Twitch Plays Pokemon: Dig, Dig for Victory!

Remember when it was about emergent stories that people crafted from the chaos? That's a thing of the past with Democracy. Under democracy, there never would have even been an ABBBBBBBK( to accidentally release, let alone the PC debacle itself. Far more efficient, but it never would have grown to this size in the first place to allow for so many people to be impatient and demand "progress".

I think the memes went insane as well. Actively going to the pc to deposit your second best Pokemon is just stupid IMO. I wanted a Pokemon playthrough, I got it, and then it suddenly revolved around the memes instead of the memes being a fun addition. The added system just adds to the chaos, democracy or not.

The thing is that the accomplishments were so much more rewarding because of how difficult they were to achieve. Without the extreme lows (12 hours at the ledge) you don't get the extreme highs (getting past it and to the next pokemon center).

Its totally diminishing past successes. It took them 12 hours on the ledge, which now would take them 20 minutes, if at all.

Bleh.

This voting thing is just annoying. I'm done with the stream.

The only redeeming option would be if there was only 1 vote for democracy allowed per day and once the chat manages to change to democracy, its only active for a single hour. That way you'd still have 23 hours of actually interesting play.

The chats really boring now. 99% of it is just anarchy and democracy stuff. And I'm on a public computer so I cant use any scripts to get rid of it.

maze wasn't getting done. too much precision required.

Thank the government, narchies.

Of course they would have overcome it eventually. Might have taken a few months, but eventually they'd been through.

I'd even go as far as too say that this might be annoying enough for a movement to emerge and jump ship to another "pure" stream.

Should I be glad that the key was grabbed using democracy? Because I'm not really. It should have been done with anarchy, even if it took 3 more weeks.

Can't wait until the NSA starts asking questions about why they're seeing so many people all chanting ANARCHY DEMOCRACY in Twitch's chat logs.

And before that it was just button inputs. Really not very different. You need the scripts to catch anything.

(edit) Argh why Dig pokemon at top of the list? This is danger danger danger!

To be fair, now we *have* the key, it may not be a bad idea to get out, heal up, and visit the PC (ulp) to populate those last two slots. A full team would give an edge on Giovanni.

When I saw the topic title for the first time a few days ago, I thought that someone is just playing Pokemon on Twitch. Today I started wondering why the hell is this topic still on the first page... And then I noticed it had 14k (wtf...) replies, so I finally clicked. This must be the craziest thing I have ever seen.

yeah you can. just copy the script. go to the url bar, type "javascript: " with a space after the colon, paste the script and hit enter.

how is this any different than being full of redundant buttons?

At least there is another level of meta and strats. While people are pushing their preferred government, they aren't pressing relevant buttons so those that are are that much more powerful.

Democracy/anarchy is at its most powerful right before it's voted out.

The ledge was a single corridor. The puzzle was around 10 of those, each wrong decision taking you back to the beginning.

And? Whats the issue with this taking weeks and the whole playthrough taking 1-2 years instead of 1 month? That was why this stream felt so rewarding before. Democracy just means going through the motions and is ALWAYS an almost instant win, no reward in that.

The original concept: 3 thousand monkeys at typewriters creating Shakespeare.

The democratic system: 90 thousand monkeys voting on whether they like bananas or not.

Yeah you can get more agreement, but you'll never have that monkey that finishes Romeo and Juliet... you'll just have a lot of banana peels.

Democracy ruins the purity, the feeling of accomplishment. The Lift Key was supposed to be a grand payoff!

And since 75% of people are just voting for their system, no progress will be made.

Just woke up. Can someone give me the rundown on this new Anarchy/Democracy thing and how it came into place. Also, how did we escape the maze?

They should take the democracy/anarchy commands out of the side bar and put the voting on a timer so we can focus on moving.

Now that people are fighting over this instead of trying to progress during anarchy, the stream is done for.

Now this is just becoming a political throwdown. At least the committed people have a chance to steer the game now. It's like we're back at 15K active players.

You'd think the constant struggle between anarchy and democracy would just eat up button inputs and make the current anarchy more palatable. But nope!

they sure are doing a whole lot of nothing during anarchy time.

Some people believe we're supposed to win this, even thought that wasn't the point at all. It was so see how far we could get with all the ongoing chaos and troubles.

If the game can't be won under the current setting, then that should be it. This democracy just makes everything hollow. Of course 80k people know how to play Pokemon. We've known that for over 15 years.

Blame the democrats.

This is stupid because not only is the democracy system pointless but it makes the anarchy system seem stupid too. Why wander around aimlessly when you have the option to be more controlled? All of a sudden watching red run around isn't as fun anymore because the option of avoiding it is there. Yeah I'm done too.

Yep, I cant get over how stupid this all is now.

I really hope the streamer abolishes the system again and we forget about it quickly.
