Competition fosters not only creativity, but better prices for gamers. Perhaps it's boggling to the fanboy mind... but for the rest of us, we've had enough Ma Bell and Madden, thanks.

Thanks for labeling me a fanboy for whatever reason.

Competition is happening whether the race between consoles is 1 million or 50 million. PS4 sold 20 million because of the exact competition that poster is talking about. Same for XB1 sales. How is wanting one to not dominate too much going to change anything?

They'd be rolling out the updates anyway and them being behind as much as they are hasn't lead to a change in their ID@Xbox policy.

Do you believe that because Sony lost this month they're gonna start giving budgets out for more creative games or are those games already in development meaning that Xbox winning a couple months doesn't affect what they're doing, creative-wise?

Gamers make it so there's better prices for gamers. That's the free market. The market has dictated that people prefer the PS4 to XBO so XBO has to do things to improve it's value in the eyes of the consumer, price cuts being one of them. The market forced Xbox to cut its price, a couple lost months in the US will not affect Sony's plans of when to cut the price of the PS4.

People expect way too much from North America sales parity.

Edit: And it's a difference of only 13k? People think this is gonna change things?

Yes exactly.

I don't know what people expect to happen from sales parity.

I don't know. But I'd believe 33k before I'd believe 33.

I wouldn't. Even as a high end PC gamer, I wouldn't touch the Shield.

In fact, I don't know a single person who has bought one. Not even on Gaf...I suppose someone could raise their hand here and I would know a person that bought one. lol

If I'm going to play PC games, it's either going to be in the study on my secondary rig or in my room with my main rig on the HDTV.

I... don't think that's right. I'm honestly assuming he just forgot the k. I mean, I know Ouya is a joke, but why would the SHIELD sell only 33 units?
Why would the sheild sell 33k though. That's approaching Wii U numbers isn't it? The thing costs £239 here, I don't see it selling 33K but I could be wrong.

Because it's better for you when it's a close race and both are striving for every little bit to get an edge. If you have no horse in the race, having things close is better for you when it comes to value.

Companies that have no real competition get complacent and boring. That shit sucks.

My guess is there are three main factors to XB1 selling more this month:

1. continued legs on Ori and the Blind Forest (system seller if you ask me lol, but I just love that game)

2. Neverwinter (people underestimate console hunger for MMOs)

3. Battlefield Hardline (because Xbox and shooters is like peanut butter and jelly)

I take you never took an economics or a business course.

It wasn't the most active thread ever, but we've had a couple of moderately active Shield threads. I agree that 33K might be pushing it by a great deal, but 33!? I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm just saying that I'd be amazed if it was selling ONE unit nationwide per day.

How did MLB have better legs than Bloodborne?

I am a fan of From but we need to step back from our gamer enthusiasts and understand that Bloodborne, as great as we know it is, IS NOT a mass market game. Thank God, by the way. Call Of Duty and AssassinsnCreed are stale, but the general population are idiots. Lol

Mario Party 10 is doing well, all things considered.
Meanwhile, the sent S.T.E.A.M. to die with no amiibo bundled and no availability.

Congrats to MS on a big month and congrats to Sony SD on the Show hitting top 5. MS and Sony battling it out for sales this gen will only have one winner: video games.

You lost me. Were you expecting Shield sales to be higher or lower?
