get myself a cartier watch or an armani/burberry/hugo suit

Yeah, the susposedly "17,500RPM" rev motor that was short of what they advertised but other than the little 'misprint' the bike is nice from what I heard. Were you ever offered a refund on your purchase from Yamaha?

I am heading to get the new R1 come spring, been waiting for a big makeover for the trackdays.

They offered me a refund but I didn't really want one (As I was already aware that the redline was inaccurate and topped out somewhere around 16,200). It's a beast of a 600.

Let's see;

1. They say they don't take pre-orders, yet the system was clearly designed to take them.

2. They allowed an erroneous website to go live. This doesn't just happen by itself; the website might be generated automatically, but someone has to enable it to access the ordering database.

3. There was allocation to this pre-ordering system as proven by the fact that it changed itself over to "Coming Soon" once a certain number was placed. That's pretty sophisticated for a system that isn't supposed to accept pre-orders at all.

4. Every level of the company gave us mixed messages about whether or not this was a legit sale.

5. They allowed a supposed "glitch" to place a hold on our accounts for seven days.

Mine is still technically active. I wish they would cancel this stuff for real so I can clear that pending charge. Probably gonna take another two days for that pending charge to be resolved.

The people going on about how they will never shop at best buy again are so utterly riddiculous. That reaction is completely childish in light of the KNOWN odds that your pre-order would actually go through.

Thats like getting pissed cuz you EXPECTED to win at the casino.

Oh, and please tell me bracer is a joke character, please. I deal with tech support customers who sound more intelligent, and they are afraid to double click control panel.

If that is true that is some major BS and is pretty outrageous. I'm dissapointed and all about not getting the system but walking around with 700 bucks tied up due to a store error is pretty bad.

Well I'm not going to the "I'm never going to shop at Best Buy" card but it's not outrageous to stop frequenting a business that gives you poor service and what someone deems to be poor service is their own right. They put up something and then took it back. I think your reaction is just as silly and ridiculous as I'm sure you think others are.

If you arent of that crowd, that post was not aimed at you.

I'm just saying, why didnt this jump out at people as "Hey I'm taking a big risk here, this is probably not going to work out for more than 10 of us" is beyond me.

I dont however think that anyone should sit tight and let them **** with your credit card. Fight the good fight there man.

Same here. I don't feel very much ill will towards Best Buy, but I can totally respect it if someone were disappointed and chose to spend their money elsewhere.
