is fully localized to Hebrew and I even remade the trailers in Hebrew language:

Last, but not least, I would like to ask, if you played my game, please, leave a sincere user review on Steam and also here on metacritic, alongside a score for my game:

Also please, rate my game here on IndieDB, on the community rating panel:

I hope you enjoy this new update and can't wait to see some crazy mods made by the community!

Cheers.

March last year I had to cancel the PS Vita version of ALT BOSNIA. Focusing on PC gave me plenty room to expand the world and do my screenplay justice. So, ever since then I have been working on ALT BOSNIA as an open world game. Compliments the game's story in a very unique way.

Been working on an isometric game with Game Maker Studio 2.

Thing's been quite fun so far. Quite difficult too, but I'm learning new things about vertex buffers, which I use to render the isometric map,
and shaders, which I use to render the playable character behind tiles that are in front of him.

My idea is to make a blend between JRPG (gameplay) and old ass CRPGs (story and progression). This isometric rendering thing I'm working on would be intended for the overworld and dungeon exploration.

Very cool man! I think this isometric view is very interesting, remembers me of old PSX and Sega Saturn games.

Previous threads gave a wide overview of various tools and game engines but I want to try a more focused approach. Nearly all of us know what we want to use, so I think it's more helpful to share useful techniques for using those tools. I haven't released a commercial game, but I've released several game-like 3D applications for serious business purposes (e.g. Roller Coaster Tycoon but it's an assembly line that someone will build in real life). These were in Unity and I can share a few simple techniques that have proven most productive to me.
If someone is looking to learn game development, but is looking to focus on one engine only, would Unity be the better fit, or would it be Game Maker Studio?

I'd like to maybe make a 2D shmup like Radiant Silvergun / Ikaruga... Or a 3D FPS like Half Life / Doom.
I guess on a long enough timeline, I wouldn't mind becoming a publisher - where I get together with a few indie devs, and help fund their releases.

Almost like a indie record label of sorts.

Well, $100 is less scary than I thought it might be. Although $100 per game + 30% commission makes me think that tons of games won't even break even. Although I'm assuming that's the result they were going for.
Does that mean that it might be better to work on your own game store portal - like a variation of Itch.io? It would certainly help if one were to morph into a publisher. Better branding for starters.
Im working on Rawal Rumble, this indie beat'em up set in a cyberpunk Neo-Barcelona. The team it's me working almost full time on it, a friend who from time to time help with environment art, a programmer who programmed the prototype and the musician.

We make it with Game Maker Studio and Photoshop, and are also working on a phisical arcade version, a premium custom arcade stick for the modern recent console generations and a retro arcade stick for 8 and 16 bits computers (partnering with a brand who was popular in Spain back then making arcade sticks for computers).

We post updates using the Twitter hashtag #RawalRumble from our account @Anarkade

That looks really good... It's always good to see GMS for productions like this.

Also makes me think that maybe I should just focus on GMS (as opposed to Unity) when looking to learn games development.

I know GMS can handle games like Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga.

But I also know that Unity is a better fit for games like Half Life and Doom.

Not sure as to which engine is worth learning...

Thanks!

I'd suggest you Unreal Engine. It will be free, plus also many free graphical assets has a ton of things already implemented by them or other people, top tier console performance and now with blueprints, has the biggest community of devs supporting it, it's easier to use it to get cheaper console versions, it's easier to use or learn with youtube tutorials. Even if to master it requires more time.

GMS is ok to make very small games for a game jam, to make some prototypes or something like that. But if you later want to get serious and professional I'd go with Unreal independently if you make a 2D game or a 3D game.

Can confirm. It's lang is also very similar to vanilla Javascript, so Q qwertz12345 , if you have any experience with that you'll feel at home.

Fursan al-Aqsa is on Steam Summer Sales

steam_summer_sales_faqsa_EN.png

Buy the most BASED game of all times, which flipped Western Media and exposed the hypocrisy within the gaming Industry.

See what (based and redpilled) people are saying about Fursan al-Aqsa on metacritic:

Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque® is a Third Person Action Game on which you play as Ahmad al-Falastini, a young Palestinian Student who was unjustly tortured and jailed by Israeli Soldiers for 5 years, had all his family killed by an Israeli Airstrike and now, after getting out from the prison, seeks revenge against those who wronged him, killed his family and stolen his homeland, by joining a new Palestinian Resistance Movement called Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque®.

This game is greatly inspired by Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Insurgency Sandstorm, Max Payne and Goldeneye 007.

