oh yes pc gaming. 3080 is not enough for re4 remake.
crashed 2 minutes into the demo.
Of course fully maxed out at 4k.. Fps around 50.
Looks fantastic. Cleaner than ps5
3 times in a row now. I cannot make it to the first home lol pc experience here I go!!! 3080 bitch !
Edit: FSR 2.0 balanced and it still crashes before entering the house. Seriously

It has one in camera settingsFOV slider and this is perfect. I'm not even an FOV snob, but this is too tight. GOTY contender for me for sure. Demo is fantastic.
No issues on my 3080. I've got every setting cranked. I'm at 3440 by 1440 though. The 3080s VRAM is the culprit. Cold hard facts here, but you cucked yourself with that card attempting to play modern AAA games at 4k.

this happened to me when I cranked up the textures to where my Vram wasn't enough.
as soon as you open the door it crashes if your vram is in the red.
set textures to high 2GB and RT to normal

Mind, you my 3080 is the lowly 10gb.No issues on my 3080. I've got every setting cranked. I'm at 3440 by 1440 though.
Found it. Maxed it out and did the trick perfect. The game is gonna be the best RE.It has one in camera settings
I was thinking this earlier. It's almost funny how sensitive some gamers are to such minor inconveniences. Back in the day when games were more primitive we had to put up with gameplay inconveniences all that time, but we still loved the shit out of what we played. It's like people have gotten softer and can't cope when a game isn't perfectly tailored to their needs.
Where are people getting all these issues from? I tried it yesterday and never got a crash nor a single issue, nor stuttering, nor nothing, just ran normal, like... you know... a game should?oh yes pc gaming. 3080 is not enough for re4 remake.

Is it? I am playing maxed with settings pointing "red" Vram usage. No crashes, no stuttering. The 3080s VRAM is the culprit. Cold hard facts here, but you cucked yourself with that card attempting to play modern AAA games at 4k.

but you have a 12gb 3080. bit more toleranceIs it? I am playing maxed with settings pointing "red" Vram usage. No crashes, no stuttering.
Game is showing 12.16/11.07. Should crash or stutter if Vram was a problem.but you have a 12gb 3080. bit more tolerance
So you are not maxed and it's apples to orangesGame is showing 12.16/11.07. Should crash or stutter if Vram was a problem.
Right now I am on monitor. It was the same on the 4k TV. No crash, no stutter. It's the same with RE2R and RE3R. This Vram usage is pure BS.So you are not maxed and it's apples to oranges
Maxed at 4k uses 14.44gb of vram.
it's completely out of ass (the vram calculator in game).Right now I am on monitor. It was the same on the 4k TV. No crash, no stutter. It's the same with RE2R and RE3R. This Vram usage is pure BS.
Just because you don’t have the issue, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.Where are people getting all these issues from? I tried it yesterday and never got a crash nor a single issue, nor stuttering, nor nothing, just ran normal, like... you know... a game should?
I'm yet to re-enter the RE franchise so I'll try the full game once I'm done with the first 3 lol
if you have the 8gb variant, you are kinda screwed and will have to lower texture and shadows + maybe some other settings like RT. or only RT.Anyone running this with a 5900x + 3070?
How is it?
Fuck yeah dude, glad you found some success. Not sure what’s causing the V Ram difference. I’ll take a closer look when I get home. Thanks!
I've matched your settings to test and it does not crash. get around 100fps too.
I prefer 4k maxed visuals with no RT I think.
Anyway - the important thing is that it doesn't crash.
One very weird thing. Look at my vram usage in the menu reported by the game. Same settings as yours
yeah it is doable no problem. Just annoying how capcom did it.Fuck yeah dude, glad you found some success. Not sure what’s causing the V Ram difference. I’ll take a closer look when I get home.

I find it kinda crazy that it is so hard to get a gpu with more than 10-12gb of vram from nvidia without breaking the bank.... AMD might not be up to par with dlss but at least they throw vram around like candy
Just right now I'm testing the demo in seriesX and PS5, both in performance mode, and I can see the image quality is clearly sharper in Xbox. It's very easy to spot the difference in the dense foliage on the ground at the beginning of the demo. In PS5 looks blurry, in seriesX it simply looks fine, sharp.
Difference in color/bright in next screenshots is because seriesX and PS5 share the HDR captures differently, but in gameplay lighting is the same.

the menu shows some differences. If there is no difference between 1,2,6,8gb high textures settings... why would they even include them in there?! It's just pain really.Yeah Nvidia was always screwing gamers with low Vram amount, only time they gave a lot of it was in Pascal in 2016. Right now there is no reasonably priced GPU on the market that i can change my 3060ti too... And based on 4060 rumors there won't in 4xxx series of cards. It has to be Nvidia because AMD is lacking in some aspects.
But for this game you really don't have to set textures above 1 or 2GB allocation settings, they stay the same. RE engine in this aspect is reasonable.
After playing trough both i think series X has higher resolution.

Keep the VRAM usage out of the yellow area (in the graphics menu) by reducing texture quality and/or shadow quality from ultra to high. Difference isn't noticable but the game get more stable. That was already an issue in RE2 and 3. It's also not really sure what the texture setting did in the previous games but keeping the VRAM usage way under the limit works well for me. No issues with an RTX 3080.Anyone else with 3080 10gb playing at 4k ?
I've made it INTO the first house on my 5th try. Had to lower FSR 2.0 to performance and RT from high to Normal.
I am not willing to sacrifice textures to lower more vram. This is bullshit really. I am using "high 8gb vram" option. They labeled it like that.
Oh man I really lack patience for this.... I just downloaded the game and played on ps5 with no issues yesterday.
btw. FSR 2.0 is not giving the fps results like in similar games and I am not cpu limited (only up to 20%), so I am not sure what's up.
Another thing I've noticed is that fps is not smooth and I see a lot of vrr oled flicker because of this. Probably it's hitching a bit more because of lack of vram.
so yeah... I know I just have to lower more settings but I don't like it. The game is already looking crunchy af with fsr 2.0. Will just try 1440p withhout fsr.
Works for me. Do you use the latest version of RTSS?I can't get the RTSS overlay

Resident evil really good series re5 remake is a miss by capcom.
Yeah, the shotgun doesn't feel like I'm doing much of anything really.Loved the graphics and atmosphere but man, the aiming is such a downgrade on the original. Bullets don't feel nearly as impactful either.
Hoping the red dot site upgrade will fix the aiming at least.

What you can do with it is fine - but not sure why it has a weak feeling presence - maybe it's the sound I'm not sure. There's just no "oomph". but I do like the results of using it!We should take into account that it's the beginning of the game, and we know we can upgrade our guns and find better versions of them.
As for the shotgun, speaking from personal experience I've blown off heads, limbs, and even blew the entire ride side of a Ganado's torso apart with it. I imagine upgraded and better shotguns will feel meatier.
