Is it though? I feel like most people that wanted a PS4 for Destiny likely already bought one during the previous bundle-tho , I could be wrong but I feel MGSV would be the stronger system seller at this current point in time.

I agree with this. MGS5 is going to sell really well and it's going to be heavily skewed towards ps4.

I doubt lots of people are going to run out to buy a console to celebrate the release of an expansion.

Personally, the drawn of the TTK bundle is that the console is so much good looking.

If I was in the US I would easily sell my black ps4 and buy the limited destiny one.

Maybe part of the arrangement with Activision is that Sony can't bundle another game the same month as anything Destiny.

I wonder how abysmal Wii U sales are going to be this month? Let's consider is it's second month in a row without a single retail game release. That's just ridiculous. :( At least I hope Splatoon continues doing pretty well.

Here's how you spin this.

"Xbox One was the top selling console at 4:44 A.M. July 4th 2015. Making it the most patriotic console of the year. WOW!"

I meant in the US, but you're right.

But this situation is seriously puzzling. Maybe Sony couldn't produce a huge amount of units for 2 limited bundles the same month, so they decided to make more of the destiny one and focus the mgs one to the stronger market (for the franchise)

For a little comparison.

Code:
+-------+------------+------------+
| Month | Japan | US |
+-------+------------+------------+
| April | 43.086 | 43.000 |
| May | 42.889 | 42.000 |
| June | 78.145 | 70.000 |
| July | 45.003 | |
+-------+------------+------------+

For the past few months sales of WiiU in the US have been on par with Japan, I would expect a similar result this month.

Japan numbers are from Media Create, US' are from these very threads.

This as I pointed out before doesn't explain the lack of a simple pack in bundle. They could at least pack it in with the new 12--A models or use it to introduce the 1TB console. They are literally giving up console sales imo. I'm positive it would move consoles.

even after E3 MS cant win with anything they showed....smh Sony will drop the price to the ps4 $50-$100 MS wont be able to rely on Nov and Dec anymore. its a wrap

Press shows are for press (explains the name) and buyers for retail chains. They aren't meant for consumers and likewise do very little to affect purchasing habits.

Yup. Definitely see Sony pushing forward with a Black Ops 3 bundle AND Battlefront bundle. They would be stupid not too. Not to mention I'm sure they'll bundle other games with the base system itself this holiday.

To me at least it's looking less likely that Sony will drop the price this Holiday. At the end of the day they aren't worried about losing a few months on NPD if they are hitting their numbers and meeting their bottom line.

If this was a decade ago I might have agreed, but in 2015 we live in a world where E3 has millions and millions of viewers who tend to make their purchasing decisions based on what they see.

Retail chains have their own little events where they see what's in the pipeline for the year.

It's a wrap? Ms will win August and holidays imo. It's a wrap

I don't think MS will win the holidays this year unless they drop the price again. It's not impossible but CoD and BF are going to move a lot of systems for Sony.
Those are usually the games that sell religiously during that time, the mp games.