Fursan al-Aqsa: The Knights of the Al-Aqsa Mosque® is a game which addresses the Israel x Palestine conflict from a Palestinian perspective, breaking the cliché of portraying Muslim and Arabs as Terrorists, Bandits, Villains and the Americans/Israelis as the "Good Guys" and "Heroes" of History. This is the first game in the games industry which addresses such a sensitive topic, in a realistic way, showing the other side of history, which is very unknown by people, mostly here on west.

So buy Fursan al-Aqsa to join the BASED gamers department!

Steam Summer Sales begins on June 23.

Been working on adding continous movement to the character. This has brought some problems, like the camera jittering (which for some reason is even more noticeable on the video than the game itself, maybe because of the framerate of the video?)
and the need to rewrite some scripting I had made to hide the character behind walls, which should be working perfectly now.

Also, some optimizations and... more graphix!

I'll keep working on improving the camera, the graphics for the tiles (not very happy with the current walls) and, after that, I'll start adding shit like trees, chests, houses, caves, cities, etc...
Once the environment is complete, I'll work on the enemies and the UI, and also a day/night cicle... but that's still far away.

Hey gaffers, you don't like making your own games?? Get into developing games today and be change you wanna see in the industry!! :lollipop_raising_hand: it's kinda lonely here u know

Okay so between work, real life and playing video games, I've still managed to pull out some time for my little hobby project and wanted to share this little video.

Doesn't look like much has changed... but I have managed to fix the camera jittering, tweaked the graphics for the isometric tiles a bit, added some decorations to the overworld
and started messing around with a day/night cycle (the video is at dawn, that's why it's kinda orange before turning into full night) and some weather effects, which I'm still trying to polish.

The thing is, I'm not fully convinced about having the nights being almost pitch black. I'd like to make it so the player has to manage his oil reserves between travels so he can light up his way during nights, but still not 100% sure about it.

I'm also making a game of my own(It's inspired after Majora's Mask) alongside a friend, but we are still wayyy too early on devs, and considering we take breaks here and there because of real life, I'm still not confortable showing any of it.

But your game looks like is going along nicely. Keep it up!

Happy that you like it!

I'm a solo indie developer DBA neko.works. I work with a few freelances occasionally for some assets, but usually do most of the work myself.

Sure I will! You game looks like what I'd like to work on, actually I'm slowly trying to make my own stuff using anime style (but with more realistic proportions like Xenoblade, let's see how it goes). Basically the existence of your game is a reminder and inspiration to myself :D

Fursan al-Aqsa Remake and Mobile - First Look Trailer

In this article I showcase the first look at Fursan al-Aqsa Remake, the updated version of my game (developed now in Unreal Engine 4) and Fursan al-Aqsa Mobile, the portable version of this remake to allow those players who can't afford a gaming PC to enjoy the experience of playing the MOST BASED GAME of all times.

It has been more than two months which I do not post a new devlog article here, but for those who are following me, you already know I have been very busy, working like crazy on Fursan al-Aqsa Remake. So these last months I dedicated myself to study Unreal Engine 4, and thanks to all the updated tools of the engine, I was able to get the basic game framework and gameplay systems working perfectly and I created these two new trailers to showcase the progress on Fursan al-Aqsa Remake Development.

Fursan_al-Aqsa_Remake_-_Showcase_Camp_Ariel_Sharon_17.png

As stated before, I am making two versions of the game, one for PC and other for Android (Fursan al-Aqsa Mobile). The portable version of this remake is to allow those players who can't afford a gaming PC to enjoy the experience of playing the MOST BASED GAME of all times. The game will be the same on two versions, but, just like the differences between the PC and PS3/Xbox360 versions of Fursan al-Aqsa "Classic", the Mobile is inferior in terms of quality, with low resolution textures and less visual effects, for the sake of allowing even old smartphones to run the game (think like a compressed version of the game to fit inside a mobile device). After feedback of many of my followers, I realized that the majority of middle-eastern gamers play on Mobile, so Fursan al-Aqsa Mobile is for those players. I mean, if you have an average gaming PC which can run most recent 3D games, there is no need to play the mobile version, since on PC you will have the best experience.

I plan to add more gameplay mechanics, to make the game more dynamic and fun to play. Now our hero learned parkour (as you can see on the trailer), I increased the jump height, and I totally removed the fall damage, so that means our hero will not be harmed even if he falls from a Skyscraper! I know it is not realistic, but this is fun. I am going to add other movements like vault jumping, roll, dodge, slide and wall running. I will still remake and improve the bullet time effect in Unreal Engine 4 among other things. I am looking to make some cool acrobatic action movements, very similar to My Friend Pedro. I want to make some INSANE action moments for Fursan al-Aqsa Remake, in sha Allah.

