Ahhh, there's the problem then. PS3 owners are just far too discriminating!

Well obviously, they're true "hardcore" gamers who only buy good games. Wii owners are "non-gamers" who buy whatever they're offered.

It is a mystery but I have a feeling they aren't good. :/

Where are those 5 titles that we were supposed to get?

and if you've been following sales long enough you would know that sales in the launch period usually mean squat cause people are usuallly less discriminate about their purchases, publishers know that too which is why they try to push new IPs near the beginning of a generation
Well shit, if that's the case, the PS3 is in even more serious trouble than we thought.

Sonic is incorrect. Only 1UP seems to reflect that number.

For those who were interested in "per capita" sales comparisons:

Wii US HW LTD: 1,851,200 (according to collected NPD data)
PS3 US HW LTD: 1,058,700 (ditto)

So, as an example, we'll use the possibly-incorrect Sonic numbers with the follow percentile calculation:

x = SW sales / HW sales * 100

Sonic sale percentage = 63,000 / 1,851,200 * 100 = 3.4% of Wii owners bought Sonic

I'm having trouble correlating the LTD info for some of the other games, so I leave the rest to you folks.

Rayman Wii's legs are pretty nuts...

It was my sister's favorite Wii game, by far, so I guess it has major casual appeal, but I am still shocked that it's hanging around like that. It's surpassed Red Steel's LTD.

Actually, if 1up was wrong and the 80k figure for Sonic was right, then it sold to 4.3% of Wii owners.

They were wrong and I think the story was updated the next day to reflect the real figure- 83k

Thanks for the correction... if anyone can provide some PS3 and Wii software LTD numbers, THEN we have a method of a more adequate and equal comparison.

EDIT: Oh, and some 360 HW and SW LTDs would be nice, as well.

For first day sales, those aren't so bad for SSX Blur. I know I got mine a week later. Rayman and Red Steel just keep chugging...

And we don't talk about EBA's sales. In a perfect world, every single person would have bought a copy. 6.5 billion copies of EBA sold.

Sonic sold 83k? Wow, good numbers considering VF5 sold 53k. Hopefully it'll have some legs as the Wii userbase increases.

According to a certain banned site, Madden 07 for Wii has got some pretty good legs. I'm actually glad for EA. Good sales is what happens when you spend quality time making a game on a Nintendo system.

does anyone know how many months since its release that halo2 has been the #1 selling xbox game?

I'll give you a hint. It's only had a month as the best-selling game for the XBX in two separate years. It's been out for parts of four separate years.

In other words, the Halo 3 beta requirement of playing Halo 2 sparked sales.
