Twitch Plays Pokemon: Dig, Dig for Victory!

I was fine with democracy as a temporary way to deal with an obstacle that required more precision than that chat could manage, proven by the excessive amount of time spent on it compared to anything else. I'm not fond of this switching system though :(

I am curious of the democracy system could get us through the safari zone with the step counter intact though . It'd take careful planning to spam the right step combos but we could do it and that'd feel more in the spirit of things than just taking the counter off.

The streamer just shot himself in the foot. I don’t know how much the rest of you know about Twitch Plays Pokemon culture (I’m an expert), but the chaos is huge parts of it. It’s not like it is in other streamings where you can become successful by having a democracy system. If you implement a voting system, you bring shame to yourself, and the only way to get rid of that shame is repentance. What this means is the chat, after seeing this, is not going to want to use neither democracy or anarchy. This is HUGE. You can laugh all you want, but the streamer has alienated an entire chat with this move. The streamer, publicly apologize and reset the game or you can kiss your business goodbye.

The sad thing is that with this new influx of secularism there is little room for the deities of old.

The seperation of church and state almost? I was thinking a similar thing. They have abandoned their gods and now worship governance. It's not quite the same of course but i find it interesting how thoughts change.

Edit: Panda delivers, good work mate.

thanks for the laugh
"Let 75 thousand people leave" is not a valid solution.

the fun was in watching insanity overcome impossibility, or seeing how long people could endure before surrendering hope - that hope (the amount of people still participating) directly correlated to failure. it was absurd and fascinating. how long was it going to take to get through the maze, days? weeks? months? that is what made it so unique.

now there's a way to game genie their way through the points of most resistance, it's lost what made it so compelling.

the coordination was the compelling part of it all, and the mistakes and failures of the stream leading to memes and storylines gave it cultural appeal.

The stream is five days old so I doubt the gripping part of it for the majority of people was "woah, how long will this take!"

Only the time it took allowed that meta narrative to form. Now that's forgotten and in its place is the endless system struggle

The fact is you know democracy can and will beat the game. There are no surprises there. You are basically watching a glorified lets play at that point. Sorry but that's fucking bullshit.

The creator of this thing is a clown for ruining such a good idea.

If you are in the anarchist camp then understand that telling everyone else how to vote is going directly against the ideology that you think you are trying to represent. If an individual wants to vote for democracy, then that's his/her business, not yours.

Time for the Helix and Dome tribes to unite under the Moonstone banner, snatch up the start9's, and drive democracy from our fair lands!

Ugh the Start9 thing is more annoying than the Democracy itself.

This whole demo thing should just be an emergency plan.

Whatever, hopefully it goes away now, people are being fickle.

Anarchists really are the biggest crybabies ever, lol. They shit in the sandbox because they didn't get to have the shovel.

hahaha truth.