Fursan_al-Aqsa_Remake_-_Showcase_Camp_Ariel_Sharon_15.png

About the graphics, yeah, I have done a revamp on the graphics but even then, they are not my focus. My focus is performance, and I want to allow even average gaming PC's to run Fursan al-Aqsa Remake. I mean, the requirements will be the same as the "Classic" Version, except that the GPU needs to support Shader Model 5 (any video card which support DirectX 11 can run Unreal Engine 4 games). So this is the final graphics quality, but as for the animations, I will improve these animations, add some more character animations, and more weapons for the final version of Fursan al-Aqsa Remake.

The game on my new Laptop (Acer Nitro 5 with 8GB RAM and a GTX1650 4GB, Core i5), which I was able to buy thanks to Allah (God) and to you, players who bought my game on Steam, the game runs at 70-90 fps, smoothly without any noticeable frames drop down. A friend of mine who has an RTX GPU, the game run at 180-200 fps, so I think it is very well optimized. Because this I am not focusing in too much graphics details, or 4K textures, I prefer to focus on performance, specially for an action game, an intense shooter, like Fursan al-Aqsa.

Just something that I need to tell you, is that a group of Pro-Israel lawyers is trying to take down Fursan al-Aqsa
https://freebeacon.com/latest-news/...-video-game-that-lets-you-slaughter-israelis/

Fursan_al-Aqsa_Remake_-_Showcase_Camp_Ariel_Sharon_14.png

For all of those who played my game, you know that this game does NOT promote hate against Jews or the "Killing of Jews and Israelis". You all know that the point here is that Fursan al-Aqsa is the FIRST and until now the ONLY game who simply FLIPPED western media in the sense of how we, arabs and muslims are portrayed on videogames and movies.

Fursan_al-Aqsa_Remake_-_Showcase_Camp_Ariel_Sharon_7.png

By the way, my game has NO element of the jewish religion, there is no indication that the enemy soldiers in this game are jewish (by the way, I know many IDF Soldiers who are atheist), so this accusation that my game promotes violence against jews, or that this game is anti-Semitism propaganda, are nothing but FAKE NEWS.

Fursan_al-Aqsa_Remake_-_Showcase_Camp_Ariel_Sharon_18.png

So what is the problem on having Israeli Soldiers as the enemies on a videogame? Why they should always be the "Good guys"? Why Russian Soldiers can be killed on games? Why Arab Soldiers can be killed on games? Why Afghani Soldiers can be the "terrorists" in games? But why USA Soldiers and Israeli Soldiers must always be the heroes?

Fursan_al-Aqsa_Remake_-_Showcase_Camp_Ariel_Sharon_1.png

Besides everything, you know that my games has a satirical tone, just like Mortal Kombat Fatalities. How can a Megalodon Shark be called by someone to come and eat a soldier in real life? How can someone double jump and fly in slow motion in real life? How can someone jump out from an airplane holding a RPG bazooka to shoot at an helicopter in real life?

I have great hopes that Steam will keep preserving my rights for Freedom of Speech and allow my game there, since it is making a commercial success on their platform, and the players reviews are very positive, and most important is that my games does NOT break any Steam Guidelines and neither any law of any country.

This Remake will be free for those who own Fursan al-Aqsa on Steam, so BUY NOW and get the Remake as a free update once it comes out, in sha Allah. Even in the worst scenario, supposing my game gets banned from Steam, you will still get the Remake, even if that means I will manually send the game's files to each one who bought my game on Steam.

Support Fursan al-Aqsa!

I'm no longer using Unity and C# for ALT BOSNIA. Lately I've been working on my own C++ and DirectX 11 engine called ZIMA ENGINE.
It includes ZIMA EDITOR for scene, animation, particles etc. editing. Also in the process of porting ALT BOSNIA C# code to C++.

The time is finally here! Manafinder has been released on Steam with a launch discount! I'm incredibly happy with the result.

Congratulations my friend! Your game looks and feels like the old Phantasy Star Games from the Sega Genesis era! Did you make all the arts? This is simply OUTSTANDING!!!

Fursan al-Aqsa Classic: Definitive Edition Update

Watch the trailer for Fursan al-Aqsa Classic Update: Definitive Edition. This update fixes many of the original game's shortcomings and flaws by adding some more modern gameplay features like escape time for security cameras, checkpoints, mission objectives indicators, radar and minimap to make the game more enjoayable for a modern audience, and not only hardcore old school players. In addition players now can choose among different playable characters.

