Well as much as I wanted the information from my friends back home to be an accurate reflection of the market as a whole, it was unarguably the safe bet to have MS on top this NPD. Discounting your console $75 below competition and bundling two games with $50 in store credit values the console at around $200. If they didn't see a win from that they would be been up the infamous creek without a paddle. But for now they are safe.
That said I doubt the sales difference between consoles is as cast as many are making it out to bein betting it's less than or equal to 200k.
The real question at this point is will MS continue with these discounts in January or will they eliminate the bundled games or bump the price back up? If they do sales are sure to drop like a rock.

Wow. holy shit. Yea that is not a good sign for MS. With the sales differential being that low with those heavy discounts they stand basically zero chance of making up any ground towards the existing sales gap. Holy hell that's way lower than what I would've even thought. I was thinking around 90k. Yeesh

So to 'win' November MS had to combine both the U.S. and UK sales, and they only managed to do it by 7 to 10k??
Perhaps Sony should include the UK sales in their NPD data too...
There was still a kinect SKU that was $500. Kinectless was a new cheaper SKU. Whatever though. Tired of debating (haha).

Maybe we are reading CBOAT wrong and 10k is actually the LTD gap between the PS4 and XB1 after the XB1 rallied in November.... RIGHT?
Because I think that is actually more believable then MS only having a 10k lead in November after a $70 price cut. Bundling 2 free games, having far and away the best selection of bundles and in store offers and gift cards.
I mean the PS4 had basically nothing to bundle beacuse MS tied so many games down. Is GTA just that damn big?

I knew something was fishy when they mentioned UK.
How would the overall gap be 10k? Weren't they behind around 1M units as of the end of October? Microsoft would have to have sold like 1.75-2M units in November (going by what consoles typically sell in November) for that to be true.

I think the part I bolded might be the problem. There was enough outcry to get Bioware to change the ending so I'm guessing that people still remember that.
That or the Bioware crowd haven't moved to the new console generation yet.

Gen is up almost 80%, so the combined numbers are ~2M very roughly for November. Link is in the NPD OP.

The question now is if that was only US, UK, or both. MS's presser combined US and UK to make that "best-selling" comment. If the split between XBO and PS4 was really as small as CBOAT said, there's a chance they lost one of those markets....
...and I'm thinking it's the U.S. Why combine UK sales for a NA NPD? Think about that...

Seems like majority of that 80% increase is from PS4.
Numbers from Mpl90:
360 13 months total: ~3,399.8K
PS3 13 months total: ~ 2,447.2K
One 13 months total: ~3700K + 1240K(simple estimate for Nov) = ~ 4940K % ~3400 = 45% increase
PS4 13 months total: ~4800K + 840K(simple estimate for Nov) = ~ 5640K % ~2447 = 130% increase
Just rough estimates, but PS4 is doing way better. Basically about the combine sale of 360 + PS3 first 13 months total.
