Right and I am sick of it he gets no more chances he never learns so why pretend like its different this time?Man who has history of racist behavior, had to issue many apologies says he'll learn from his mistakes...after what...the tenth time?
I promise to be a better person......not like those Nigg--
Sorry, it was a heated apology moment.
Ingrained in his vocabulary. He has to be actively filtering himself for it to not come out naturally. That's when you know someone is in the deep with a word.

They know once they punish one they will have to do the other and given all the personality defenders we have had from this that's going to hurt their platforms a lot.TBH I'm more disappointed in YouTube, Twitch, PUBG. They are in the unique position to offer repercussions for him being a racist, but do nothing. Yet they will continue to let hate define their platforms.
It took him 2 days to address it, I think it sounds like a pr company wrote it, and the way it is edited makes it look like he spent all afternoon trying to grind his way through it.
Plus he monetized the apology video.
Most of his didn't like him before this because he propagated racist alt-right talking points and had a bit where people walked around with a "death to all Jews" sign.
I mean waaaaaay before. Like 3,4 years ago.Or maybe we held poor views of him because this wasn't his first offense.
Someone answer me this. If you had a contract with Disney and lost that job, would you not stop and reflect on how your behavior can affect job opportunities? If that wasn't the biggest wake-up call to change behavior, that person is irredeemable.
As a Black person, I know that even talking about racial grievances can get me perceived as playing the race card and militant and he we have a white person who has had every single opportunity given to him and he can't even stop and be grateful for that.
Little kids are his biggest audience and his apology didn't go far enough because he didn't explain what that racial slur meant, and how it's used to target Black people. When you have an audience made up of children it's up to you to be responsible. Kids are going to now think it's okay to use the n word and very quickly they will be held accountable by their parents or at school when they are suspended.
If this was his first issue with being scum, I would say okay...maybe he can learn. But someone like PDP who has millions of dollars can't even assemble a team to educate him on being decent? Come on now.
And just look at the dislike ratio of videos calling PDP out. That's who I have to deal with in my everyday life. It's a problem that has never been addressed because money has only been the bottom line. If advertisers start being even pickier about content, I feel bad for smaller youtubers but this type of behavior has to stop.
Heat of the moment, it slipped out, etc. I'm so tired of this excuse and I'm tired of people who are okay with this.
Most of us didn't care about him 3,4 years ago because that's before he started normalizing racism and hate speech for millions of kids.I mean waaaaaay before. Like 3,4 years ago.
Probably had to cut out all the times he said it againGuy can't even get through that poorly written/acted schlock without jump cuts.
Fucking Youtube culture.

His viewer base made the case that he done nothing wrong. What an idiot, he really didn't learn anything from the last times, but ofc his viewers will eat this apology up. It's just a waiting game until he slips up again.

Not sure how big PUBG is on Youtube gaming..1. Do not use any discriminatory language, including but not limited to any language regarding ethnicity, nationality, race, gender, religion, sexual preference or personal beliefs.
A Personal Opinion About Apologies:
Apologies are good, but in themselves are not enough. If you apologize and then do the thing you apologized before again, or something similar, then the apology meant nothing, because you learned nothing.
So, for me, while the apology seemed reasonably sincere (opinions will vary on this), the question is what he will do in the future.
YouTube is directly responsible for the hate speech. Why do they let him continue to spread his hate?
How do we stop this?
Maybe he was sincere. It doesn't matter if he never puts forth the effort and the actions to actually back it up, and if he's genuine then he should know that we're right to criticize him until he does so and should take the suggestions on what he needs to do better to heartThe thing that makes me think he's sincere is his tone. Other times he's apologized he's never broken character. Yes, he puts on an act in his videos that he feels his fans find entertaining. Even when have a real serious video, he still puts on a little pewdiepie show.
Yes, you can sit Back and dissect every little word. Or get mad he wouldn't apologize if no one cared about what he said. But reslity is, before he gets to those points, he talks about his own feelings on the word and the he ends by admitting to his many mistakes and how he basically admits himself its hypocritical to apologize but then keep making mistakes.
He's never done that before. Never admitted that his apologies mean nothing if keeps messing up. What matters for him personally is how he handles himself moving forward. After an apology like this, he's kinda put himself on a cliff barely holding on and he seems to recognize that.
I hope for his sake, he uses this as a moment to grow and become a better person.
But extremists on all side simply won't care.

If i had 57 million viewers that were all graciously willing to follow me over the cliff, I'd probably be ok not fucking with disney.
You can't stop it and money is why. PDP is ridiculously popular and with that regardless of whether one likes it or not he will get a lot more leeway than most.YouTube is directly responsible for the hate speech. Why do they let him continue to spread his hate?
How do we stop this?
What can we do then? These empty apologies to hate speech from popular youtubers aren't doing anything, except making the youtubers more money.Youtube doesn't really care, if they could get away with hosting propaganda vids from ISIS they're not gonna be phased by white supremacy.

I think he is afraid that he'll lose sponsors... Lol.
How about working like a normal person? Playing videogames while others watch it. I don't understand this world we are living in...
Man why did I read the comments section
Now work towards being better in the future. No second chances though. You walk a tight rope now.

You don't have to worry about second chances because this is his 4th/5th chance at this.
But yeah I'm sure he'll change for the better this time.

YouTube should be held accountable for continuing to promote white supremacy.

This is my take on this too. I know how casually the word is used in Sweden too out of the medias attention so he could've pulled in those strings too, but he didn't.He could've doubled down on it and fed into the whole stupid "it's just a word" that I've seen many people throw on twitter to defend him. Just admitting it's not ok to say the word in a public video made me respect him more. Now to see if he actually learns from this.