The most BASED game of all times now is adapted for a modern audience of gamers with new features like on-screen indicators, detection delay for security cameras, increased player HP, checkpoints, and more.

Screenshot_-_30_09_2022_19_14_00.png

After the release of my game on Steam, I was able to build a very nice and friendly relationship with Fursan al-Aqsa players, and by talking with them, listening to their feedbacks and suggestions, I realized that not all gamers enjoy hardcore shooters like me, rather, the majority of gamers of today are already habituated with more modern gameplay features which we, old gamers from the 90's, never experienced on our time as gamers (I am still a gamer today but I don't have too much free time to play games). And indeed, some of these "modern" features today are standard on the majority of games.

Screenshot_-_30_09_2022_19_08_36.png

But before making these changes on my game Fursan al-Aqsa, I decided to play some recent games and shooters, like Ion Fury and others, and I realized that indeed, making things easier for the player is much better than trying to punish him. One example, I myself was able to enjoy Ion Fury just because the game allows the player to save the game at any time and continue from this last save. This is perfect for me because I hardly have much free time to play, and whenever I find a break to play games, I do not want to stay in example, playing 2 hours the same mission / level, because it is very hard to beat. I think it is much better have 1 hour of fun playing a game than having 5 hours of frustration playing this same game.

Screenshot_-_03_10_2022_16_54_55.png

With that in mind I decided to make some changes (which you can see on the trailer above) on the actual version of my game which is on Steam (this is besides Fursan al-Aqsa Remake, which will be a new game given as a free update for those who own Fursan al-Aqsa on Steam), also because many players bought the game, played Mission 2, didn't get past Mission 2 (they got frustrated with the security cameras), then they give up the game and refund it, not enjoying the game at all.

I decided to call this last update as Fursan al-Aqsa Classic: Definitive Edition because I will not touch on this version anymore, now my focus will be on Fursan al-Aqsa Remake, however, Fursan al-Aqsa Classic will be available to play even after the release of Fursan al-Aqsa Remake (I will update the game launcher to allow players to choose which version to launch).

I hope that now with this last update this game will be enjoyable by a more modern audience, specially this new generation of gamers more habituated to games like Call of Duty and other modern franchises.

Assalamu Alaykum (may the peace be with you).

IMPORTANT: MINI MAP DOES NOT WORK IF YOU ENABLE MULTI SAMPLE ANTI ALIASING ON THE GAME'S OPTIONS MENU. This is a bug on UDK Engine itself, but you can set anti aliasing settings directly on Nvidia Control Panel instead of using this option in-game.

Well, here I come with some AI work I've been learning to do this year... basically learning a lot of how to work with FSM, then making my FSM hierarchical, then going for Behaviour Trees and leaving the FSM for other purposes etc... Been studying a lot this subject and I think I've already understood it... AI in games is tricky af... Here's the result:

The player model is mine but done for a client ages ago... I'm just using it for tests, some enemies bugged a little lol but I'll see that later

Neophyte
Hi members, both new and old. ;)

We've set this imaginatively titled thread up as a friendly, welcoming space for people to just say "Hi" and maybe share a few words about themselves. This was my introduction from the thread we created for staff members, it doesn't need to be anything of that size though, anything would be great.

Maybe tell us what sort of games you like, what games your looking forward to, what non-gaming things you're interested in and maybe even a little bit about your choice of avatar.

REMINDER: THE DEFAULT AVATARS WILL BE REMOVED SHORTLY SO YOU'LL NEED TO UPLOAD ONE VIA YOUR ACCOUNT AT THE VERY TOP OF THE PAGE OR REQUEST A CUSTOM AVATAR HERE - Official NeoGAF Avatar Request Thread (work in progress)
We actually have several hundred brand new members that have just been joined up (Neophytes), I've added a few links below so that newer members can find their way to threads that may be of use to them.

------------------------------
BASIC MEMBERSHIP TYPES

There are three main types of membership on NeoGAF which I'll give a brief overview on below. You may also see other types of members in the community but these are the "standard" membership types.

Neophytes - The absolute newest of members.
  • Unable to create new threads. (Neophytes can now request to have a thread created on their behalf, follow this link for details.)
  • Unable to send messages using the NeoGAF messaging service. Able to receive messages though.
  • Unable to edit own posts after five minutes.
  • All posts are unpublished until a member of staff validates and publishes the posts.
  • Unable to enter NeoGAF Giveaways.

Neo Members - Have been seen to contribute positively to the forum.
  • Unable to create new threads.

Members - Have demonstrated a sustained positive contribution to the forum.
  • No member restrictions.

