Having weapons experts on-hand doesn't preclude major errors from making it into a film. Andy Stumpf on Joe Rogan recently pointed out that the bolt is locked back with an empty mag on this gun right before the big border firefight in Sicario:
Well of course, those are usually continuity errors and cuts/editing. And they bother me in movies all the time, especially seeing semi-automatic Glocks without the slide back pulling the trigger multiple times and hearing the clicks like it's a double action.
But it's no coincidence that the media is trying to force down people's throats that AR-15s are assault rifles when they're not by definition, and there's a huge difference between an M4 and AR-15 in the military/ownership world.
It stuck out big-time to me because I never heard movies to my recollection mention fully automatics is AR-15s until that moment. The movie is called Civil War, if there was ever another civil war here, what's the most popular weapon that would be in civilian hands?
Maybe due my real-world experience, it just felt out of place and stuck out like a sore thumb like predictive programming, lol.