Although number of posts are also a factor in people moving from one type of membership to another, the reason we're not listing specifics is because it isn't solely based on that so somebody who has contributed positively could well be moved earlier than somebody with twice as many posts. Don't spam posts and expect to be moved earlier because it's very easy for the move to be delayed if we see that you're having a negative effect of the community.

Although being a full Member is permanent, in the general sense, it is possible for people to have rights removed if its deemed fit by the team. This would be unusual but it certainly isn't unheard of.

As some may already have noticed, we now have a Giveaways Tab at the top of the page, we're currently hosting our first giveaway and it's very much a work in progress but each individual giveaway can be set with a required minimum membership level rather than there being an overall requirement, so it's always worth checking there. Neophytes will not normally be able to enter though but as this one is a bit of test run for us, it is actually possible.

If you are a Neophyte and are wanting to contact staff for something and it isn't appropriate to use the Report Function (Reporting inappropriate posts) or the Error Reporting & Feedbackthread then you are able to do this using the Contact Us tab at the very bottom of the page or by using this email address - support@neogaf.com

Although you may find that you have more or less privileges than other members with different membership types, it doesn't mean that one type of member has authority over other members, it's not a rank and should never be treated as such.

------------------------------

Welcome to all members and thank you all for your contributions here, there's been a lot of support from the community here recently and we all hope that the you will lead by example for the new people rather than just relying on us to tell people what to do.

Yes, getting a good AI is very hard, but yours is looking good, the enemies are following the player very well. But would be better using something like an AI Kit from the Assets Store? I am using a complete AI framework for my game in Unreal Engine 4, as you can see on the post below. Cheers!

Fursan al-Aqsa Remake Devlog: Combat Overview and Artificial Intelligence

Check out this new trailer for Fursan al-Aqsa Remake, showcasing the updated enemies AI and the first combat overview.

Buy Fursan al-Aqsa Classic now on Steam and receive the Remake as a free update:

Screenshot_-_27_10_2022_23_16_35.png

Now my friends, I need to be sincere with you. Please, buy my game on Steam to support me, otherwise I will need to give a break on this project, because, unfortunately, bills don't stop to come all months.

Screenshot_-_27_10_2022_23_15_48.png

If the sales remain low, I will have to give priority to my job. I would love to dedicate more time to this project, to be able to finish as fast as it is possible, however, in reality it is not that easy. I tried to make a living from game development, but it is VERY hard. Fursan al-Aqsa has 7250 wishlists on Steam, and, if only the half of these whishlists converted to sales, I would be able to dedicate my full time on Fursan al-Aqsa Remake. Anyway, I will try my best to finish Fursan al-Aqsa Remake Demo.

Screenshot_-_27_10_2022_23_15_00.png

The biggest problem with my game is indeed the political message, which makes many, too many gaming websites simply refuse to cover my game. I sent thousands of messages and emails for sites like IGN, Gamespot, Kotaku, Game Informer, PC Gamer and many others, but they never answered me or talked about my game. For an indie game, it is extremely hard to get noticed without media coverage. And many of these websites fear displeasing Israel and Zionist Groups, like IGN:

https://kotaku.com/ign-takes-down-article-and-tweet-sharing-palestinian-ai-1846905689

So, without proper media coverage, any game will stay on the limbo, getting known by only some few people. Even then, I am happy that the purpose of Fursan al-Aqsa was achieved, praise be to Allah, that this game went against the stream, this game exposed the hypocrisy within media, the double standards for the so called "freedom of speech", which exists on both movies and games (and in general media work). I know Fursan al-Aqsa already entered on the video games history, even though it did not receive the deserved recognition.

May Allah bless you!

Sincerely,

I’ve been programming since I was a kid and would love to make a game. But I can never think of any ideas that would be worth seeing through. As in, they would actually make some money if I put all the required time in.

In this case, I think it would be better to join a team of game developers, and I have seen a lot of job positions on linkedin for all areas of game development and you can work remotely. You should try it. I am not very good with programming, but I have a general game development knowledge on all areas, but not specialist on any specific area. Like you give me some assets and I build an entire game out of it.

Why not do some smaller projects that you are passionate about, which will help you learn a lot, instead of caring about making money even before starting?

Don’t focus on the money, focus on having fun making your own game. I’ve been making games since the 80s, all are crap and only one got an actual ending, one has been in development on and off for nearly 20 years, still loving fiddling with them.
Currently working on a simple platformer made in Unity with the platformer template, drawing everything by hand on the iPad, kids come up with enemy designs. The Unity community is very helpful when you need C# help and there are assets for almost everything if you don’t want to make everything by yourself. Check HumbleBundle for nice collections of useful dev content.
